For those curious about the diminished passing chords he uses a lot .They are just stacked 3rd’s meaning it is the exact same chord 3 frets up or down just arranged in a different order. Little hack on diminished chords. Fantastic playing and video as per usual!
You have absolutely perfected the guitar teacher camera setup. All fretboard shot should be done like that. I could see which fingers hit which which strings and when and it's close to the player's line of sight. Bravo!
Thousands of R&B/Soul songs comes directly out of that simple progression. Isley Bros, Ray Parker, Jr. BarKays, Cameo, Brick, Prince, Brothers Johnson, EWF and countless others made a living with these Holy Grail chords. 👊🏾
Your playing is always so tasty and you have your own sound which is something I hope I can get to one day. Really liked how you used the chromatic runs and those diminished chords that fitted so perfectly. Thanks for posting and sharing.
Great stuff as always!! I see that you played all the chords in the key of F Major. Recycling as you said the different chord options in the key. I’m still trying grasp when it is you decided to use the diminished. Between the 2 & 3 chord or 3 & 4 chord??
I may be the only one but I will love to know where the root is for these chords. I understand that your not necessarily hit beginners, and I wouldn't consider myself a beginner but it's hard for me to figure out where the roots are for each shape.
What's your approach to embellishing chord progressions? Post below.
great lesson! i like to use "parallel motion" to step between chords.
Relative major/minor triads, triad pairs

I was listening to this and heard some chords or progression that sounds like quartet. Do you ever do quartet or have any videos on quartet music?

How do you know where to put the diminished chords? And are there other shapes for it?
Can you please break it all down real slow so we can get it?
