@@Wrc650 Yes you can use it for product photography. You can practically use any camera for product photography. For lens choices, I will recommend a macro lens for magnification, an 85mm if you don't want to buy a macro lens and a wide angle lens (probably a zoom to take advantage of different focal lengths). I use 85mm, and 105mm for product photography.

I agree with you i have been using the Nikon d800 for years. Good lenses are very important. 24-70mm 2.8 105mm dc f2 50mm f1.8 just a few lenses named but good glass not just the latest camera.
Still using a Nikon D800 - Love it for my Portrait Photography but HATE IT for Videography, I'm a TH-cam Creator as well - Recently purchased a Canon M50 just for better Autofocus for video. Nikon D800 can't even do 60fps on 1080p. For Photography However? It's a Beast! Btw. Love the video setup and you're doing a Good Job! Keep it going!
Amazing. The camera will still be around for a very long time. I tried going smaller with Sony a7riii but feel so much comfortable with the nikon d800 and it’s performance. All I do now is to buy more lenses
I remember when I waited for it at the local camera store late March 2012. This camera is definitely relevant if you happen to own one, however, in 2021 it may be worth looking into mirrorless. Some options need to be weighed out before making a purchase. One example is portability. Mirrorless cameras are much lighter than The DSLR. But on the flipside you’re a variety of lenses or a slimmer as well as accessories. DSLR advantages are the opposite, a wider selection of lenses and accessories. Mirrorless sensors are a little bit smaller, they used to be an issue with low light photography. But throughout time that has corrected itself and the quality has gotten better. I’m still a huge fan of the Nikon D 800, I don’t see myself getting anything else anytime soon. In all honesty I really don’t see myself needing anything else the way smart phones can act as a very well suited back up.
@@Youcube11000 that's a beast of a lens you got. If you can save for 24-70 f2.8. That will be a good all round lens for most needs except in areas where you will be needing 70-200 zoom range. I have Tamron 24-70 f2.8 and it takes great shots
It is large and heavy, but mine is like American Express: I don't leave home without it. My city has two premiere photography shows in which only about 1/2 of the entries are accepted. Mine always are. Low light is OK, but nothing to write home about. However, I bought Topaz Noise AI, Sharpen AI, an Gigapixel. Those drastically improve thte D800 low light performance. Dynamic range as fantastic on the low end. I can get useful images out of what looks like almost solid black, but highlights blow out a lot sooner. But then, that doesn't matter too much if you don't miss your exposure!
My bro mike, thanks for the review. I’m looking to get into this and you said if you have the budget for a new recent cameras you should get one, especially one that’s good with video and action photography. So which do you recommend please
Yes,not only that it's still a good camera but so far,for me,wanting to shoot Leica M lenses,i could not find a mirrorless that could equal the raw image quality of the D800 at the MSRP value of that camera.
Hi congratulations and welcome to the D800 family. If you do mostly events i will recommend 24-70mm 2.8. But it all depends on your budget. 50mm is good but not ideal for If you want to start with just one lens. For me I have 24-70mm 2.8 Tamron, 70-300mm, 2.8, 50mm 1.4
I have a Fuji GFX50r and certainly still use the d800. It's a tank. Fast and reliable. I just love OVF compared to the GFX mirrorless. Mirrorless today is still shit. Slow and horrible in low light.
Hello Sumardiwan. Can you let me know your country of residence? That will help me give a more accurate suggestion on where you can get a good and cheaper one. Cheers
Hi Bekker. Buying a second-hand camera is not risky provided you buy from a reliable seller or store. I bought my Nikon d700 and d800 second-hand and none have failed me up till this moment. As long as you buy from reliable source or the same rule apply to both the D5600 or 3500 if you are buying used. Hope this helps
Unfortunately no you can’t unless you use stuff like “eye if wireless memory card” if I’m considering stuff like wireless transfers I will consider a more recent camera.

Go to DXOMark and see how it ranks. Pretty high. D850 scores 100. D800 scores 95. Only 3 other Nikon’s in between these 2 scores.
the 800 E is even better. trust me. that dinamic range, nothing comes close.
