I’ve really enjoyed your vlogs bc u r so open and honest. My mindset has changed about thinking that I need to buy my kids everything I always wanted when I was a child, but never had. I’ve bought my 21 month old so many things and she can’t even talk yet. I’m getting a grip on myself and watching your vlogs have really helped me.

This year I changed completely. I don't have dept but I am not financially good now so I use credit card to be able to eat. I became minimalist officially Dec last year and this year I decluttered 90 % of my stuff and I don't follow other peoples taste. I have budget list now and so far I'm in control accept the financial problem that was coursed my the government so I must await

I love your videos, can I give you some feedback from a viewer to a content provider perspective. Your content is excellent, a lot of people will be able to relate and gain value from it, however I find the spliced in video’s between points distracting and unnecessary and they actually break up your flow and the impact of the delivery of your message is minimized by then a little.
Otherwise keep up the great work!

I'm debt-free as of THIS MORNING! Even with job insecurity over the last couple of years, I never missed payments, as I made those my first priority. Thanks to content/channels like yours, I was able to stay focused and keep moving forward. Thank you!

I think my biggest mindset change this year is living by the rule that there is a large difference between what I can actually afford and what I budget for. For example could I actually afford a much more expensive car than I drive, or buy that amazing winter jacket I want so bad right now...yup...but if I chose to give my $ to that then I can’t budget as much to put into my long term savings or charitable donations which I build right into my budget each pay period. It’s a matter of priorities for me and I just can’t in good conscious choose to spend more on say a lease payment rather than giving to the food bank or animal shelters knowing that others need so much more than myself...choices. I live by my budget and it’s so freeing rather than restrictive! Because I budget I am amassing savings and helping others while also living a comfortable lifestyle. I don’t fall into the retail trap and didn’t spend a dime during the Black Friday/cyber Monday craziness! It was so liberating to simply delete about 500 promo emails and just breath knowing I wasn’t getting myself into trouble. I love how open you are with your debt talks! Very relevant info! ❤️

I am starting a debt free journal filled with advice (a lot from you) to keep in my purse. I'm also going on a low buy next year and giving myself a monthyl spending allowance in cash to curb credit card usage and impulse shopping. I'm also starting a short video series on my youtube cataloging my collection and talking about my makeup addiction. My goal is that making the series will help me spend less or not buy anything at all. I have everything I need

Oh my gosh, huge congratulations on your debt repayment, you did SO well !!! But i'm quite mind boggled at 120 000 in student loan debt, which is the price of a modest house, here in Belgium, where I studied and got my Masters degree in sociology for roughly 1000€ per year in tuition fees (not including books and obviously not including housing etc). Of course, now I contribute a lot through my taxes, and I am happy to, for health care, education, etc. I thought Canada was similar in regards to education. Did you study abroad, maybe in the US ? Anyways, well done you, babe, you're almost there ! Debt free ! 💋

I luv talking 'Money' with others, cuz my family never talked about it and I was not educated in 'Money' - made SO many bad money mistakes when I was younger. 'Money' (financial) education is so important and discussing 'Money' shouldn't be taboo (cuz we learn so much from each other). No one should be 'ashamed' of their debt - debt happens like shit happens - but learn how to get out of and stay out of debt.

Love this content! It’s so empowering. I’m not in debt but I also don’t have any assets so over the last year I’ve really been working on saving more and not just spending mindlessly. One of my shifts this year was that I need to look at my finances more often (all my accounts) instead of shying away from checking. This year I also learned it’s ok to ask for help, whether it’s talking to friends about their money tips, talking to my parents about their finance journey and getting help from an financial advisor. I’m so proud of myself for finally getting my shit together and kicking myself for not doing it sooner.

I would love to release from this heaviness and start to live my debt-free life. I'm sure it will happen some day. For now I watch your videos and this is a huge support for me. Thank you for being so true and honest. We'll get through this!

  • @ingridcain

Awesome video! Can relate to so many of the things you mention...the fear of facing up to your debt, using credit as a cushion, telling myself that I will never have to worry, I don’t have kids so I can die in debt...when in reality I am working more and more to make credit card companies and banks richer, while I become poorer... I want the freedom that comes with being debt free - I owe slightly more than you - but I’m just going to have to be creative and disciplined and patient. Keep you eye on the big prize - financial freedom - and do the right thing with your money. Media, influencers are all working against you - they want to sell you stuff. Thank you for speaking truth.

Welcome to adulthood! Money & you are tightly woven together; if your finances are a mess, you are a mess.& vice versa. Sorting out your finances is SO empowering, building your net-worth is so empowering, money gives you options (especially for women) - As per the goddess Suze Orman, debt is servitude, live below your means but within your needs (& carefully examine those needs!), treat CC like high-interest short-term loan, aww there are so many money lessons. Thanks for the excellent video and congrats!!

This is so helpful! I really appreciate your content. As a grad student, getting out of debt is not an option bc my pay is not enough to live on. For me, currently, it’s about trying not to get into more debt. I will pay it off and I know that, but I am ready to start making different choices with my money and my mindset so that when I do have good pay coming out of this student phase I will know how to pay off what I owe ✨ Thank you for normalizing and being honest and clear.

Great video! I am really good at coming up with stuff I "need" so when the impulse comes, I have started to actively think about the fact that actually I managed quite well without the thing in the first place. Of course there is stuff I do need but this helps me separate the two: wants and needs. Also doing this I noticed that I forget most of the stuff I "needed". I'm not a native english speaker so hopefully you get the idea (surpirisingly hard to explain these things in another language😄).

Anytime I feel I need to buy something just because, I always revisit your videos to get a reality check! One thing I have learned to do is use my credit card for everything in order to get the points but immediately afterwards transfer money onto the card so I don’t accrue a balance. It keeps me accountable to physically make each transfer per item and it means I get to earn cash but never pay interest. I kind of feel like they are paying me to use their card in a way. 😄

Hi Christina! When you spoke about credit cards and how they are not money and how you were using them, I thought to myself “What is the best way to use your credit card?” 🤔 sounds like I need you to make another video! 😉 I think sometimes it’s best when we add good habits instead of always just struggling to break bad ones! I’d love to hear some tips on how to use credit cards (the necessary evil to maintain good credit). Thanks! Great job on the content as usual!! ❤️😃

I am not in debt, but I am trying to put away money to buy my own apartment, I moved to a well paid job, but at some point I started buying more expensive brands, so again the money I put away are not enough. It's totally about bad money management from my side, not about revenu. Greetings from Bulgaria

I don’t! Premium I think only works for US banks so I enter everything manually every single day lol - It seems annoying at first but do it so often now it’s a habit and I prefer the manual entry bc I feel it keeps me more conscious of the spending!

@@Christinamychas ooh I love that. It seems daunting to me because I'm a freelancer and I have to put aside money for taxes and my income varies a lot... gotta stick with it

Wondering how you feel about keeping a little bit of student debt in order to keep one’s credit score high?
