  • In this video, I'm super excited to show you how you can start exploring and creating Augmented Reality (AR) interfaces for devices like the Apple Vision Pro. We will have a great time together as we dive into the world of AR and build an NFT website.
    AR is incredible-it allows us to seamlessly blend virtual elements with our real-world surroundings, and the Apple Vision Pro has the potential (since it's not yet released 😅) to empower us in crafting immersive AR experiences.
    Whether you're an experienced designer or simply someone curious about this exciting technology, I aim to ignite that curiosity within you to begin exploring this new world of Augmented Reality (AR).
    Please let me know in the comments what you think about this idea. Do you believe we should start exploring AR designs in Figma, or should we wait for these headsets to hit the market first?

    I'm curious why you mention a couple times "vr is not here yet".. It's been here for longer than I can remember, just not by Apple ^^'

      Hey 👋! You're absolutely right! VR it’s been here for ages…I remember when HTC rolled out their Vive headset back in the day. But this is what I meant by stating that "VR is not here yet" is not yet mainstream, it does not have a wide adoption among the population. Yes is heavenly used for gaming and training purposes, but you don't see a lot of people purchasing this if they don't know anything about technology. But with this in mind, I think that now companies like Apple, Google and Meta (unfortunately...hate that company 🤢) can make it available to a wider audience. And that's because they stopped marketing it towards tech-savvy individuals. What Apple is good at is taking technology that seems complex and making it simple and accessible so that anyone can use it. Look my grandparents now are in their 70s and unfortunately, because we live in different countries I can only see them once or twice a year, so If I'm lucky I will probably see them a couple of more times before they pass away 🥺. So if someone will offer me the possibility to be able to have a more immersive experience with them while I'm away I think it will be worth every single penny, and I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one in this situation. The moment VR/AR will not be all about killing zombies and flying through space and all about human connection, that's when "VR will be here" that's the moment when you will start seeing these headsets everywhere, that's when the "revolution" will start. And Apple at the current moment is the only company that can break the ice in this direction. If they succeed the rest will follow 😊. Long winded response 😅 but you caught me in a good mood to write. Thanks for the comment and I hope this answers your question 😊

      Having just attended a 2 day VR conference yesterday, and being a VR developer, He's Right. VR isn't here yet. Go outside. Count how many people you see with headsets on. That was our joke yesterday. Even at the conference. Count how many people ... attendees even... that had headsets on. AT.A.VR.CONFERENCE! lol.

      @@DennisLeoca I disagree with this. The moment a company is able to reduce the price of headsets and get it into the hands of EVERYONE and not just the financially privileged.... (remember... there are whole continents of ppl that can't afford the luxury of a basic headset... and THEN BUYING GAME SUBSCRIPTIONS EACH MONTH?) lol... that's who will conquer the market... and so far, Meta/Quest is winning... not Apple... because Apple is Highly overpriced for what it actually does. (Even here in Canada... with the exchange rate, the $3000 apple headset costs $5000.00) 😳

    Hi, When your courses are coming out?

      Hey 👋! I’m active working on this, I cannot give you an exact estimate yet but the Research Course and Figma Masterclass are scheduled to go live on the website in a few months. I apologize for not being able to give an exact estimate but I want to take my time and make sure that I cover everything I’ve learned during my career, from interview tips, to resources, tips and tricks,…etc. Basically everything you will need to become one of the best designers out there. I want to create a group of elite designers that will dominate the market not just teach you basic stuff that you can find on google 😅. I will make a video soon to give you all an update. Thank you again for your interest and I hope that the wait will be worth it.

    How to you deal with scale? For 2D design we have fixed resolutions of screen but in mixed reality scale be can anything. how do you determine what should be the minimum font size, icon size, clickable area and so on…?

      That’s a very good question!
      Although I cannot answer the exact question. A good resource I can recommend reading is: developer.apple.com/design/human-interface-guidelines/designing-for-visionos
      I’m currently going through it myself 😅. So if I find something about your question will let you know 😅

    Hmm… now im confused. I want to learn Ux/Ui design but as VR/AR reality is coming will UX/UI be soon expired ?

    • @DennisLeoca
      @DennisLeoca  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That's a very good question! Honestly, I believe that UX/UI Design, as you know it today, will undergo some changes, but it won't become obsolete in any way.
      The fundamental principles you learn for creating engaging user experiences and interfaces will remain unchanged.
      For instance, even if you're designing for AR/VR, you'll still need to know how to create accessible designs, understand information architecture, grasp color theory, conduct user testing sessions, and uncover user needs... etc.
      The only things that will change are the mediums you design for and how users interact with your designs... and perhaps the software you'll use. So, there will be some slight changes, but the core theories and principles will remain the same.
      Here's a great video you can watch to get an idea of how things might change when designing for AR: developer.apple.com/videos/play/wwdc2023/10076/.
      In my opinion, AR Experience and VR Experience will essentially be the same thing as UX/UI Design but with a different name, much like how UX/UI Designers were called Web Designers back in the day 😅
      But I'm keeping as well a close eye on how the industry is evolving .
      So rest assure if I find something interesting worth sharing, you guys will be amongst the first ones to know about it 😊
      Hope this helps, if you have any more questions, feel free to reach out. Happy to help!

    So the takeaway is use gradients in borders to make elements stand out over different views. Did we need to watch you build something from scratch for 90% of the video 16:09

    • @condustasanchez
      @condustasanchez หลายเดือนก่อน

      Also since this is a video about visibility over various fields of view, is there a reason why you didn’t mention accessibility requirements in various scenarios? I’m pretty sure the secondary button will not even meet accessibility in the majority of compositions you chose

    Where is ar vr ???

    • @DennisLeoca
      @DennisLeoca  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      AR stands for Augmented Reality and VR stand for Virtual Reality.
      As a quick way of explaining it: Augmented Reality (AR) overlays digital content onto the real world, while Virtual Reality (VR) creates a completely immersive digital environment. AR adds to reality, VR replaces it.
