I live on the Duck Valley Indian Reservation just a half mile from where he is digging. We are downstream from Mtn City. It’s crazy to see his device read the radioactive stuff. It’s leaking into our river and it has been since the 1958’s. One uranium mine is called the Race Track Mine

The uranium rush during the Cold War was soo messy. Far too little reclamation.

Do we forget about it or…is some one going to actually take responsibility for doing so? Because now it’s this lithium rush.. & WE NEED IT NOW! Just like the Cold War, the Green Energy Transition is bogus.
The rest of the country should know this before investing in Lithium. Now they’re fast-tracking lithium without consideration of how much “reclamation” trash is laying around out here.
Just because Wall Street doesn’t see it doesn’t make it go away..

Just so you’re aware just across the highway was a uranium mine run by Rio Tinto mining back in the day just straight across from where you’re at. It’s being reclaimed but you can drive over there. Some buildings and foundations still are around.

How about illegal dumping of radio active mining materials from the barrels you found. 🤔

    Gold is my favorite mineral

Not sure if its a specific rock/mineral as I find them on different rocks but I enjoy hounding for dendrites. Maybe you could do a short episode on those? Love the channel!

Dendrites are usually Manganese Oxide growths… maybe sometime in the future! Thank you for the support!!!

Ah, new tech. What's that little radioactive reader cost, and available (rock shop stores?) AND what is the threshold that says "RUN FOR YOUR LIFE"? You keep saying "high" readings from .75 "u" to 1.65. Thanks, by the way. Nevada is an incredible state. Do a video on those two Lithium valleys where all the action is on that mineral.

It’s called a Geiger Counter!!! Got it off of Amazon… haha. A dangerous threshold of radiation is usually above 6 usv/hr, but anything above 0.66 is considered high! 0.66 is about 6-12 times average background radiation. I would love to do a Lithium video sometime!!! Thanks for the support!!!

It makes sense as well, since the pieces you found at the bottom appear to have fractured off of the rock face up above, leaving what used to be inside of the rock exposed.
So if you find radioactive rocks, you might just be making it worse by chipping off a small "sample" to take home.

Do you have a FB page or other social media account? I wanted to post a pic of a rock I found and see if you could identify it. I did post it in a rockhounding group to see if they could, but I like the detail you give when identifying things. Just curious..... I'm sure someone will figure it out. PS. Just discovered your channel about a month ago and have been binge watching it since!.
