It’s sad to think, the whole ordeal ended or abruptly changed the whole dynamics of 3 friends, solely due to the fact that nobody seemed to just be able to communicate or hear him out and have empathy for what he’d been going through or just to even stay awake and so much as _try_ to see what he was seeing or just for moral support. I had a strange & terrifying experience as a kid that still haunts me to this day, and this story kind of reminded me of it. My mother had a best friend, Trish, who happened to also have a daughter around the same age as me. When my mother & Trish wanted to let loose and hangout, we'd go to Trish's and I'd play with Trish's daughter while our Moms were drinking brewskis and just shooting the shit. One night, after us little girls got tucked into the bunk-bed that Trish had in her daughter's room, my mother & Trish decided to make a gas station run for another six pack to continue their night. The nearest gas station was about a 10 minute walk or a 2 minute car ride, so they hopped in my mom's car to make the quick run. I was on the bottom bunk, and Trish's daughter was on the top bunk. And to put this into a visual perspective, there was a window next to the bunk-bed in which the top half of the window was viewable from the top bunk, and the bottom half from the bottom bunk. I had just started to drift off into sleep when I heard Trish's daughter scream. I don't know why I instinctively knew to look at the window, but I did. And what I saw terrified the ever-loving F out of me. It was a man's head, but not a normal looking kind of head. It almost appeared as if the head were disembodied and floating there. And when I first saw this head, its eyes were clearly looking upwards towards Trish's daughter. And somehow this man, this thing sensed that I was now looking at it, because its eyes immediately darted down to stare at me. And within seconds of this happening, my mother & Trish pulled back up to the house to hear us girls screaming & crying. We were trying to tell them that there was a man at the window, and both of our mothers darted in opposite directions around the entire house trying to find this creep. But there was nobody there, and there was no way a person could have ran and hid so quickly with nothing nearby to hide behind. For years and years and years now, I still have recurring nightmares with disembodied heads floating outside of windows.

Clearly Mr. Ballen, Nick's dad was deeply attached to his family and worried about them after his passing. The dimensions of Dad's spirit is distortedly large b/c Spirit is only contained in size by the human body. Nick's mom recognized her husband and his wanting to care/provide for his family and was at peace with his visitations so she was trying to put you at ease with it. You are a sensitive person Mr. Ballen who couldn't sleep b/c there was energy around this family that was keeping you awake and made it possible for you to see Nick's Dad as he was checking on his son. This sensitivity is apparent in the work you currently do. Sadly we are not conditioned in our society to accept such experiences. If the ghost was aggressive trying to drive you out of the cabin that would be different, but that was not part of this experience and can just be accepted as this man's love for his family. Not sure about the apparent otherworldly appearance of the entity, however. If MrBallen thought it was a giant human, he wouldn't have been terrified to have it look at him. Or the sense of dread around it when it entered the room. When people encounter genuinely benevolent ghosts, they don't report being terrified like that.

I know you said your friendship with Nick ended, but what if you created an episode where you, Nick, Nick's mom, and Wolf sit down and talk about what happened? It'd be interesting as hell to hear their recollections and perspectives (especially considering how Nick and his mom reacted to you) so long after the experience. I'm also dying to know if they ever experienced or saw anything else in that house after that... Might be worth it especially since they were so fresh in the grieving process then and may have a different reaction after so much time.

Lmao!!! The poor cats. 😂 Some people twitch like crazy in their sleep. Once I was trying to sleep with my head in the crook of my partner's arm. He had some kind of nightmare that made him bend his arm around my neck (like I was in a choke hold), and he rolled over so aggressively he practically threw me halfway over him by my neck. It all happened so fast. I was just like, hitting him (not super hard but like HEY, WAKE UP) and he released me. I told him what happened and he mumbled something as he fell back asleep while I stared at him like WTF. He had no recollection of it the next day. He's done other stuff in his sleep, like lifting his arm up and then dropping it right onto my face lol, but that was by far the most aggressive. I don't hold it against him by any means, I've seen how he twitches when he has nightmares and it makes me feel really bad for him. But yeah, he will startle the living shit out of me sometimes.

How I know this story is true:
He stutters when he’s speaking and repeats things because he’s also in the middle of remembering it.
He looks down occasionally because the floor is floor and is a good place to look when you’re placing an image somewhere.
There’s rarely any cuts during the story because he’s telling a personal story for forty minutes and rewatching that experience just to edit it is too mentally exhausting.
He goes back and forth between the details, which takes us into his mind as the events occurred, and the same with his hand gestures, describing directions and positions of objects according to his point of view.
May this man’s brain rest easy after every time he thinks about this story.

As a kid, in the middle of the day, my parents were at work and I was on summer vacation so I was laying in the house whole day and watching TV. Almost every day I heard footsteps coming from outside. I had a concrete in front of the house and that's concrete path was connecting my house with my other smaller house. I heard very loud footsteps walking from the small house to the house I was in and those footsteps were being louder and louder and they just came to the door of the house and I was expecting someone to come in but it just stops. I open the front door to see if someone is in front of the door but there is no one. Then I heard footsteps that got quiter and quiter as someone is outside and walking from the big house to the small house and then I heard front door of the small house loudly shut down. Once I got home from school and I grab the door handle to come into the house but my parents weren't at home and they locked the door. Then I turn around and look at the small house and here very loud footsteps in there. It was like 300kg person is jumping in there. The windows were shaking. Fortunately, it stop to happen but things like these are very bad to experience. You just see and hear something but you know it's impossible to hear or see it. It's terrible experience and it leave a trail on your soul for the rest of your life.

This is the first video I have seen of yours, and it reminded me of something that happened to my family seven years ago. We are a Canadian military family, that were posted to a province across the country from the rest of our family and friends. It was our first move. From the time we moved into the house, in the evenings my husband and I would hear footsteps walking down the hallway upstairs above our heads. There was one time I was in the spare room in the basement on the computer, with my husband and kids outside, and I heard footsteps above my head which would have been our bedroom. There was lots of other activity in the house, but it never felt malicious. My husband went for pilot training in the neighboring province, but would periodically drive home on weekends. This lasted a year. At one point my mom was staying with me to help, and she too heard the footsteps above our heads one evening while we were watching t.v. in the basement. I laughed and told her "That's just our ghosts" but I didn't really believe that. She said one morning, when she woke up she felt something get out of the bed next to her. I knew what she was talking about because years before that while I was pregnant with our first child and my husband was away on training, I would feel something get out of my bed next to me when I woke up. Things eventually took a dark turn. There were events that would lead up to this, but I was in the process of deepening my faith, wanting to learn more so I could raise my children in the faith. I was regularly taking my girls to church, and things amped up when I began reading my girls their children's bible at bedtime at night. It didn't like that. Before this, the first time I was scared was when my husband was visiting for a weekend. I was laying in bed struggling to sleep. We had an linen closet in our bedroom without a door. We did not have mice in our home, but suddenly I heard a rustling sound in the closet. Like the rustling sound of plastic bags. The sound was getting louder as something was trying to emerge from the back of the closet. I lay there for a moment in disbelief from what I was hearing. I turned on my bedside lamp, and sat upright in bed. The noise had stopped and nothing was there. I woke up my husband to tell him what happened. The night something happened when I was reading my girls the bible was that we heard the footsteps come down the hallway. They stopped outside the bedroom door. My daughters roller blind immediately flew up. That had never happened before. My youngest daughter started crying from fear, and her older sister ran out to the kitchen to make sure our outside door was locked. She couldn't process what was happening. This happened twice. My girls were only 4 and 7 years old at the time. After that, the girls started taking turns sleeping with me. There were other things that happened to me, and even to just my husband when he would come home that I won't get into. Things that were happening to my kids. I won't get into all of that, but I did ask my neighbor across the street who owned side by side houses, and lived there his entire life, if anyone had ever died in that house. He told me no, but didn't ask me why I asked him that. One night as I lie in bed unable to sleep, I heard footsteps coming down the hallway. This time they were very heavy. There was heavy loud creaks with each step. I had heard it stop at the door before and jiggle the doorknob, but it never came in. This time it was as if it just walked through the door. It was so large and heavy that its side was pushing against my closet door as it walked in my room. It almost sounded as if the floorboards were cracking as it walked up my side of the bed, and stopped beside my head. At this point I was completely frozen in fear with my eyes sealed tightly shut. My heart racing. All of a sudden I heard a sound on the floorboards next to the side where my daughter was sleeping, like it had flown over the side of the bed. My daughter began stirring and crying out in her sleep. I immediately began comforting her, and wrapping my arms around her to protect her, and I heard nothing after that. When we listed the house for sale was when the activity stopped. We were posted to a different province. That was seven years ago. Nothing happened until last year when I decided to finally go to confession. I had unconfessed sins built up in me for many years, going all the back to my childhood. I had stopped going to church since we moved here, but I wanted to start going again. I wanted to go to confession to try to make things right with GOD. The night before I had planned to go, I was laying in bed thinking intensely about all of my sins, all that I was going to say when all of a sudden the roller blind flew up and I let out a scream. It startled my husband. He said "What's the blg deal? The blind was obviously caught between two clicks." I told him it was that same thing trying to scare me. The only times the blind ever flew up in the last house was when I read my girls the children's bible. The only time the blind flew up in this house was that night. It was trying to scare me into not going to confession. It didn't want my soul to be free. I told my husband I was going to be sure to get to church early the next morning, to go to confession. I did. I stopped reading my girls the bible, but my oldest read the entire bible on her own, and both my girls are proud to call themselves Christian. We can't let evil win.
Edit- I just want to add that I couldn't edit my comment before I posted it. My computer went wacko. It had capitalized God and highlighted his name, and kept highlighting lines. I don't know much about computers as to what was going on. I struggled to get the comment posted. After I did, my keys went all weird. I just rebooted it, and it is fine now, but I had to check, and see that God is still capitalized.

I’ve had sleeping issues all my life so I’m quite familiar with sleep paralysis and it’s awful. I will hear and see things. I’m pretty good at recognizing it when it happens now but it’s still scary. I always hear things like footsteps, doors closing, talking, music, whispers. And what I see always looks like demons, and one time one looked like a gross witch. The physical paralysis is usually caused with your body thinking you are in a dream state even though you are awake. WITH THAT SAID, my entire family experienced a shadow-man phenomenon. These are solid black figures that appear during times of extreme sadness or despair. I had the lucky experience of seeing it in the middle of the day along with my brother. We both saw it in front of us. So I never had to question if it was real. It mainly visited my mom at night, this was during her lowest moment in life after my dad left us. I think it’s attracted to despair, feeds off it or something. My best friend saw it and never came to my house again. 20 years later my baby sister has the same experience again during a horrible time in her life when she was suicidal. Shadow people are very much real. It would be good to know the difference between them and sleep paralysis. I do not believe in ghosts. If that woman truly heard and saw the same things as you, she is likely the target of them and just just happened to witness it because you couldn’t sleep. She probably had been seeing it since before the cabin trip. She convinced herself that was her dead husband because grieving people process it different. I’d be willing to believe she’s the one who carved the message, maybe even without realizing it. I would be shocked if her sons didn’t see it too though at some point.

Learn more about the different dimensions, and what a 4th dimensional being would look like to us if it passed through our 3rd dimension! It's really fascinating! I've also dealt with a lot of sleep paralysis over the decades, ever since I've been a little guy and I'm in my 40's now.
Scary witch lady is something I still experience on the odd occasion, a couple of times her face right next to mine when I finally manage to turn my head through the paralysis. I've also seen demon-dogs, grey aliens reaching over from my partner's side of the bed, horrible spider-like human-monster hybrids crawling on the walls, writing on the walls (even been able to get up OUT of the sleep paralysis and still see it before it eventually fades), cold hands pressed on my chest, hearing my voice called when no-one is there, creepy gnarled-up face small guy wearing a suit and tie (lol) coming out of my daughter's bedroom (seen the door open and said hi to her, then remembered she was at her grandmas for the night - cue goosebumps and hair on end, door opens and there this weird thing is) and the list goes on...
Unlike you however, I DO believe in things like ghosts, spirits, other-dimensional entities, etc. *but* I also believe that all of those things are just manifestations of my own mind, as is the world around me.
Not solipsism, but more like non-dual reality, only in a bit more of an intense sense than some people may see it?

I have listened to this video for a second time now just randomly because listening to these kinds of stories helps me to fall asleep at night. I love to hear someone tell creepy forest stories especially because there is something so wild and primal and mysterious about the forests, just like the oceans, that we, as humans, have been only able to explore just a fraction of. This is one of his best stories because it is personal and it creeps me out and makes me cry at the same time because I know that this is real. I really believe that our loved ones, in the initial stages of their passing, traverse from our plane of existence that we know to the next one, a transitional place where the veil between the living and the recently deceased can be more readily accessed. The signs we long to see are coupled with the signs that their love still lingers ever strong and ever present, and ever enduring…That is a beautiful experience.

I can appreciate that 17-year-old version of the host had the judgment to take care approaching a grieving widow. That was one of the things that stood out to me hearing this story. The details he includes in his descriptions really brings the stories alive. He understands exposition.

@@seaofflowers. I did not say it was uncommon. Just that I appreciated the maturity with which he approached the subject. No doubt there are many at that age who have those skills. Many others do not. Where do you live that teens have that level of understanding and skilled communication in such numbers so that it is unusual to praise them for it? What a strange question.

@@glovere2I think it's more of a personal expectation, cause he assumes everyone is similar to him. At 16years of age this would be expected in my opinion too, most kids I've met likely wouldn't hold up to that though, maybe cause the times Mr ballen grew up it would be natural and Seaofflowers was born also around then. Besides i feel like he had alot of time to think, since he was laying there for hours, so that could've contributed to him being considerate and calmer. Idrk though, im just assuming aswell 😅

Here I am re-watching years later, and still as spooked as the first time I heard it. Glad to see in comments that I'm not the only one addicted to this specific type of scare lol. There are even times I'll be in bed trying to sleep, but this story comes to mind and scares the crap out of me all over again. Genuinely a great scare.

I found out about your videos from TikTok but not your channel, just other peole posting your stories. But in threee parts and it would always be hard to find more of the story.
So I came to find your channel here on TH-cam and have spent the past few months binge watching your stories every night and sometimes in the daytime, going from newest to oldest.
I'm now at your oldest video so I'm waiting for a new one each Monday and seeing what else you do that I can watch.
