If he doesn't want to play as Wagner that's fine imo, but the reason he gives is bullshit considering he's playing a WW2 simulator where he's played the likes of N@zi Germany, Imperial Japan, Fascist Italy, some Balkan nations which commited a bunch of war crimes, Israel, US, UK, France etc.

The difference is WW2 happened a long time ago, and after a certain amount of time it becomes socially acceptable to play as for example as Hitler, because there isn't anyone around alive who suffered directly due to his actions to watch the video. While the russo-Ukrainian war is currently ongoing, and there's still people currently directly affected by it, and it's generally a much more relevant situation.
@@dirtfrosting Come on man, lets engage our brains for a minute, it does not matter if it happened a long time ago. The outcome of that war which happened a long time ago are what is playing out now. The power structures in place and the 'rules based order' as they say that is in place. Many of the international Laws. etc stemmed as a consequence from WW2. The Russo Ukraine war, even if you try to belittle Russia by even making the R small is of no consequence.
It was pure fantasy even from a geopolitical standpoint for anyone with a thinking brain looking at the sad state of affairs NATO were in and their dismal record even fighting men in the desert in flip flops using outdated Soviet era equipment and they lost to then contend with Russia right on it's doorstep. The fact that Ukraine considered it thinking the West would help them and not considering the numerous times the US have left their proxies high and dry is astounding. Someone must've drank the dummy koolaid. You can't wage war in social media and expect to win. Now the hens are coming home to roost and poor Ukraine is left in the wind having to sell even it;s underwear to survive.
This is what happens with Idealism meets harsh Reality. Unfortunately it is what it is, right to the last brave Ukrainian. Used as a sacrificial pawn in a game they can't win. Too late for them to back out now that's the position they are in. They either surrender to Russia which seems unlikely or they get tied up in bureaucratic red tape with votes and different leaders refusing to send money which wont help because manpower is low so they have to save face somehow. Unless they do something drastic and that will only hasten their demise. So how do they want it? Slow or quick death?
@@dirtfrosting that doesn't really mean anything, a lot of currently alive people have lost loved ones to WW2 and the holocaust but that doesn't mean that you can't play germany in hoi4, i'm sure there are a lot of russians who lost loved ones in this war but that doesn't means that you can't play ukraine

Yes, the military-political command of the country has not yet understood who they are dealing with. They sincerely thought that Russia would not attack from abroad and that Ukrainian troops would be able to cut off the separatists’ supply of weapons and people.
For a while it even worked, but... yeah.
That is pretty true to form.
The conflict will continue for years, but Russia has won and no one cares anymore about this backwater nation.
"The developer doesn't want me to attack" thats because its representing real life, ukraine isn't allowed to, thats why the border regions apart from the frontline are calm, almost as if they are still at peace, barely any fighting goes on there

@@Derna1804 The disaster was where the separatists managed to gain a foothold. Odessa was lucky that this did not happen, but for this, unfortunately, in Odessa it had to happen the way it did. In Kharkov, Zaporozhye, Dnieper, Kherson, not a drop of blood was shed for the same result.

Actually, the one who is guilty in the whole situation is known. This is the deputy head of police for the Odessa region, Dmitry Fuchidzhi. Who first took the side of the separatists when they attacked the pro-Ukrainian march in the center, and then disappeared, leaving the police without command at the time of the events near the house of trade unions. He fled to Transnistria and then to Russia.

Well, leading Armies and whole Countries IRL is something else, especially if you compare it to HoI 4.
I mean look at what Grisha is doing now (I'm not a fan of him, I just heard it in a report about him), he is playing Ukraine War Mods, where he easily leads Russia to Victory over Ukraine over and over again (doesn't that become boring to his viewers?) yet obviously Russia IRL lucky for us in the West fails hard to do.
Honestly I can only agree with Tommy here: As the West we owe so much to you Ukrainians, you basically are disarming the Russian Threat and you're doing that at a terrible cost to your civilian population suffering Russian Terrorist Attacks everyday.
I'm ashamed of our politicians in the West for them not being more decisive in their decision making. Imagine if the West would've delivered Tanks, HIMARS, SPG's, Jets etc. already in 2022, the War could've been over by now.
So that Ukraine is struggling now to achieve a major breakthrough somewhere, I don't blame Ukraine or the Ukrainian Leadership for that, not at all.
That failure of the Summer Offensive sadly was foreseeable. First it was announced as Spring Offensive, than it got delayed and delayed and delayed (I assume Zelenskyj tried to get more of the needed equipment behind the scenes in that time) until it turned into a Summer Offensive and not only where the Russians building up defenses more and more, also the clock was ticking against the Ukrainians, since Autumn was coming.
As a German myself, I put the blame on the Western Leaders for this offensive failure.
I wish you guys the best of strength and luck in this and I hope, that Ukraine can celebrate the next Christmas in 2024 in peace, fully united and Russia dealing with massive internal problems, too exhausted from this war to become a threat in the next decades.

My step brother said that russian troops warns civil about their rocket bombing... His mom says our government is nazi... A nazi country where I could freely speak russian language and they attacked us with the words: "nazi, let your people speak the language they want" and demilitarizatio... Why are they so dumb? It's so obvious that putin just wanted to conquer our country and they used to live here...

The answer is yes, HOI4 can be exploited to an absurd degree.
I watched a Perun video last night and he made a point similar to this. Games will never be able to simulate anything like this. Whether if it's a simple RTS or GSG.

i take my conclusions from mainstream news which is most of the time pro-western, then compare them to what is happening on the map or on the ground, the point i really stopped doubting is when they claimed the counteroffensive was going well and ukraine was breaking thru, but the map only showed ukraine took like 6-8 tiny villages in a month with a high casualty rate shown on video's, with still having like 3 lines of defense to go.
