Good list + quality pen & paper. For me the beanie with suit could be subbed for a Baker Boy, Fedora, Trilby, Panama etc. If you have grey in that beard, then you could experiment with headwear. I worked at a law firm for over 30 years and a lot of people I worked with didn’t know the difference between suspenders and braces ( I preferred braces) with French cuffed shirts. Great content and information, keep feeding us brother 👍🏿💯👑
Dress chronographs with hand-wound movements can actually also be quite slim and a nice changeup from a dress watch, I've found. Love your GS, and best intro ever!
My brother Koji, what’s good? The guys that I’m talking to for the most part look at all watches like they’re the same and only care about namebrand. And yes, my baby Harlow knocked it out the park.
You're touching alot of brothers out here sir. I'm reading your comments and I hope you see your working action. I gave you a subtle shout out in one of my earlier videos. Keep up the good work.
Like how you added in the beanie. Not some much that the beanie itself is essential but the reasoning for it, that it's your own thing and you don't care what anyone thinks.
You are the Man. Keep the back behind you while moving forward. I live outside of Atlanta GA area. My friends have said to me on many occasions (where are you going all dressed up?) I say Nowhere. I have made plenty of my clothing purchases from Spier. I'm just a casual type of guy. All casual trousers and jeans are paired with Justin Fitzpatrick double monk shoes. Even if I'm just going to Walmart or any other store. Thanks putting on with your video, Shoes $300. Then, with Spier McKay. Take care
Thanks for another great video. I'm in WNY and man does a beanie work well during those cold months. I cannot go without one. I still haven't picked up a wood stick umbrella, it's on the list. They do look really good with classic mens wear. Have a blessed day my man...keep up all the hard work.
Fedoras do look really dapper but I never have to worry about my beanie flying off my head 😂😂. My wife got my wooden stick umbrella from Kent Wang. They’re priced pretty well too.
I've been waiting on a list like this! As I evaluate myself, I'm strong in about 10 of the 14 categories. The areas I'm lacking: 1. White pocket square - With well over 100 pocket squares in my collection, I do not own one that's all white. 2. Suspenders - I've always associated those with overweight men. 3. Woodstick umbrella- never knew I needed to up my umbrella game. 4. Gloves- I'm in Dallas, if we get to 30° that's really cold for us. We don't have subways and such...everyone here drives. So your exposure to the elements is roughly the time it takes to cross a parking lot. However, next winter, I will try to match my shoes with my gloves to upgrade my look. Love your videos man!!
What’s up, my brother? It’s funny you said that because all overweight men should be wearing suspenders. I always recommend that they float their trousers around their natural waist and hold it up with suspenders. A much more elegant look than what I see most of them do, which is getting smaller waisted trousers that fit under their bellies. As far as gloves, I would say that’s not needed in your climate. Having a true Fall and Winter here is part of what made me fall in love with Menswear. So many options.

one suggestion on the umbrella . Good one are pricey, so consider getting one with a straight handle vs the hook style, less chance of you leaving it hanging somewhere....
Brother your spot on… enjoyed it from Tokyo. Let me just add… a leather tote if you want to be a little more casual and traveling light instead of a briefcase… a linen sun umbrella in light blue and a Japanese foldable fan when it gets humid. I agree with the beanie, always have one in my bag in navy just in case a small rain unexpectedly shows up and I’m heading to a subway station, it gets windy, or I need a haircut and haven’t made it to my barber… lastly, a straw bucket hat for cruising around on the weekend. Gambatte kudasai!

Great list and advice. I especially appreciated you calling it how it is with regards to the elegance of dress watches vs the spy cosplay of sports watches with suits.
Thank you! That’s the one that gets the most push back and part of me understands why but at the same time, I’m not breaking new ground here. Dress watches are made for a reason.
@@v_r_ Not surprising considering the broad cultural appeal of the Bond character whom people feel a connection with and even admiration for. But I think there are better aspects of Bond’s look to adapt beyond a watch the film studio is promoting.
What's up Vlad ! Another great video. I'm a hat man from way back, I do love a fitted scully though. They're just the right amount of swag, and they let them know I'm " bout these streets " 😂 ✌️❤
Your list is excellent as always however, I believe you can add the icing on top with a nice fountain pen. When I go to a restaurant and pull it out it always gets attention. I have a $300 pen from Sailor. It's an excellent Japanese brand pen. Lastly a signet ring. I wear a simple gold ban on one hand an a signet ring on the other. It takes the look to the next level. Your thoughts? Anthony.
Daughters are so precious. My wife and I had 2 boys and thought we were done. So glad we tried one more time for a girl and got her. Couldn’t imagine my life right now without her.
Great video. I like the briefcase. So many good options. I had to resort to getting a doctor's bag (only thing that fits) that doubles as the way I carry my dress shoes to work. That way I can wear my drivers during my commute and stylishly carry my dress shoes in my doctor's bag/briefcase.
In Europe black tie is something that in theory should wear just in funeral. I know that in USA you wear black, in German as well you can see a bit but definitely not in Italy, France or UK. For me the two tie that work with all suits (all shades of blue, all shades of grey, and also brown) are green and red/Bordeaux. Those are the two tie that cover all.
You are so right about wood handled umbrellas, but be careful. I purchased one and admired it so much that a bought an umbrella stand to show it off. It looked lonely so I bought another to keep it company. I'm Italian and don't like the look of even numbers so . . . .
Ha…that’s funny. Crazy story is a girl at work asked me to use it when she was going outside in the rain and I obliged. Worst decision of my life, she broke the tip right off, I guess from banging it on the ground. I had to glue it back together. SMH
God bless you and your family. Subscribed. May I suggest a good fedora? This has to be a good one; not something people pick up from Target or Walmart.
@@v_r_ my favorite is from Akubra called Federation IV, they have another one called the Style Master. These will keep their composure when they are wet from rain or snow. They also have a n open crowned hat called the Campdraft that can be shaped with a front pinch.
Valdimir, tell us where we can buy a scarf similar to yours man. The European scarfs are a little different. Mine are typically italian silk and short in length. Let us know... Peace
@@v_r_ will do!! Thanks for the reply man. I'm looking to buy it for next Winter. It's Spring in the UK, but still wet and windy but longer days now. Peace
I would replace the beanie with a fedora…a dark brown and black. Something like Al Roker wears when he is outside. A beanie would look crazy on him…but TEHO.
I agree with Twelve of your Recommendations. I don't like carrying a brief case.. My father told me flunkies.carry brief cases but each to there own. You mentioned taking your coat off. For me a Gentleman never takes his coat off. Well if you're some place and the women take there dresses off you may look kind of strange if you still have your coat on. In that case well you figure that one out.
First, you know I gotta say Harlow is truly adorable the 14 essential wardrobe pieces excellent choices although you and I may end up having a Geneva Convention debate on whether or not to accessorize a suit with a beanie I guess because I'm a bit more "old school" I'll always argue in favor of the fedora thanks for the video Mr. Riche with that Outro!
You say a backpack will destroy the shoulders, what do you think about a drawsting bag? they can go over one shoulder like a sling or two like a backpack, will that destroy my shoulder?
Unfortunately I don’t know any tailor in Brooklyn that I’d recommend. Someone else asked me the same a couple weeks ago, I asked my cousins that live in Brooklyn and they used tailors by their work place in Manhattan.
The one featured in the video is from Shibumi. I also have one from X of Pentacles and it’s featured in this video starting at the 10:25 mark th-cam.com/video/WmoNj7JkwnQ/w-d-xo.html. The rest of them are all from Drake’s.
Have you ever given thought to partnering with S&M to have a line of socks and ties with your name on them. Your taste in both I think would appeal to all your followers who would certainly purchase them. Just a thought.
What’s up, Robert? I did partner with Aklasu which is a tie brand and did a nice collaboration with them. I just received the final package last week and will be filming the video this week. Please stay tuned!
No controversy, really. I think most agree beanie is fine. (Although I might not wear one to the court house.) I just think our host would look pretty sharp in one of his overcoats, a beautiful scarf, wood handled umbrella, vintage leather briefcase, all topped off with a quality flat cap. He'd own that look for sure!
There’s a certain stigma associated with Classic Menswear, it’s very pretentious. So when someone likes me comes along, some look at it like I don’t belong. It’s like they have an idea of who they want me to be and they don’t like it if I don’t fit in that box.
I think the rule matching the color of the leather of your shoes and belt is an American thing. I wear burgundy shoes a lot, and I have a couple of pairs of dark green and dark navy shoes, would I go to have to get belts in those colors? No, I would not. For those who are really worried about the color of their belt, I suggest using suspenders to get a cleaner and more elegant look. Anyway, really enjoy your video😉.
Thanks for your kind words. As far as matching colors, I don’t think one should go crazy but I’d say to stay within the same color family. Like a dark brown belt with burgundy shoes is just fine, in my opinion. But personally, I only wear suspenders so I only have to be concerned with my watch straps matching my shoes.
Bro, how you gonna ask your baby girl (who happens to be the baby of the three) are you doin' a good job? 😂 I mean, what did you think she was gonna say? Nah Daddy, you need to tighten up your game? 😂😂😂😂 Great video bro.
Quite a few I totally agree with, and also a few I wish to own but I couldn't. Not gonna say which ones they were, but let me just say that I wish I weren't living in a hot and humid region (I mean HOTTT hot)
Excellent video, but a few points of respectful disagreement: (1) It's a little hypocritical to ridicule and admonish backpacks with tailoring, but in the same video, recommend beanies with it. I say, either is fine as long as you think you make it look cool. But you have to call both practices childish or neither, but be consistent. Companies like Tumi and Montblanc make some stylish backpacks made for dressier occasions. Backpacks serve different purposes than brief cases and some people carry both. Lawyers and financiers carry heavy books and files sometimes and many use backpacks as a practical matter; (2) I have a Vacheron Constantin Overseas Chrono that's every bit dressy as any "dress" watch and my shirt tailor makes by shirt cuffs purposely so that they fit all my watches. You can adjust the buttons on any shirt to fit your watch and as long as the watch is "dressy", it should work; (3) finally, depending on your profession of course, don't ever wear a pocket square to a job interview for the same reason you wouldn't wear cuff links, monogram clothing, or pinky rings - it's too flashy. And you don't want to come across as flamboyant in an interview. After you get the job, have at it. If you're in the clothing industry or real estate or Pham sales...maybe, you can do these things and get aways with it, but I wouldn't recommend it at all. Wearing a pocket square is industry specific. Of course when you're on your own time, you should wear one. But, for example, and despite what you might see in movies, pocket squares are not worn on wall street. It comes off as slick, an image you don't want.
I appreciate the comment and I agree with a lot of it but you definitely lost me by comparing a beanie to a backpack. I know many stylish men that wears beanies to keep their heads warm. Not to mention, the people that I’m really trying to reach, like myself love a beanie and they can relate to it so maybe it’s a cultural thing. And to be honest, that’s all I mostly care about. Lastly, not only is a backpack with a suit just looks weird and school boyish, but as I said it’s damaging to the shoulders of the jacket. So whether we agree or disagree, that’s a fact. I can’t recall ever seeing a stylish man with a backpack on. Regarding the watch, as I said it’s a personal thing so if you think that your VC looks great with tailoring and fits nicely underneath your shirt cuff, then I’m not talking to you. I see way too many guys on a daily basis wear 44mm chronos/divers because they think it will be more noticeable. I’m talking to those guys. And those types of watches, even using the second button on their dress shirt won’t cut it. PS: all my custom shirts have a larger left cuff and I’ve mentioned it on the episode about custom dress shirts about 3 years ago. I can agree with the PS although I don’t think that a white one is flashy at all but I guess it depends on the job you’re going for. I read somewhere that you can always recognize a sartorial addict as he’s the only one that will have to dress down for a job interview. And I couldn’t agree more.
Pretty good. Only one thing I'd omit, and that's the briefcase. I'm not a lawyer. And I don't have a job that requires me to carry papers, folders, or documents of any sort. But that's just me. Nothing wrong with a briefcase if you're a lawyer, or maybe a school teacher or university professor. I'm just saying I don't see the need for one.

Good list + quality pen & paper. For me the beanie with suit could be subbed for a Baker Boy, Fedora, Trilby, Panama etc. If you have grey in that beard, then you could experiment with headwear. They protect from cold/rain/heat, add height, look different to the ordinary and you can tip them in deference. Correct me if I'm wrong, but many wore them in the Caribbean so its a subtle nod to bygone days yet timeless. Pre-owned they can be picked up for a song.

Ha…that’s funny. Crazy story is a girl at work asked me to use it when she was going outside in the rain and I obliged. Worst decision of my life, she broke the tip right off, I guess from banging it on the ground. I had to glue it back together. SMH
Och!
God bless you and your family. Subscribed. May I suggest a good fedora? This has to be a good one; not something people pick up from Target or Walmart.
Thanks, fam! Which fedora did you have in mind?
@@v_r_ my favorite is from Akubra called Federation IV, they have another one called the Style Master. These will keep their composure when they are wet from rain or snow. They also have a n open crowned hat called the Campdraft that can be shaped with a front pinch.
After a plain, white pocket square, your second one should be a patterned burgundy pocket square...goes with almost anything!
Valdimir, tell us where we can buy a scarf similar to yours man. The European scarfs are a little different. Mine are typically italian silk and short in length. Let us know... Peace
What’s up, Fabian? I just added some links to the description. Let me know if you have any questions
Wooden Stick Umbrella 👌🏾👌🏾
🙌🏾🙌🏾
15 A Fedora
I agree with Twelve of your Recommendations. I don't like carrying a brief case.. My father told me flunkies.carry brief cases but each to there own. You mentioned taking your coat off. For me a Gentleman never takes his coat off. Well if you're some place and the women take there dresses off you may look kind of strange if you still have your coat on. In that case well you figure that one out.
Love you, gentleman
🙏🏾🙏🏾
Vladimir, Thanks for the great video. Are there any other similar scarf brands you would recommend?
Thank you! I’ve listed a couple other brands in the description.
@@v_r_ Thank!
what about cologne?
First, you know I gotta say Harlow is truly adorable the 14 essential wardrobe pieces excellent choices although you and I may end up having a Geneva Convention debate on whether or not to accessorize a suit with a beanie I guess because I'm a bit more "old school" I'll always argue in favor of the fedora thanks for the video Mr. Riche with that Outro!
I appreciate your comment as always, Frank! Harlow stole the show, of course.
Great list Vlad! Where is your go to for Peccary gloves?
What’s up, Tommy? Check No Man Walks Alone and Skolyx.
I checked them out, they are both great options. Thx Vlad
You’re welcome!
Well I feel better about myself :-) . I have everything on this list.
You say a backpack will destroy the shoulders, what do you think about a drawsting bag? they can go over one shoulder like a sling or two like a backpack, will that destroy my shoulder?
Hey bro…I’m in BK. Can u recommend a tailor?
Unfortunately I don’t know any tailor in Brooklyn that I’d recommend. Someone else asked me the same a couple weeks ago, I asked my cousins that live in Brooklyn and they used tailors by their work place in Manhattan.
Where do you buy your scarves??
The one featured in the video is from Shibumi. I also have one from X of Pentacles and it’s featured in this video starting at the 10:25 mark th-cam.com/video/WmoNj7JkwnQ/w-d-xo.html. The rest of them are all from Drake’s.
What part of Brooklyn are you from?
I’m not from Brooklyn. I was born in the South Bronx but I’m actually from Spring Valley which is about 25 miles from the Bronx in the suburbs.
Baby Girl is taking over and no push back from daddy 😂 tell me how Chase and Rider feel
They don’t know yet but they will not be happy 😂😂
Have you ever given thought to partnering with S&M to have a line of socks and ties with your name on them. Your taste in both I think would appeal to all your followers who would certainly purchase them. Just a thought.
What’s up, Robert? I did partner with Aklasu which is a tie brand and did a nice collaboration with them. I just received the final package last week and will be filming the video this week. Please stay tuned!
@@v_r_ just went on their site. Really nice and affordable. I’ll be ordering. Good job ( as always)
Thanks in advance, fam! I’m very excited to see my viewers’ response to it as it’s my first product and I think it’s great.
She's a sweetheart - bless you all :-)
Thanks, Tony! Couldn’t imagine life without her.
😆I don't get the controversy with the beanie, I've seen plenty of style guys wearing it, permanent style London, Don's club ect..🔥🙌
??? Oh, you fit in exceptionally well!
What do you think about fedoras and classic hats? One of those things where people got a lot to say in the comments, but never in person
You went from Essential 2 to Essential 4! 🙂
I plead guilty of not owning suspenders, briefcase, dressy duffle bag and owning a chronograph watch that I never wear haha!
Harlow finally speaks!
In due time, fam LOL! But yes, my baby is all grown up.
Frank bags are🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Especially the harness signature duffle
The money clip from Satchel and page🔥
FC makes some really nice stuff, man!
Fam Dynasty..❤
Haha…yup!
Bro, how you gonna ask your baby girl (who happens to be the baby of the three) are you doin' a good job? 😂 I mean, what did you think she was gonna say? Nah Daddy, you need to tighten up your game? 😂😂😂😂 Great video bro.
Haha…a daddy’s girl for sure, bro! I was rubbing the outro in my wife’s face all day 😂😂
Quite a few I totally agree with, and also a few I wish to own but I couldn't. Not gonna say which ones they were, but let me just say that I wish I weren't living in a hot and humid region (I mean HOTTT hot)
Good morning brother..u love your daughter...bravo....August 2021 i walked my daughter down the aisle.....in 20 plus years u will do the same...peace
I’m afraid to ask how fast did those years fly by. But yes, that’s my girl. No clue what I would do without her in my life.
Popcorn is ready......... Intro!!! UK stand up
Excellent video, but a few points of respectful disagreement: (1) It's a little hypocritical to ridicule and admonish backpacks with tailoring, but in the same video, recommend beanies with it.
Backpack and a suit is a big No. doesn’t water how fancy the backpack looks. It’s just a big No.
Not just any kind of timepiece. Every stylish man should own a classic timepiece with a leather or alligator strap.
Yes sir, 100%! I always recommend a dress watch at 38mm or less with tailoring. Unless you have a huge wrist then size up accordingly.
They are called skull caps and beanie
What colour is your shirt fam?
It’s a Spier & Mackay custom shirt and the exact color is called Sky Blue Fine Twill.
@Vladimir Riché it's a nice colour which goes with a few suit options. Good looking out
🔥🔥🔥

All the kids are stars in the making….but for the beanie….😞do you, I’m a fedora dude 😊
What up, AD? I’ll get around to Fedoras at some point.
