There are definitely some pros and cons to living in Green Bay Wisconsin At the same time there were some things I really wish I knew before the move as well. It might be shocking for a lot of people to believe but there are still people who actually like living in a place with a small town feel😲.
Yes! Big cities have awful vibes!!! Terrible atmosphere
Green bays a shooting range now...
One thing missed that most people don't know is the city is very family friendly. We have good schools, plenty of parks, so many family centered events. I live here and wish that we had some more variety of adult entertainment besides just football games and bars. Very little cultural events or even adult centered events.
Oh my gosh. I worked in LA for awhile and had to take 2 trains and 1 bus just to get to work. It took 3 hours one way
It is difficult to make friends in Green Bay. I have been here for 4 years. I know tons of people, but I have very few friends. People who are from here are friends with their friends from middle school. I'm pretty sure I will always be seen as an outsider even if I live here for 40 years.
That is definitely a struggle I hear from people at times. I know that no two stories are the same so it’s hard to pinpoint the exact reasons or cure. I do encourage people to turn up the intentionality as high as possible. Push to get connected. I would say a good 2-3yrs to settle in is common though. Thanks for sharing your experience.
Love my city I literally can't imagine living somewhere bigger than say Appleton
Things I wish I knew:
How strict the parking rules are.
Where to shop that supports the local economy.
How round-a-bouts work.
@DriftProYTSF I watched a TH-cam video on round-a-bouts and it saved me when I moved to Henderson, NV (suburb of Las Vegas).

My partner & I just moved to Green Bay, Wisconsin last July 2021. So far it's a nice city compared to Milwaukee, Wisconsin! I was born in Milwaukee, WI...❤❤❤ NEW sub as of today! I like it here!

I was born up that way, but these days, I live outside Dallas. I love Texas, I truly do. But GB is home. I’d move back to GB in a heartbeat if it wasn’t for the damn weather up there. I can’t deal with that cold and snow.
Lived here my entire life. Know every nook and cranny. Im not leaving, even if they try to make me. Home sweet home.
I wish I knew the city literally doubles in size on game day!

15 minutes to travel across town is nothing. Must have never lived in a big city before. GB is a small town.
You got it! Coming from a smaller area, and not having a car initially, travel across town seemed daunting. Now many years later and having been in bigger cities I have a much better appreciation for it. It’s definitely not L.A. traffic lol.
You'll sit 15 minutes for a red light in Orlando..

Parts of Allouez bus their kids to South West High School. The other part buses their kids to East High School. I lived in Allouez, a 4 minute drive to DePere HS but we were in the Southwest HS district, a 15-20 minute drive across town.
I grew up in Allouez but went to a private high school. I was actually surprised when I learned part of Allouez was part of the Southwest High School district.
I lived in GB for 2 years for work. The wholesome of the town is really the main seller! It's a very big town with a lot of great people! Course, me being a Bears fan from Chicago, I got a lot of shit on gameday, but when the game was over, folks are very respectful and always there to help you even if they can't stand your jerseys ;)
Also, there's quite a lot of stuff to do in GB even if you're not a big football person! Even though my team is Da Bears, my first love was always the Arts! GB has a lot of great music festivals and great halls for music performances and great museums! My favorite is the "National Railroad"

That’s a great question. We will have to make another video talking about DePere. My quick opinion, I like it. Beautiful homes, quaint stores, good restaurants, nice views.
They're probably closed off because they are worried about becoming another California city.

You are kidding? No? Well, I got 3 different GB home games this season all off of stubhub. Little pricey, $200 each on average but well worth each trip to lambeau!

It’s been so much fun to learn about the city more and more with each person I meet, video I make, and client I serve. You’re also right, I don’t like GB. I love it!
