    Check out the 90 degree spine too. I've used mine to make fatwood scrapings and strike a ferro rod.

    I bought 2 Rat 1 D2 versions in a pawn shop a few months ago in New condition. For $20.00 each. I am very impressed with this knife and I own expensive high end knives too. I keep gravitating towards this knife more and more. Thanx for the video my Bladed Brother 👍 ⚔️ ✝️ 🇺🇲

      This is still my favorite folder. Nice find on the two you bought.

    I got one of these a few years ago before they came out with the D2 steel version. My RAT 1 has Aus 8 and is a workhorse.

    Just like you, I got two. I carry one AUS8 serrated in my pocket or a Gerber Swagger half serrated. The second one is D2 plain blade edge. They are great knives, easy on the budget, good size handle and blade shape. Cheers from Canada.

    I just ordered a RAT 1 in D2 to see what the fuss was all about. Everyone I know who touches a RAT 1 or 2 , falls in love ! I hope I do to

      @ochocobushcraft1742 - RAT 1 arrived an hour ago...I was VERY pleased. I swore it was gonna feel "cheap" by the pics I saw...but, it feels solid, sturdy, cuts like a doctors scalpel, scary sharp out the box, perfectly centered, coyote brown looks better than I thought. Great action....I think I'm a fan now ! Thanks for replying

    Looks like a great folder for this type of work! Now you have got me interested in doing to my own folders! I have got either my home made 3 inch fixed blade or a CRKT very similar to your Rat 1. A great educational video again.

    Great knife I have the knife center exclusive version that has D2 steel and micarta handle scales, the kabar bk40 is now being offered in D2 also and if you haven't tried it I would definitely recommend it. I have a review on the cheaper one that they initially came out with and its solid, I baton in that video with it as well. The budget options are definitely getting better these days it seems, great review 👍

      Nice score on the micarta handle version! I'll check out your review on the bk40, and check into it. You can never have to many knives! LOL!

    They are awesome knives.
    Iv started fires, scaled fish, field dressed small game and did typical woodcraft with this knife its tough and they are easy to get back to sharp which is a bonus out in the field

    I got that knife a few months ago, I love it! Those were very good demonstrations, you are like me, when I like something that well I want a second one, enjoyed this video, btw, the Taiwan made is just as good quality as US made in my opinion

    Thanks Dan for a good review; this knife appears that it would be very useful for a reasonable price.

      I was really surprised. Some of the folders I have used cost a small fortune, yet performed no better, or in some cases, not as good.

    Good review Dan. I had the ESEE Avispa and Zancudo folders and sold them. Too light for me and not made very well. Both D2 steel. Just not like my Benchmade knives. Stay safe!!

    Thanks Dan. Those are great knives. Do you like them better than your cold steel bush ranger, or recon 1?

    • @ochocobushcraft1742
      @ochocobushcraft1742  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Much better than the Bush Ranger. I know the lock on my RECON 1 is stronger, so I trust it more. But the RAT 1 is more comfortable in my hand.
