I am using Google Pixel 6a device since last 5 months. And I am not able to make direct vedio call via carrier network , I want to directly make a vedio call to my friend, for which I have to use Google's app like Google meet or Google duo for which we have to provided with high speed internet connection. In India internet speed is not so good in rural areas. This is not a user friendly behaviour by Google. It's a monopoly. We are using Google product itself. So atleast Google can give a access to direct vedio call. So that we can call using carrier network like JIO Vi Airtel. The second thing is pixel get too much heated during normal TH-cam suffering and vedio calling via WhatsApp, from both back and front, that it start giving you warning on temperature increase of your handset. Google has really nailed it with pricing imo. The 6A is a great value phone that undercuts even the iPhone SE in terms of pricing and is in many ways better than the SE. The 7A justifies its higher price with the better internals and display. The 7 starts to get into diminishing returns territory, but is still significantly cheaper than other flagships. The value proposition on these phones is just better than its competitors.

6A so far has been an amazing phone.
Few drawbacks coming from huawei p30:
Network strength - terrible. I couldnt send a small video from a shopping mall for 60 minutes. People sometime hear some strange noises while talking to me.
Main screen of the phone has a small date numbers which cannot be removed from the screen.
    Apps become unresponsive at times.
Only 1 app open- it just freezes and you can just close it and reopen in order to work.
Battery is average. A day of use is almost certain but for example p30 had me for 2 days with no problems.

Interesting, one have to be careful with these reviews, I appreciate your efforts in bringing us an honest review, but watching image results via TH-cam video doesn't do justice, much better to try out the phone yourself. I had both the 7 and the 6A at home with me, and the selfie camera from the 6A was horrible. But on this video the 6A selfie sample looked just fine, but let me tell you it is not. So, here is my take on all these 3 models, the 6A was more friendly, easier to hold, more comfortable to use, more pocketable and easier to get along with. But because of the inferior camera, lack of wireless charging, 60HZ refresh rate, it didn't make sense to me, and for only $100 more I was able to get the 7. Now comes the 7A, which could had been the perfect 7, but the price messed it up. But the 7A has everything the 6A was missing and still smaller then the 7, it just needed to be $400. At $500 for the 7A, I would still get the 7 instead. I hope the 7A cameras are as good as the 7, because the 6A selfie camera left a lot to be desired.

I usually don't upgrade my a-series pixels until Google does their big yearly(ish) offer. Normally the trade-in for the latest a-series is insultingly low, like $100 in perfect condition. But once in a while they offer a much larger trade-in value along with a discount on the new a. Instead of $400 to upgrade through Google, it goes down to $150-$200. If you're a pixel owner, I would highly suggest waiting for those times of year to upgrade. It's clear that Google wants to push upgrade sales, and you definitely want to take advantage instead of just buying new when they come out.

I ordered my phone 2nd hand through Back Market, which I highly recommend! I paid $30 to have it expedited, but then FedEx temporarily mis-sorted it and so it was delayed a handful of days. 🥴 Once it made its way safely to me, I kindly reached out to Back Market and they refunded the $30 fee easy-peazy! 🎉 You also have like 90 days to return it for free for ANY reason, and like a 1 year warranty if there's any issues with the phone.
My only gripe with the phone itself is the camera, particularly the front facing one. Looking at the screen pre-photo everything looks nice, but once the photo clicks & saves, it automatically boosts the contrast way too much, which is really weird. There's no way to get around this as far as I know. As I have naturally light blonde hair & fair skin, this results in a darker, greasy look that's unflattering. 😅 But using alternative camera apps on the phone works like normal, so the rare occasions I want to take a selfie I just use a 3rd party app instead lol

For me its really important that the phone can be used easy with one hand (so I usually go for smaller size). Should I get Google Pixel 6A for 300 EUR or Pixel 7a for 550 EUR ?? I hear some people say that the 7a is visibly larger and the 6a is better for one hand use but both are 6.1 inch ???

    • @blabla7310
      @blabla7310 ปีที่แล้ว +1

The few advantages that the Pixel 7a has over the 6a aren't worth the 250 euros at all. Either you wait until the 7a is significantly cheaper, or you simply get the 6a. Because for 300 euros this is a good, fast smartphone and offers a much better price-performance ratio compared to the Pixel 7a at the moment. Coming from the Pixel 3a, the Pixel 6a grew about a millimeter in each dimension. It may not sound like much, but you can clearly feel it. It's borderline but still acceptable to me. Although the Pixel 7a has the same screen size as the 6a, it's again a millimeter wider than its predecessor. And don't forget that the Pixel 7a is heavier at 193 grams than the 6a at 178. That doesn't sound like much either, but you can already feel that.

It was a weird adjustment from using Samsung but I love my 6a - can't believe I only paid $300.
Being able to run GrapheneOS alone is a huge reason to get it. It's cheap, widely supported, has 5G, fits in your hand better than modern oversized phones, and it's DURABLE - if I dropped my Samsung S10+ the way I've dropped my 6a I'd have spiderweb cracks everywhere - good case or not
But the differences for the 7a don't justify upgrading for me and the biggest reason would be qi charging. That's the only real downside to the 6a but there are third party cases that add support for it

Lately I’ve felt no need of a phone that expensive, especially when I only use it for social media, calls, emails and some light gaming like clash of clans and Pokémon go. I have to buy a phone for my dad. He is someone that doesn't know anything about phones and still uses a super slow budget phone from years ago (Huawei P30 lite). He doesn't watch video's and doesn't care about social media stuff, just texting, reading the news and he loves taking pictures and video's of his family and grandchildren. He also hates big smartphones. He finds anything above 400 dollars too expensive, 'cause like I said. He doesn't know anything about phones and it's not important to him. I want to buy a Pixel 6a for him (small phone with a great camera). Is that probably the best choice for him? I waited for the Pixel 7a to launch, but he thinks the price is too high. I personally don't like the 60hz and the 'slow' fingerprint scanner, but he wouldn't notice, would he? He even said his current phone is still perfect for him, despite it being super slow... I do want the phone to last him for years, because he won't upgrade phones until it doesn't boot up or something...
Is the Pixel 6a a no-brainer for his use case?
For context, the Pixel 7a launches at €510 where I live, the Pixel 6a sells for €360. So it's a pretty big price difference...
My brother (who's not into phones aswell) picked up a OnePlus Nord 2T for €270, great option for him aswell, but he hates big phones. What should I do?
