- Better late than never, as we approach 3000 days in my Create world, I finally make a Kelp farm! But not just any kelp farm - taking full use of minecrafts create mod, we build a huge dockyard, a bunch of warehouses and a fishing boat that collects wild kelp out on the ocean!

This dock *definitely* needs a rail connection
He could go with the Rail theme of Hamburg, Germany where the so calles U3 passes by the Harbour on big Viaducts. this might fit very well in there

Maybe for the ship you can have some sort of fishing net made out of fences dragging behind it, and use the contour of the half-sphere shape of the net to hide the harvesters, instead of the line of harvesters?
This is exactly what I was just going to comment! Even if it doesn’t look like a net it could be more of a dragline style harvester.

I would absolutely love to see where this dockyard is gonna go maybe adding a large container ship with those cranes that unload them and also a drydock for building the ships would be really cool to see!
Idea: Make an oil rig somewhere in the sea later where it is the median between multiple ocean destinations and there have it produce lava and other liquids to bring to new places when you need them

Now that you've got a phantom rails, you can now build a ship of the wandering Dutchman (the rails are invisible so it would fit perfectly)

For the green dye issue, you can turn cacti into green dye. To stop going back and forth make a cacti farm. I hope this helps ❤
LOVE IT the Kelpnator! One of the best episodes yet! - I just think, the boat path could have one or two more stops, so the traject seems more real with fishing and so on.
you could move the harvesters to the back of the boat and make it look like a net, since it's a fishing boat
You could hide the stations better if you used buoys (the floating markers) then it makes sense for the boat to take the path it does.
Idea for the dock. When you have bigger ships, you could make an big dock crane, like in real docks and just make it a moving Vault on a rope pulley with a portable storage interface, so it looks like containers are being offloaded

The boat texture could use some rust, probably using weathered copper.
You need a garage were you have a few truks so when you need a new truck you can take one

Best flower for green dye is tulips,they give a ton more green than other flowers. Only thing better is cactus.
I dont know but is it a good idea to make a trade company or a Naval repair yard or some of those dutch mercant homes and storage houses from the dutch golden age

Amazing video! I love water and boats, definitely one of my fav episodes! Idea for the boat would be rust and maybe a lobster fishing boat, it’s wider and also deeper into the water irl, might be a nifty idea to hide the harvesters and would look sweet out there in the water!

You should make the blocks on the boat that are underwater red for the copper paint that they put on boats to prevent barnacles
The time lapse is longer for me because a video appeared when you said it's gonna be a long time lapse
If I had to be honest, you should have made a small shunter for the docks. People like trains, not lorries.

Love the ship, have some suggestions:
1: Maybe make the harvester spin, it might look more cool and realistic.
2. Name the ship “Ol’ Kelpline.”
Id recommend adding some more boat stops along the way and maybe capping out the speed
U could probably make a nice little Fish Market at the docks!!

You should make a semi truck for this build because it fits
did you limit the speed of the kelp boat in it's schedule? Might be a nice touch to have it moving more slowly than the trains are, to really make it feel like it's something else. Plus that way the kelp has more of a chance to grow as it goes around! (I think a good name would be the HMS GreenThumb)
I did, is set to 1 third speed, but could do with being even slower tbh haha

I love your series, I was just thinking that you might want a darker looking wood for the dockside buildings. Wood nearby water would definitely be treated, and during the Industrial Revolution (ish) times, wood would frequently be treated with creosote, which makes wood a whole lot darker. I’m not an expert in the field, but I live in Seattle and a lot of the older wood at the docks is darker than the cut spruce. Overall your choice, thanks for making such cool stuff!
ive been looking at Valkyrian skyes Mod with Eureka! addon. That would allow you to make actual working ships! Unfortunately it doesn't just add as there are some conflicts with some mods already in a pack i could not find :(( Also your balloon base could be made into actual flying vessel! Would you look into adding that into your modpack?
Hey beardy! I downloaded your pack and have been happily playing but I'm encountering an issue with mid distant textures not rendering right with their adjacent blocks or just not rendering right at all! For example, torches have weird yellow lines along their axis. I was wondering if you encountered this and if you had a fix!

A small narrow guage tramway would nice, maybe a GER Class C53, a small coach, and some plank wagons. Give the place some life, maybe add a gantry crane they just moves back and forth with a clamshell bucket. A a way you could hide a storage is a ship beign loaded. Maybe even add a rail ferry that acts as a localized train creation spot.
Since boats are usually quite slow You could consider setting a maximum speed for the boat to ~30% to make it look more like a boat. Also if you use the [+] below your time conditions, not the [+] on the right, you can set "cargo empty" as an additional "and" condition.

I love watching your builds. I had literally built a kelp boat the day before you posted this (I know, everyone will say I copied you) and I wanted to mention you can put your harvesters INSIDE the hull so you're not banging into the dock or taking out innocent dolphins.
Do you think the name could have a ship name like the HBS Kelp Beard (HBS = His Beardness’s Ship) based on the British HMS (His/Her Majesty’s Ship)
Hey Mr. Beardstone, I've been a little wierded out by the trucks behavior because it looks like they're drifting, and I think I figured out why. The bogeys for the carriage are on the front and back, which means it has 4 wheel steering. In a real car, it only has 2 wheel steer in the front. You could fix this by giving the train carriage a single bogey, directly under the rear axle of the truck. that way the rear wheels will pivot about the middle of the bogey, while the front wheels arc far out and turn like a normal car. It's a tiny detail but will help improve immersion.

Love the boat idea but should design it so it looks like something that's built to harvest Kelp. Also, Trains, trucks and now boats - you def need a cargo airport with a cargo plane or helicopter between two major hubs!
