I have played this mod a few (too many) times, and if you are looking for some recommendations, I know of a few. All from the 2000 start date, but they are fun. 1: Ethiopia. Starts at war with Eritrea and it is an easy win within the first year, if you want the land, or a quick white peace if you do not. It is a medium difficulty start and it takes time to build up (2010-15 in most cases), but you have options of either building an Eastern African Empire by force or diplomacy. 2: India. Also a(n) easy-medium difficulty start, with excellent potential of becoming the most economically powerful country in the world by around 2020-25. If you want to go on the warpath, then reuniting the old Raj borders is an excellent starting point. 3: Brazil. Harder than India but easier than Ethiopia, it has probably the greatest Focus tree outside the major nations. It has enough of all the resources to be fully self-sufficient for the entire game and can be great as a good starter nation when considering becoming better with non-majors in the mod. Warring in the Americas without the Teddy's friends coming around with big sticks is a gamble, but possible if you are clever about it. 4: South Africa. Easiest start of all of them, but can easily become reasonably powerful within a few years if you are patient. You are far enough away from the major nations to prevent you starting anything, but if they intervene it is nearly impossible for you to do anything about it. 5: DRC. While the Congo also starts at war with rebels, those rebels are being openly helped by foreign powers. This is easily the hardest opening and has the most things going against it, but once you are on the other side you will be given an amazing location to project power throughout central Africa. Nigeria is a second option, but it has a different set of problems to deal with. 6: France/Germany into EU: Uniting into the EU is an easy win game, but it also gets rid of a lot of the challenge of the game. Making sure that all European powers enter into your sphere of influence before you tag-switch can be a good challenge, but it would make for a boring video. 7: Uniting Korea: Whichever one you choose to do it with, it will be a hard fight without preparation at best, and impossible with foreign involvement. The South has an easier time with it and it becomes even easier as the years goes on, but it is not impossible for the North to win.

13:35 - “Everyone’s leaving the EU, and I’m trying to figure out how to get in!” So, maybe they didn’t join in the last decade because…..they couldn’t find the button!
- I'd definitely be interested in seeing more M.D., including doing this from a 2000s start. It's a great mod, but not especially stable. You generally want to play it differently to how you'd play HOI4 as you often intervene using agents, volunteers and influence rather than with conventional wars. - How to fix debt: Just like in real life, do things to increase your earnings (keeping GDP growth high, higher taxes, constructing buildings that improve earnings etc), minimize wasteful spending and pay off your debt. Get your % debt payments to below what you'd get if you invest and then invest instead (so if you get 6% return on investments but your debt is 5% return it is better to invest than pay off debt). - Influence is a mechanic that gives foreign countries a bunch of ways to mess with you (or you with them). So if a country wants to invest in your country it will help your economy, but give them influence which they could use to harm your country in certain ways. - Hammurabae is a good channel to check out for guides on things like unit templates and certain mechanics. Basics of units are 1. Air is king. 2. Mechanized Infantry (IFVs) are amazing if you can afford it (build cheaper units early on until your economy can support them). 3. Tanks are niche (powerful but suffer pretty serious penalties on most terrain types, just like in real life). - That massive tree down the bottom is the EU tree that most European countries have. It allows you to join the EU (if not already), try to gain influence within the EU, influence policies and potentially turn it into a federation ("United States of Europe"). So you can use it to peacefully annex Europe. - You can choose something in the options menu to make countries less likely to start random wars (though it can be kinda funny). - EU candidate status is in the EU tree.
This timeline is definitely wild. We're simulating CURRENT wars.

This video just goes to show that war could have been avoided if Ukraine had been allowed to join NATO. Who'd have thunk it?

As a Ukrainian I got so scared, when I saw those borders of my country being occupaited all along..
I mean, obviously, conquer all of Europe as Germany.
This game mode is very realistic, just like how countries in Europe ignore Ukraine in the present day and only think about themselves, the game mode has already been made as it should be.

So, maybe they didn’t join in the last decade because…..they couldn’t find the button!
awesome vid as always, but anyone else noted that the overall volume was way low?
Who knew holding videos as blackmail was so good at getting like goals

2,000 strong Montenegro army assistance is still something :)
- EU candidate status is in the EU tree.
even a canadian couldn't predict THAT one
just turned June holy crap
Would really love to see more Millenium Dawn mod!
Russia put fucking Väyrynen in charge 😂😂😂
