Absolutely love the game. After nearly 170 hours I STILL haven't done everything on my first playthrough and can only say that it exceeded almost every single one of my expectations. Can't wait to see what the DLC story has in store for us.
Love and sadness in the same time. Love cuz story, music, gameplay... Charming feelings then you are in the game. Sadness cuz no endless now anymore, game passed, but... i just need more of this story. Even 160hrs is not enough!
My feelings on this game have only grown stronger over the months following me beating the game. Easily my game of the year. No other game this year has everything I look for in a game: quality gameplay, gripping story, enchanting music, beautiful world design and presentation. People shouldn't sleep on this one. Thanks for all the coverage leading up to release and your streams were fun to watch too!

Tbh i think a huge reason people didn't like the soundtrack as much was because people didn't really hear the night themes (when you fast travelled it set your time and by default it would set it to morning) Anyways I do like this game a lot and this video is pretty cool, criminally underrated in fact, should've had 5k views so far smh, you worked so hard on this and I can really tell. Especially with you using the XC3 UI thingy for the video chapter names and all and the script too Also Ethel
Ethel, man. I especially love this OST. The whole 12 hours of pure emotions contains in it, damn. It's just sparking amazing! And ye, about VA and characters... I missing them, their identities, chating styles and emotions are dope. I wanna know the end of everyone's story. I hope they will show us largest epilogue ever.
Ethel, also amazing video Aero! If I would to choose a video that sums up my thoughts on Xc3 it’d be this one for sure. This game being the one that brought me into the series while always hold a special place in my heart. Sure Xc1 is still my favorite but that does not mean I don’t love the others as well (I wanted it to beat out Xc1 for me 😭). One of my favorite things is how simplified it is compared to other Xenoblade games, and since my second favorite thing about the series is the combat, it also incredible how it managed to mix the best parts of Xc1 and Xc2’s combat as well. These are pretty much thoughts non-spoiler wise, and again good job on the vid Aero excited for the story one!
I've played Xenoblade Chronicles 3 for over 200 hours since it came out, finished the main story in September, and have just been doing side content since then. I absolutely love this game! I'll probably do a New Game+ speedrun sometime soon, just for fun
Ayyy, been waiting for this! Happy I can finally dig in! Edit: One point I feel a bit differently on is the voice acting, I think it's absolutely amazing in this game. Yes, Adam Howden as Shulk is legendary, but to me personally, XC3 absolutely did manage to match XC1's quality in voice acting overall. No single character manages to hit the same hights as Shulk consistently (though I think N and Mio are examples for characters that punctually come really close), but the fact that most non-side characters are acting on a very high level throughout the whole game and more often than not get multiple chances to shine makes this aspect go toe to toe with XC1 to me, which is a pretty huge achievement.

It's really funny that I see some things the other way around. I played 3 first, then 1 DE and 2. I found the overworld music in 1 and 3 partly too cheerfully and adventurous or the surrundings! Also the B button action. I was overwhelmed by these at first and paniced a lot xD "where is the B button, ahhhhhh" xD
Nah, the ambiental music while traversing the game's areas is majestic, is beautiful and it fits not only the environment but also the story. When playing this game I feel like I am playing Chained Echoes, and I am saying this in the best way possible. Both XC3 and Chained Echoes are in my top 15 games of all time, and I played hundreds of them at this point.

I never thought I’d play this game but last night I was at Walmart and saw the physical game was $30 (which is significantly cheaper than everywhere else) so I caved and bought it. Now I begin my journey starting at the 3rd one
i much prefer xc2 for both gameplay and story actually but man... xc3 chain attacks are perfect, best thing in the franchise by far gameplay wise... even though, i beg to differ, this are the most broken of the entire series, you can kill anything from full health with no setup (like the orbs in xc2) as long as the party is properly built for that purpose... what was the record again? 400 milion? yeah, there is not a single enemy in the game that can survive a properly done chain attack once you are in the endgame with a good build
Very well put together and scripted video man. I just finished the main story and so am now on my typical 'seek out TH-cam videos on the game now that I dont need to avoid spoilers' trek and I have to say yours is probably the best video I've seen on the game so far. I often get a bit tired of longer videos when I feel people are just padding out their runtime in lieu of more concise scripts and editing, but yours was compelling all the way through. Also thank you for not trying to be funny every 10 seconds. Shit is so grating. lol
I love Xenoblade 3 as well and appreciate the thought out into this video. I put this video on to convince my husband whose never played one before, but he found the comparisons between the other games confusing and long winded. I would’ve probably titled this “Xenoblade 3 vs 1 and 2” or something.
I've played and complete Xenoblade Chronicle Definitive edition and is a great game with good story. I then played Xenoblade 2 and i reckon I'm around 50% into the game and I never really got into the game. Not sure why but I think is to do with the messy UX in certain area that puts me off and battle seems to take forever compare to xenoblade 1. I've recently bought xenoblade 3 and i hope is better then xenobade 2.
I love this game, and this series. The music for the series is gorgeous. One of my favs from this one is A Step Away, which plays in Chapter 5 during THAT scene (you know the one). Also the end credit song. They're both vocal tracks. They're really beautiful, sung by top-notch people. The instrumental ones are great of course, but most of them don't pull at me the way the vocal ones do, (except for Thoughts Enshrined from 1. I CANNOT hear that one without tearing up).
Great review of the game. Only point I disagree with is the Chain Attacks in 3 not being as brokenly powerful as those of 2. They are. In fact, I'd argue they're even more busted because you don't even need to set up the proper Blade combo orbs before launching it, just race to fill your meter and you'll overkill the enemy 98% of the time if you know what you're doing.
Playing on Hard goes a long way to fixing this issue, also not using 'broken' hero characters like Ashera all the time. But yea, it is unfortunately a game where I think you need to do some self-imposed limits to keep the game challenging. Cant understand why they didn't just give us ability to Level our characters from the start ala XB1 DE's Expert Mode.
My first xenoblade and absolutely loving it! Close to 60 hours in and it's fantastic....I'm kind of annoyed with myself for not starting with the first one now, wondering if it's worth playing the other two after I finish this?
The first one is gonna be hard to go back to in a number of ways. It's still a great game, but it's likely gonna feel quite simplified compared to XB2 and XB3. XB2 is definitely not simplified and so will probably feel most 'similar' to XB3, but the technical aspects of the game are also quite a bit rougher and it's simply not as refined and has less quality of life advantages that will irk after coming from XB3. Still, you do need to play them if you loved XB3. I'd go back to the first game, then to the second as a finale.
Honestly same. At first I didn't enjoy them quite as much as the past games', but after listening to them for a couple dozen times or so, I grew to enjoy them just as much as the past games', but for different reasons. Also for me personally, being able to easily memorize the melodies isn't really a high priority when it comes to music, so it doesn't really matter to me that they're not "memorable".

Xenoblade has taken over as my absolute favorite RPG series, filling the void Final Fantasy abandoned long ago.
There hasn’t been a new game that hit me the same way as this one did. Xenoblade series is one of my modern favorites.
