Thanks so much, appreciate it greatly! I’ve had it since it pretty much came out and it’s been great. I’d just double check to make sure your setup is compatible the gimbal on the DJI website!
Thanks for always being so informative. Would you say the RS3 Mini footage for real estate videos comes out as smooth as an RS3 or is there a noticeable difference?
Thanks! I actually never used the regular RS3 funny enough but I’d say the mini does just the same. The footage always came out super smooth! Thanks for watching
I really like your video and how you describe it. How long does it take you to shoot something like this and realistically, how much time to do the editing?
Prob one of your best videos dude!!! So many great tips. Glad you're liking the new gimbal too :) Wish it had worked better with my setup. Also it's pretty funny how similar the inside of that house looks to the one next door to the right that I shot lol. Like the exact same but the outside looks different!
Haha yeah they told me about that one! Thanks man, means a lot coming from you! And mega thanks for the super thanks, didn’t have to do that!! But greatly appreciate it man 😊🙌🏻
Awesome! Yeah it easily holds it. Only thing to note is how big the lens is. The 15-35 is pretty big but probably as big as it can hold, might have issues with longer lenses
I don’t use it anymore since my main camera doesn’t fit on it! However, I had everything on slow settings. Like follow speed on slow, deadband on high so it doesn’t try to move quickly, and either pan follow or pan tilt follow. Thanks for watching!
Hey Andrei, Great video! I have a question. In "Tips for Shooting," around 4:08, you mention you filmed from 15mm to 24mm. Did you have two cameras, or did you just swap your lens? If so, what is your routine? For example, do you quickly have a bag for your lenses?
I use a 15-35 so luckily 24-35mm I can just quickly zoom in on my gimbal and then capture the property shots at 15mm. But now that I also use a 24-70 for these types of shoots, I typically use my 15-35 and get all the initial property shots first, then use the 24-70 for the lifestyle shots, gets a better variety especially at 50-70mm. Thanks for watching!
YES. That's the biggest difference I noticed and didn't;t like about the Ronin-S. And the fact how much lighter the Mini is as well. Thanks for watching!
Great video! thanks a lot for all the info! I know it's a delicate topic but would you charge more for this type of videos compared to a regular listing video? thanks again great video
Thanks, glad you found it valuable! Oh yes, this is definitely a bigger investment that a regular listing video since this takes pre production/meeting, shot list/storyboarding, more editing, etc. I offer this as a premium bundle, almost like a custom video production. Thanks for watching!
I see it as a teaser or trailer of the home, so anywhere from 30 sec - 1:30 is what I think they should be. Unlike full listing videos that can be longer than that since they show most of the home
Thanks for your amazing videos. Do you first shoot normally and then crop into vertical when vertical videos are requested? or Do you just shoot vertical in all scenes?
Hey! Great question. If I’m specifically shooting a regular formatted video, and then also doing a vertical edit, I’ll try and shoot some actual vertical shots of the highlights of the property and also crop in to the rest. If I’m specifically shooting a vertical video or doing a different edit from the regular formatted video, I’ll shoot all the shots vertically. Actually working on a vertical RE video that should go live next week. Thanks for watching!
What would you recommend as good inexpensive camera gear (camera, lens and tripod) for beginners in real estate photo shooting? I think the Canon R6 or R7 are significant investments starting out.
Agree with you there! Before a canon r6, I using a 5d mark iv but even that’s overkill. 5d3 or 6D / 6D mark ii preowned could be worth looking into. mpb.com is a great site for preowned stuff, that’s what I use. Also the new R8 that came out. Or I also started with the canon rebel series. T5, T6, etc. and a crop sensor wide angle lens. And also, do you have a pretty new phone? You could honestly use the ultra wide angle lens if your phone has one as well. Thanks for watching!
@@AndreiRestrepo Cool, thanks for the reply! What's your take on the Canon EOS Rebel SL3 (EOS 250D)? It comes with a EF-S 18-55 mm III lens. Seems quite affordable.
I’m sure that or any camera could do the job. It’s mostly about the proper lens for real estate photography. The kit lens unfortunately isn’t wide enough. But you could get the camera and then look at the canon 10-18mm lens or others by tamron or sigma!
just found your channel today.. love all videos so far. so the question here (nobody dare to ask). How much $$ you charge for a regular RE video and how much for this type of RE Lifestyle. No need to be exact tho.. you could just say.. between $$$ and $$$
For sure! Most of my regular real estate videos are between $350-$750 and these higher end RE lifestyle video/luxury property ones are $1000-$2000. Thanks for watching!
Great video! I am looking to get a new gimbal and the mini is on my list as a potential purchase. I am hesitating because I am not sure it will hold my set up sony a7r3 and 16-35 G master. Any idea if that set up would be an issue for the mini? I saw a video where the person recommended only crop sensor body paired with a small lens.
Hey! I think it will hold that set up just fine. I think my camera body is bigger than yours, and my lens is a 15-35 so it’s probably around the same size as the G master. I think on DJI’s website, you can check to see if it’s compatible
The auto locking is definitely a feature that would be great! But coming from the ronin s with no locking, I’ll take it haha. And it’s already super light!
Honestly it mostly comes down to the weight and size of your setup. The video before this one, I reviewed the RS3 Pro. Great gimbal, but it's mostly aimed for large setups like a c70 or or cinema cameras. So total overkill for what I'm doing. If my setup didn't fit the Rs3 mini or was too heavy, I'd be looking at the regular RS3. You do lose a few features like the auto-locking arms and not sure what else. But you also gain native vertical mounting. Hope this answers your question, thanks for watching!
Swap lenses and rebalance. 😅 but it honestly adds like 1-2 minutes if that bc my 50 is similar the when I balance the 15-35. However, now using a 15-35 2.8, shooting details at 35mm + crop mode on the camera can get me similar results. Or I shoot them handheld or like in this video I used my tripod to break up the gimbal shots. Thanks for watching!
Andrei what's up?! Love this lifestyle video you did it's EPIC! Would love it if you could do some more videos like this. Am curious what you used for frame rate. Did you shoot @ 60fps or @ 30fps or both?
Thanks so much, definitely plan to! I shot everything at 60fps since I knew the video would have a slower/cinematic feel and have the ability to slow down some parts. The interior RE shots thought were at 30fps, all in $k on the Canon R6. Thanks for watching!
Question on epidemic sound, I have it but what if the client wants to upload it on their platform? Won't they get copyrighted with it? Or they should get the ES sub too?
They can upload it and in your ES account, you can copy the link of wherever they post it and clear the video for them! So for example, if we send over a video to a client with ES music on it and they post it on their YT channel and get a copyright notice, I simply copy the link of that video and go to the section on ES where you can clear videos and that's it. But you have to have the commercial plan, doesn't work with the personal plan since that just covers your personal accounts. Thanks for watching!
Probably the course of late afternoon - evening so like 4 hours. Probably half that time to shoot the regular real estate shots, and then another 1.5-2 for the lifestyle shots. Thanks for watching!
Yup! CLOG3 cinema gamut on the R6 Mark ii and R5C! Here's a video where I breakdown my color correcting & grading workflow if you're interested! th-cam.com/video/P_QpPR9mzKU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=dT2sdIU80QmbU1MB
did you experience the camera swaying back and forth a bit while using the rs3 mini? this was a big change from my phone gimbal.. it is not as seamless to use
@AndreiRestrepo I did, but I think I assumed that the stabilizer was going to do all the work lol but I quickly learned that I need to have the correct posture and walk
The biggest con I've heard about this is it doesn't support an Arca plate. If that's the case, it's a shame because it's beyond important for photographers to switch quickly between the gimbal and their tripod. Is this true, or have they updated it by chance?
Yup, that’s been annoying! But actually SmallRig just sent me they’re own arca mount for the rs3 mini. Haven’t used it yet, actually will be shortly for a shoot but I think it’s solved with their plate replacement
I try my hardest to listen to clients when they have a "amazing vision for the video or photos" but man is it difficult, it's 9 times out of 10 absolutely terrible, or causes a lot more trouble than it's worth so I have to put my foot down respectfully. Also, it's usually the clients that tend to "know best" when it comes to the luxury market. I'm in the mindset of stay in your line, and I won't tell you how to talk to your clients as an agent, but I do at least give them a chance if they are coming at me with suggestions respectfully opposed to "they know best".
Good points there! I guess I mean they usually just have a general idea, and I come up with the specifics or we both collaborate on it, like for this video. But ya I’ve had clients throw some odd ideas out before too
Great job Andrei! This is inspiring!
Appreciate it, glad you liked it!
This really helped man. exactly what I needed. Im shooting my first big lifestyle shoot tomorrow and can't wait! got the same gimbal as well.
Nice! Congrats, they’re my favorite types of shoots in this industry. So much more creatively fulfilling! Thanks for watching
the full lifestyle video at the end was phenomenal!
Thanks so much Collin!
I just ordered my gimbal. Thanks for the recommendation. I'm learning so much from your videos!
Nice, I’m sure you’ll enjoy it! Just used it for a shoot today. Thanks for watching and for the feedback!
Amazing work man!!
Thanks a lot! Really appreciate it!
I appreciate your review of this gimbal. 🎉
Thanks so much! Glad you found it valuable!
Awesome job Andrei! I’m seriously considering that gimbal as well as I’m getting 75% of my video requests for vertical.
For the price point, it’s a great investment. Works better vertically IMO but still just as good regular. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for referring to this video. Im buying the gimbal through your link. You are a nice guy thanks for responding to my questions
Thanks so much, appreciate it greatly! I’ve had it since it pretty much came out and it’s been great. I’d just double check to make sure your setup is compatible the gimbal on the DJI website!
I liked this video because you did something great: using the less transition/effects/overlay possible.
Thanks so much! Me too, it’s just definitely over done these days, and takes away from the actual video. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for always being so informative. Would you say the RS3 Mini footage for real estate videos comes out as smooth as an RS3 or is there a noticeable difference?

Awesome! Yeah it easily holds it. Only thing to note is how big the lens is. The 15-35 is pretty big but probably as big as it can hold, might have issues with longer lenses
Would you be willing to do a video about the DJI rs3 mini settings for these videos!?
Just got one
