    Tip from a seamstress ( love your videos! ) lay the garment out flat and then cut up the seam on the side. Following with cutting off the black strip below the hemline so that it doesn’t fray and still keeps it’s shape. 😅
    Anything cuts easier when laid flat. And make sure those scissors are sharp❤

    I love illusion hems but yeah it really didn’t work with that style, it did look just out of place. Much better without, and the trim you cut off could maybe become a cute sash belt for a plain dress or something, even matching sleeve cuffs if there’s enough for it. Very cute final look

    I hated the mesh too, a perfect way to immediately make the wearer look shorter, and trust me on that as someone who stopped growing at 5. 3". I did like the original length, it might have been possible to keep at least some of the length if you sewed the strip of patterned fabric at the bottom. Might require messing with seams so it fits right though.

      @BlueEyedBatman I've seen plenty of dresses embellished all the way around, you just learn to sit gently, not like a wild animal. Well- made clothes used to always continue the pattern in back.

    • @blueeyedbatman
      @blueeyedbatman ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@apisme9090 Lmao it's funny that you go to the extreme of sitting "like a wild animal" instead of just realizing how things in the fashion industry, and life, have changed over the years. 🤣 You can still get garments like that, but you don't want to pay the high prices for them. 🤷‍♀️ Material and labor costs have gone up, so too have the prices of those high quality products.

      No. Stripe was ugly.

    • @Erydanus
      @Erydanus 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The stripe was see-through though and that's what made it weird and ugly. It was like Hi here's a window to your inner thighs. That was just kind of shady.

      @Erydanus 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I did think the dress material was really pretty and I was wondering if you would keep that band at the bottom and repurpose it maybe add it as an accent piece or so it into a little wristlet to use on something else that needed a pop of gold color.

      It’s kinda crazy reading all these comments. Like yes people can have their opinions but if she doesn’t like the way the original looks…. Why keep it like that? Why be unsatisfied with what you wear?
      If these people got a similar dress and liked the black strip, they should keep the black strip lol

    Could have kept the black strip and had a versatile piece if you were just going to roll it up anyway, but I love how she altered it to make it into her completely own style and a look for a different occasion

    • @LuckasSilver
      @LuckasSilver ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I mean, the idea isn't to roll it up initially. That was very clearly an after thought with "Oh, it looks better, but I don't like the length for tonight." The "for tonight" is important because she may like that new length pre-rolling for other evenings and events. Knowing "This window doesn't look good to me period." doesn't prevent her from later knowing "This length is good, but not for tonight's dinner."

      Facts. She’s the one wearing it not us! Everyone styles their clothing to fit their tastes and hey, it’s better than throwing the dress away altogether.
      In the end, we can voice our approval or disapproval all we’d like, but she’s the one who’s actually gonna wear it. As long as she’s happy with it, then why no make the alterations?
