    Thank you for hitting the high points to consider when looking for a solar power "generator". What sold me on the EcoFlow Delta 2 was the fact that it uses the Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries for many times the cycles (10 years of daily use), as well as the expandability of adding another battery to double the source. I love being able to see the actual percentages of load and input vs another company I was considering that shows only the 20 percentage marks. Add the cell phone app to control the unit and you have a no brainer of which to choose for the same or less money. Connect this unit to the WiFi and receive firmware updates as they are released for more and improved features.

    Great review! We’ve had our Delta 2 for a couple of years, perfect for power outages. Today I ordered another one and the extra battery, to use in a home built camping trailer.
    We’ll have over 3000 watts of power without having do a lot of electrical work on the trailer. I believe EcoFlow is the BEST brand around and definitely the BEST warranty. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿/🇺🇸👍
    P.S. Love the Dachshund 🌭

    The forest campsite looks great - imagine the light trail will be too.
    Completely get the benefits of the units for those who can’t do van electrics but still prefer what I’ve done as almost 6KWh of power and 3Kw inverter in not much bigger footprint than the original AGM battery - think I lost about 4 inches of usable space under the bench seat and under £3k all in for 460ah lithium battery, inverter (3Kw pure sine), MPPT solar (victron), b2b and AC charger (30A Victron) for when on hookup plus accessories)
    That said - I do love the 100w USB C PD though 😂
    All the best, David 👍

    Wish we had of waited, till we could have afforded a larger one. We bought the Ecoflow River to run hubbys nebs & sucktion machines, it lasted 2 days, at busfest22 (but security kindly charged it up for us, in an hour), we then ordered extra battery which doubled the power, which is great, but now we have bought the 110 solar pannels, we love it.

      Like everything when it’s new there is always a high price on it when they first come out, so maybe it could decrease in time (although that’s not how things seems to be going lately). But for someone who’s looking to use it instead of a full electrical installation it could save them money possibly.
      Delamere forest is extremely beautiful we have been to the area a few times as we used to bike there a lot, but this was the first time at this site and we loved it! Hope you are well 🤗

      @@UrbanVanlife true I’m hoping when I move into my van full time I can buy these sort of things quicker il love one but with what I can spare each month it take me about 30 months to save up for the price :( I have everything running off my van 12v would love to use higher the only thing I have is a cheap inverter to run my laptop.
      I’ve managed to find a 12v rechargeable mens face shave which works really well to a 12v electric toothbrush 😂 again some cheap Chinese thing but works really well :)
      I’m well thank you 🙏 hope your both doing well 🤗

      @@whippetsadventuresandoneman The Eco Flow Delta 2 seems like a great choice, but as that is around $1,000 I got a much smaller battery. It happened to be a Jackery 300 on sale for $209. It only has a 300 watt inverter, but I use it to run a 32 inch T.V. for about 3 or so hours and a lot of 12v stuff like a little car heater that takes about 120-150 watts. I would like to upgrade to one of these sometime (or something similar like the DELTA mini at 882Wh for $750).

    I live just over the hill from there, I can walk from my house into the forest it’s that close.
    You should walk down the road towards the Abbey Arms Pub and half way along the road on the right is Delamere Store and they sell the best pies & sausage rolls, they are Sue Cowards Pies (Cowards is a butcher’s in Frodsham) and their Steak Pies are simply the best Steak Pies you’ll ever find (and I’ve tried a lot of Steak Pies); so next time you’re down that way, walk down to the store and try them.

    Love the presentation. I'd have this system all day long. I decided to buy allpowers monster x. I asked tour advice some time back about linking roof solar direct to charge them. It works so we don't need the provided AP panels and we are never without power
    These devices no matter the brand are martini systems, any time any place anywhere. For me having priced up a self build electronics, these systems replace them totally. No Chinese inverters that don't last, no cables, sockets, gangs, fuse boards, power box or mppt that could catch fire. A victon item could cost £240 that's a fraction then add lith battery 600 and three rest, you'd be looking at 1500 above. These are a good investment and on a fuanl note. They save your domestic home bills. I charge then every day, it powers our home. Our lecky bill is 54 a month. Gas is off. We use the allpowers to heat out rooms with 500w space heater. We are cooking, cheers Emma and Neil top banana!

    ok so I see how the booster and stuff comes in handy but I think you do still need it in your van because you want to be able to charge where ever your at in the van not in a central location so if they made a system that could hook up to a regular ran wires to replace a normal battery id say ok but for now id still go with dedicated batteries set up inside.

    Can you use a fixed solar on the roof?
    When using the unit & when not using the unit ( turned off)
    I have 2 E bikes (emtb's)
    Will it be safe to leave the solar panel plugged in all the time?
    My plan is to use the sola panel (150) that I have fitted to the roof & just leave it plugged in when we / I am out riding for up to 5 -6 hours & charge the bikes up overnight.

    • @UrbanVanlife
      @UrbanVanlife  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’m pretty sure you could totalt fix them to the roof and run them in trough a gland . The intelligent system in the unit protects from over charging and dose a great job . What you want to do I don’t think I’d have a problem doing but I’m sure if you asked ecoflow for a pro opinion they would get back . There really good at communication

    Hi Neil & Emma, we live near Delamere Forest and love walking the dogs there. Thanks for the review, we are just starting our van build would you recommend us just getting the Delta 2 as our setup instead of all the other stuff as we aren't confident in electrics. Thanks

    • @UrbanVanlife
      @UrbanVanlife  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It’s all dependant on how much power you will use, but we don’t think there isn’t anything it couldn’t power in our van with the extra battery and solar but again it all depends on your usage, and there are more powerful options like the delta max and the delta pro. Our advice is to do the research and figure out what you would need

    • @UrbanVanlife
      @UrbanVanlife  ปีที่แล้ว

      Has your ecoflow got the extra socket on the side for the cable that comes with the spare battery ? As we think it’s different batteries inside them so may not be compatible with the other ecoflow, suggest dropping them an email. As for the diesel heater you could possibly put a cigarette lighter cable onto the heater and plug it into the accessory port of the ecoflow

  • @stevezodiac491

    I have one on order, i have a large permanent solar panel already on the van roof and I would assume that if you plug into the 12 volt linked from our 2 x 95 amp hour liesure batteries, it will take the energy for the ecoflow from them as required to charge it and follow on by recharging the liesure batteries from the van solar panel simultaneously ?
    We go on campsites a lot and use electric hook up but when out and about outside the camp site, to, from and at whichever resort or place of interest we go to, we propose to use it for a microwave, toaster, none ultra fast boil electric kettle etc. The ecoflow can power higher wattage items that the 12 volt system can't cope with, with our small portable 300 watt halfords plug in 12 volt to 240 volt inverter and from the 12 volt itself.
    I think it will mean that we can do anything anywhere. We can make our own ready meals in the microwave quickly, rather than having to go to mcdonalds etc, which cumulatively can be expensive and should pay for the ecoflow in time whilst adding flexibility as well.

    Hey guys . Just watched those happy days etc. One big mistake people make. Plastic windows and fans are made by injection moulding. The moulds are sprayed with a release agent so that the finished item releases from the mould and doesnt stick. Remenance of the release agent is not always thoroughly removed. If it's not removed before fitting the window for example the sealant won't adhere to the plastic. Looks sealed but isn't. Pulls away easily. Cheers from old George and Jane.

    Question - I am trying to decide whether the Delta 2 or the Delta max is my best option to run my van. I plan to run the campervan off the battery alone to run lights, fridge, have some power points to run or charge things instead of fixed batteries etc. A) Should I invest more of my money in the Delta Max (x2 the WH) as I can get it for only £450 more than the Delta 2, or B) Will the Delta 2 be enough to run the fridge constantly in the van and then when off-grid be able to charge by solar, run fridge and lights and heater if needed etc. I could buy the solar and Delta 2 for the same as the delta max on its own. I am worried about not having enough power but this review makes me think it is more than capable.

    • @Crosswind93
      @Crosswind93 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you have a lot of sun where you live, Delta 2 with solar panel is okay. If not, 1 kWh battery is okayish, but not great. Consider three things: how much power you need, how fast you can recharge, how will you recharge. Example of the last, it's a lot more convenient to take a 12kg Delta 2 to a coffeeshop in a backpack and charge it while you relax or get some work done.
      PS: it's polite to ask first, example is it okay to charge some of my electronics while taking having a coffee or two? 😅

    Is the Delta 2 cost afective if using at home and using mains electric to charge it up.? It will be drawing a lot of power from your mains to charge it up at what ever price per unit you are being charged. Even though its only taking an hour or so to fully charge it is still costing you in electric. At over a thousand pounds to buy are you actully saving any money using the power bank to run and charge things from.? Great video and great review of the Delta 2.

I'm hung up on other reviews comments about how you can't leave solar panels plugged in "overnight" or when they're not accepting soler energy. (This was on the Delta Max = Review said it starts a "loop" or something that drains battery.)
    I plan to use as a backwoods "base camp" for hunting - want to be able to leave plugged in when leaving before dawn.
