good video, good info. i was working ahead of you and got to the front and fought with the harness. checked back to you and watched the same thing lol. i ended up cutting the tab off the valve cover so i didnt have to wrestle with it going back in. i like to use vaseline when setting in the gaskets so they dont fall out during install. I also replaced all the vaccum lines, cleaned the trrottle body and re learned it.
I did the valve cover gaskets on my 2001 2.4 frontier with 200k+ miles. It started hesitating and wanting to stall. When I pulled a spark plug boot it was covered in oil and the plug couldn’t fire properly. Luckily for me, the job wasn’t as involved for me as a 6 cylinder. Nice video, good luck with channel.
Thanks for showing the initial startup after a big job like this because some people don't show it. You kinda expect the engine to do something weird but in this case, it didn't.
Thanks for the detailed explanation! I'll be replacing the O2 sensor while I have access to the bank 2 area. Just had to replace the bank 1 sensor recently. 144k miles.
Awesome video . What type of glue did you use ? Or what type of RTV ? Is it all 4 corners or where it meets the timing chain cover ? We got this 2014 maxima brand new and I was tripping out seeing rtv on those 2 corners . Thanks man . Ed . Edited my comment. Just watched the entire video lol . Appreciate it !!
It's not necessary. The spark plug tube sit pretty high through the tube seal. As long as they're not crack during removal, you're ok. And mainly, as long as there's no oil present at the spark plugs you're ok
Quick question i have a 2010 nissan maxima sv with over 2 hundred thousand miles the transmission is going out on it and now the engine has started smoking i can smell oil when it smokes out of the exhaust what do you think this could be?
You can do it. I started doing my own work. Just remember where everything goes and dont lose any of the bolts. Take some close up before pics before you start. They will be very helpful@kyndracrump

Am about to do both VC surgery on my 2017. Did this on my ‘11 a few years back. Both year engines almost the same. Thanks for the reminder vid
How’s your 17 been running since the surgery
Thank you!! Great video
I like the video one question what are the twerk specs on the intake manifold 😅
How much would this job cost? I ask because I need this done on my 2009 Maxima, and they told me it will run me about $1,400!
Find a good mechanic, Mine just charged me $400 including replacing the valve seal, replacing a front strut & ballast replacement.
@user-jd3oo6qm5q damn! Way cheaper than what they told me! I'm also in nyc, so I'm guessing that's why it's so expensive. I'm shop around

I use ultra black high torque rtv. Glue is normal for the corners to fill in those voids
Is it not necessary to change the spark plug tubes as well? Which is not available separate of the valve cover!

@@partsshooter ok bro thanks!!
