      Lol, "Why did Russia perform so poorly?" Come on now, the real question now is, why would you believe a word coming from Western-allied media when it was so obviously and desperately trying to establish a global anti-Russia, pro-Ukraine narrative. You should be able to tell by now when US intelligence is force-feeding content into the info stream. Another huge tell is the existence of almost exclusively Ukraine-flattering combat clips on mainstream social media. It's statistically impossible, thus forced.

Also, he said that Wagner was effective, but in reality, they suffered greater casualties and used more equipment than a regular army to achieve the same result. Which is not impossible, but would take a lot of precise explosions.

    • @rollerknobster
      @rollerknobster 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      @@user-kh6nn4vj8m While the partyanki part is indeed 10 years old, the Wagner were less effective on a per-unit-of-personnel basis, but they were still quite effective overall, specifically because they would utilize the meatwave attacks with, in part, massive amounts of conscripted prisoners. This was not an option to the Russian military, at least on a legislative level, and does skew the stats (also has nothing to do with "outdated info"). The Crimean Bridge one is not really a point since you said yourself it's not impossible. Therefore, implying a possibility is reasonable (also has nothing to do with "outdated info").

    Some technical criticism just from a viewer concerned with aesthetic. Destiny and erudite should shift more to the right because the camera cuts off his right shoulder. The camera angle for the guest should be slightly higher and there should be some kind of colorful stuff in the background with color, the all black back ground looks off. The window idea is awesome but be wary off overcast days. The camera on the guest should be slightly moved so that Destiny's soy shoulder doesn't show and personally having a little less space on his right side will be more aesthetically pleasing and his hand gestures won't be off camera. That big bottle out of focus in front of Erudite is distracting and should either be taken off the table or wherever it can be off camera. The main three person camera angle is slightly out of focus and and slightly too dark that can be improved by both having stronger lighting and lowering the fstop(also having fill light to counteract harsh shadows. Possibly even find a good middle ground for a more dramatic look using the fill/light ratio) while accouting for diffraction. Please anyone correct me for any errors or unreasonable changes.

      I don't know if that's as substantial as we may think. If you look at military spending in the US, a very significant portion goes to bloated admin costs and overpriced contracts with orgs that are only slightly less bloated...we burn a fuckton of money. But the issue with Russia is that they're much poorer, they don't have a great manufacturing supply chain, and their military industry has been mostly dormant for decades.

    • @leirex_1
      @leirex_1 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@TheStatisticalPizza Russia is rich AF, it's just that the money is concentrated in the hands of the oligarchy. Putin has established a culture of corruption on every level of Russian society, which means even if the Kreml decides to dish out money to, for instance, modernize infantry equipment you can be sure that everyone in the chain will try and steal as much of that money as possible and then lie to their superiors, while also paying off authorities that are supposed to investigate corruption. Such cases of corruption almost never get exposed and when they do they are just publicity stunts to make Putin seem like he is "hard on corruption". Additionally, Russian armory personell is known for just selling equipment illegally for personal gains.
      The US and it's military may have a bloat problem but compared to Russia, corruption in the US is heavily frowned upon and it is much more sophisticated than the petty corruption you see in Russia (or even some other ex commie countries), which is why it is harder to prove and detect.
      Also, claiming that the Russian military industry has been mostly dormant for decades makes absolutely no sense considering they have modernization plans in a ton of areas: Ratnik program, development of T14/T15, development of the Bumerang IFV, development of SU-57, stealth submarine propulsion, adoption of the AK-12 and so on.

    It is sort of a myth about the ammunition carousel that is operated by the auto-loader being the reason for NBC protection and the turret flying off.
    1. The tank's breech will be exposed to air from outside regardless of the automatic loader nor a human loader. Tanks achieve this by using special filters and air pumps to have constant overpressure of air inside the tank. Russian tanks without autoloaders also do this.
    2. The turret flying off in catastrophic detonation of all of the tanks ammunition usually occurs from the *other* ammunition stored inside the vehicle, instead of the ammunition in the carousel underneath the turret basket. This spare ammunition is located in the turret's real walls, next to the driver inside the fuel tanks behind the front plate, and in the gap between the turret basket and the engine, although this depends on the model. T-55 and T-62 are manually loaded tanks, and they explode just the same. Plenty of vehicles explode like this when their ammunition is hit, the reason why the Abrams is always compared is because it has all ammunition stored in the rear of the turret behind a blast door, with blast panels on its roof. If ammunition detonates, it cannot build up pressure and blow the turret, nor will it cook the crew. T-90M, the latest Russian tank, moved its spare ammunition to the same location. However, it still has the carousel, so a detontion is still possible, (especially from top attack munitions, like the Javelin), but less likely compared to older models such as T-72, T-90, and T-80.

    What she says at :37 about the theory of violence is quite profound. Society requires that all violence be in the hands of the police, because channeled violence is the foundation of law, and law is the basis of the state. Social contract theory is that we give up some rights, the right to commit violence, in return for increased safety. But everyone is theoretically capable of violence, and the state has the power to unlock that violence with army indoctrination. So the state actually controls the ability to use violence in the individual. Martial arts can slowly bring that control into the hands of an individual, and generally also teaches a code of conduct to go with that training. But many movies are violent fantasies, in which violence is a magic power, so people do long for their own capacity for violence. But this entire conversation is not useful to society, which demands that it not even be a question, all violence is in the hands of the police. There is room for some philosophical conjecture here, as she says.

    Cheap inexpensive drones that can carry a warhead or drop ordance, in addition to artillary is what will win this war. Sadly Russia seems to be winning that race imho.
    The Russian military may be downright haphazard in their approach but they also have an uncanny ability to adapt to a situation. Ignoring that is a recipe for disaster.

      With dozens of Su-35 jets, Russia couldn't win the war but he thinks somehow F-16 will do it for Ukraine!!!
      No, the future is a massive number of cheap drones. That's where the victory will come. The Russians and the Ukrainians understand this, that's why they are putting a lot of efforts to make more drones.
      Ukraine already used all those systems that he is talking about: HARM missiles, AAMRAM missiles, JDAM-ER bombs, etc... none of them changed the course of the war. In fact, Russians have successfully nullified the JDAM bombs with electronic jamming. Instead, drones have proven many times they can help Ukraine turn the tide.
      Ryan thinking on this war is out dated unfortunately. The future of war is drones of all type, air defense, electronic warfare. Expensive fighter jets and fancy missiles are going to be a thing of the past. We can clearly see this on the battlefield.

    But Ukrainian was trained and equipped by NATO from 2014. Clearly their training dosen't work.
    And there's no way that Ukrainians can take back any of the land they lost. Because it's Russian land now. And most of the people living there are ethnic Russians. And Blowing up the bridge will not give Ukrainian an uper hand at the negotiating table. Remember, Crimea was under Russia for years before the bridge was built. 3:46 - Not completely the full story (incorrect on this point I fell really). There is something called being hull down and in the lower depressions of landscapes / geography if you have a lower tank profile, it is much easier to remain undetected and hull down.
    Also, when you have a laser rangefinder like the Abrams, Challenger or even the T-72 has (basically all modern MBTs) it is not hard to hit your target. So, it is more about trying to remain unseen and really for a normal infantry man on the ground, it still has that effect of being difficult to be seen and if you're hull down, you're even more difficult to hit).
    Now where the real problems come in isn't even really with the javelin (Many weapons have top attack, the British NLAW has top-down attack once you spotted your target, hell even Russia has a landmine that can do top attack, that will jump up if a tank is detected and comes close and also the missiles strapped onto helicopters have top attack, than can see very far away, more than an infantrymen can), the problem comes in with recon.
    Recon is way too good now. With thermal sights on a drone, it can see the battlefield 24/7. And any tank (even the Western tanks we saw with the Ukrainian counter offensive) were sitting ducks.

Also talking up the amraam is a solid missile for a 30 year old missile that's seen updates but would you rather have that or the hypersonic r77 that is way faster and has more range.
    What's going to happen is those f 16's are going to hang back from the frontlines just like the rest of the air assets are because both sides have tons of anti air capability. or they're going to get shot down.

Ukraine is to receive about 60 F16s, which means they will still be in a severe numerical inferiority. The F16 is also not a new plane, and the ones Ukraine is about to receive especially not. • @MaxCroat

    Ryan has some good points, but this video makes it seem like he is drastically overestimating Ukrainian capabilities and underestimating Russian ones. He doesn't seem to acknowledge (at least in this particular video) the fact that the Russians are learning and adapting and that they are not the same force with the same structure and capabilities and training that they have shown in the early days of the invasion. We also have to acknowledge the reality as it stands right now - Russia is winning right now. Not saying that it will stay this way, but this is the current situation. Ukraine has been largely dependent on foreign aid. The relative lack of foreign aid in recent months (in contrast to 2022 and 2023) is showing on the frontlines. They are barely holding the frontline, in fact the Russians are advancing in several parts of it and Ryan here is talking how Ukraine could take back the occupied territories and even Crimea. Wake up dude, it isn't 2022 anymore. The Russians have brought many more men to the frontline than they had in 2022 and they are learning and adapting the same as the Ukrainians are adapting. Despite what media sometimes wants us to believe, the Russians aren't stupid or retarded and unable to learn from their mistakes. In fact, we've all seen the success of the Ukrainian Kharkhiv and Kherson offensives in late 2022, and then the subsequent failure of the 2023 summer offensive (despite all the western equipment supplied specifically for this offensive). It shows the Russian military is adapting. And right now, largely due to exhausting a significant part of their offensive capabilities during last summer's offensive, the Ukrainians simply don't have significant offensive capabilities like they did before. They are not at all capable of retaking occupied territories at this point. There is a reason why Ukraine right now is asking largely for defensive weapons (most importantly air defense systems) instead of offensive ones. 50 or so F-16s aren't going to change this overnight, in fact it is questionable if a few dozen F-16s will have a major impact on the war at all right now. By all accounts, this year is going to be a very hard one for Ukraine where they will be trying to just hold on, and Ryan here is saying that they could be retaking lost lands by the end of the year. As if destroying the Kerch bridge will magically enable an exhausted Ukrainian military to just completely wreck the much stronger than 2 years ago Russian military in Ukraine. Not to mention the Russians are well aware of the vulnerability of this bridge and have been for a while, which is why they are developing and strengthening alternative routes. Just a couple of months ago or so they announced they are rebuilding a railway from Rostov to Berdyansk to serve as an alternative to the Kerch bridge, but there are also other routes already being used.
