I have very much enjoyed this channel. Such mutual love and respect is such a rarity for me to observe that it brings me back time and again. Well done and all the best!
I work on a 6 star cruise ship and I have to dress in a suit every night. I haven't worked for 16 months and I finally get to wear them again next week, so your channel is so welcome. Very inspiring.
Sounds like fun. But From the bad accidents I have seen, I do not trust that the cruise shps have practiced their safety well enough. Do you have enough lifeboats?
Dear Hugo. I recently bought your books (Parisian / Italian Gentleman). Many congratulations!!! Beautiful pieces of art! I just started on my Sartorial journey at the age of 52. Your books and videos are an absolute inspiration (necessaty!) on my trajectory to a more grown up style. (no more sneakers-jeans-hoodies ;-))
“Sartorial Sidekicks.” Nicely done, Sonya. I also got a chuckle at the “piece of crap” comment by Hugo. I know Hugo was just saying that phrase as an example but you (Sonya) were clearly thrown off on that one LOL. Then Hugo says “did I say crap?” 😂😂😂 so much fun. Looking forward to more videos.
Many of these things you should also keep in your office/workplace. I have extra buttons, a tie, thread, a shoe horn, and although not mentioned here some rubber booties to cover my shoes in case of rain. I also highly recommend the Saphir products. Saphir seems expensive compared to others but that little jar of Renovator will last two to three times longer than a larger bottle of comparable Bicks and it works better.
Thanks Leo, we agreed to both wear pink shirts, but the blue jackets were not planned, as we both dress according to our last minute mood. All our best, Hugo & Sonya
I keep a Japanese hand towel with me. It's just a small square of towel fabric. My favorite one is Givenchy brand. Used in Japan mostly due to their not having paper towels in bathroom (they consider that wasteful) also handy on a very hot day.
Its amazing how much I value good collar stays - I have a pair of brass ones that I love (but they can mark the material). Silver ones are lovely too but plastic ones are so simple and affordable, but all are essential to hold the collar neatly.
This may sound dramatic but I gasped when I saw the glasses case/pocket square, truly brilliant and ingenious design and functionality mixed with elegance, love it!
Loved this! The more I travel the more I enjoy making discoveries that make travel more comfortable! My favorite tip: traveling with a ‘Night Light’ to plug into the electrical outlet in or near the Bathroom to softly lighten a strange dark room and to avoid the blinding light when using the facilities in the middle of the night!
So wonderful to see you two again! Just love both of You! Congratulations on your award. Well done. BRAVO!!! All Hugo didn't pull out of his briefcase was a rabbit LOL!
Hugo! I made a comment about the collars on your shirts being to wide and how I was not a fan of this style. Today you have redeemed yourself. Wonderful shirt and collar! Bravo 👏
Great episode! Magnetic collar stays like "Wurkin' Stiffs" are a great accessory to any wardrobe. Can't really pair them with ties, but they are a great way to make your collar pop, so to speak, on a more casual outfit. Cheers!

Interesting video. Another accessory for travel is definitely a travel iron steamer. So many European hotels, including 5 star hotels do not encourage ironing. I always like to iron my own clothes, having worked with a master tailor and have heard horror stories of damaged suits from hotel cleaning services.
I have a small 5 cm shoehorn in cognac leather. Very easy to take in my work briefcase in case I ever need it. For example if I go shopping for new pants after work
Great list. An idea for a future episode: Printed silk dress scarves - not long ones but the shorter more decorative type that can be worn with a suit to enhance the look.
@@SARTORIALTALKS Thanks for the reply. I was thinking more of a rectangular scarf that drapes around the neck and falls straight down, but does not go past the waist or even shorter. Maybe you could combine both. Love what you two are doing with Sartorial Talks.
I use plastic shoetrees, but to deal with moisture and sweat, I use old newspapers and just stuff them inside for few hours and replace them with the shoetrees afterwards. And for collarstays, aside from the plastic ones that I will always end up losing them, I also use other various items that can fit into the slot, ranging from paperclips to toothpicks.

Hi folks, Congratulations on your wonderful achievement. I have a job interview tomorrow for a business lecturer. I’ll be wearing my charcoal coloured suit. Should I wear a bright coloured tie or a tie in muted colours? M.
As always, great advise & great looks. Speaking of which: Since Hugo mentioned he wanted to be a rockstar when he was young, and seeing how some of the strands of hair frame his face here, and that combined with those glasses: I really believe Hugo could rock a pair of sharply pointed sideburns al'a Anthony Bridgerton.
When I was a child we were all getting dressed for Easter church and found we didn't have a shoe horn. The emergency item for this instance is a tablespoon.
Dear Jan, we tackle this subject (and this emergency solution) in the next episode to be released on this channel called "Sartorial Emergencies". Best, Hugo
Hiya from England. One of your previous video posts recommend SAPHIR for shoe care. I purchased some last year and i am so pleased with the end results. It just makes my shoes look NEW. I love buying vintage Salvatore Ferragamo and Christian Dior shoes from the 70's and 80's The Suit Bag - This would be a good investment and last a life time. Are there any suppliers in the UK?

Well, the overhead works most of the time. Cheers, Hugo
Hahaha, never thought of that my friend 😂😂 ! Hugo
Simple but brilliant!
Thanks Woody! The Jacomets
I think the drawing on the glass cleaner is a young YSL! 😊
Yes Marco. It is the famous photo of YSL by Jean Loup Sieff. Actually YSL is totally naked except he's wearing a pair of Bonnet glasses. Cheers, Hugo
When I was a child we were all getting dressed for Easter church and found we didn't have a shoe horn. The emergency item for this instance is a tablespoon.
We don't have a shoe horn so I do the exact same :O
Dear Jan, we tackle this subject (and this emergency solution) in the next episode to be released on this channel called "Sartorial Emergencies". Best, Hugo
Credit/debit cards work great.

Hiya from England.
One of your previous video posts recommend SAPHIR for shoe care. I purchased some last year and i am so pleased with the end results. It just makes my shoes look NEW. I love buying vintage Salvatore Ferragamo and Christian Dior shoes from the 70's and 80's
The Suit Bag - This would be a good investment and last a life time. Are there any suppliers in the UK?
Excellent!!!! Cheers to both of you
