Born and raised in Green Bay, Wi. I love this city. I'm happy to hear you folks enjoyed my hometown and the tourism sites here. There is a lot of interesting history here. Hope you all come back and check out a Green Bay Packer game, tailgating and all excitement and energy that comes with it. God bless and be well.
When I was stationed at the Naval Training Center in Waukegan, IL I spent a long weekend in Green Bay. We could not buy a drink in town because the people were so grateful to treat military personnel to free drinks.
Just booked my first ever trip From Scotland, yesterday, to see the Packers play, against San Fran and Miami, and lo and behold one of my favourite You tube channels posts a new vlog..from Green bay.. Fantastic stuff and keep up the great vids.
Broasted chicken and Spotted Cow. Two of the absolute best things WI has to offer. Do not miss it. *The smaller, and more "Mom and Pop" the place is, the better the chicken.
So that's late November, it could be OK it could be cold as all get out. I would suggest bring warm clothes and when you think you have enough layers on put on some more. It's not as cold here as like the Dakotas or a city like Minneapolis but the vikings play inside at Lambeau you're outside for 3 plus hours in the elements so just be prepared.
I wish all American City would go back being livable like Green Bay 🙏🏼❣️🙏🏽.... Clean, affordable, beautiful ❤️ All the things American's deserve.... Thank you for another wonderful video... Stay safe ❤️
Green Bay has always had a seedier underside (but what city doesn’t?) - and police corruption and city politics rivaled New Orleans 30 years ago. If it’s changed, great. The political machine had a Stepford stranglehold that made upward mobility impossible if you were low enough on the ladder. It sucked driving a car that marked you as poor (it’s what I could afford as a teenager) and being pulled over essentially for being poor… You’re judged by your wallet in Green Bay, more so than anywhere I’ve lived the past 50+ years - that’s not a problem if you’re not born poor.
I grew up on the Fox River (Kaukauna) but moved to Minneapolis in the 90's. Today my niece owns a hair salon in Green Bay (she got married in the courthouse, so beautiful). Thanks for visiting. It was fun to look around town with you today.
Hey folks! I live just down the street from the stadium... Thanks for visiting our city - glad you enjoyed the fried cheese curds. Next time you come, do try the fresh cheese curds available at most of the local grocery stores, and some gas-stations (supplied by area creameries). The very freshest should squeak when you bite into them! Glad you enjoyed your visit.
I’m calling BS on Sarasota being #5. I live here and it’s becoming unlivable. The amount of people moving here, the horrific traffic, the horrific car accidents and fatalities everyday, many times a day, we’re getting regular shootings now, the summers are hotter with no rain in sight, the aggressive drivers, the speeding, the cost of living, taxes, insurance , the scams including roofing where we are now required to replace our roofs every 15 years regardless of the condition. And the noise pollution, it’s not a quiet little beach town anymore. Nonstop sirens, semi trucks destroying the roads with potholes, horrible infrastructure constant road construction and road closures, I really could keep going. It’s really sad. The developers and commissioners have destroyed this state and it’s only beginning. The quality of life has really decreased. I thought I would be here for the rest of my life but I’m rethinking that. Sad what they’ve done to this state. Pure greed.
I was there in the mid 90's it was a mess then. Tons of traffic. Constant car accidents. Then they expanded east and the population exploded. I could never live there again.
Hi Joe and Nicole, I love your unique channel, both of you are genuine in a crazy world. Joe's voice is soothing and Nic is sweet and gorgeous. These vids make my day better! Greenbay is simply beautiful and I love enjoying the old Churches and dining with you. In your future travels, I think you and your audience would love to visit the Door County peninsula of Wisconsin; one of the prettiest places I've vacationed at. The fam and I have a fave town there called Fish Creek...this place is so picturesque, like a postcard; you two would love it. Thanx for this video and all your great work! Peace and love
We had a similar house a few streets over they split into apartments on top 2 floors. My dad had to shovel coal into the furnace in the winter as part of his duties as the apt manager. I did a lot of experiments in the garage as it was far enough from the house to be able to clean up any accidents before anyone noticed. Huge backyards too so lots of gangs of kids roaming around. A very free range kids environment.
Thank you for your travels around real America. Very engaging style you have. Working from home here in the UK, it feels like I’m walking America with you. Many thanks
Due to some physical limitations and my age, I sometimes am forced to rest more than I would like to. Long story short, I watch a lot of TH-cam videos and I just want you guys to know that ur one of my favorites ❤️
Nic's meal was a perfect healthy meal, yours Joewould send my blood sugar thru the roof. Greenbay is a very clean city, and 66º is wonderful compared to the 89º feels like 99º here in East Texas.
Graduated from Preble high in 1982, Cow College, hopefully there football uniforms are still Green and Gold, currently living in Florida, miss my home town, will be moving back. Wild Bill was Prebles football coach. Nice guy .
I use to live in Green Bay from 2003-2006. It was the nicest place to live and has the nicest people as well. I lived right off Broadway on Velp which was closest to Gray Street. If You keep on going on Velp You end up on Military Avenue and if You don’t turn left on Military You end up in Howard, Wisconsin. I miss living in Green Bay. I spent a lot of time at Aurora Bay Care Hospital in the Vince Lombardi Cancer Clinic. Most of the homes are in the Tudor Style.
Similar to Cedar Rapids, beautiful cities, great looking weather but no-one outside enjoying it, kind of puzzling, still as usual a very well done video.
WOW!! I felt like I was riding through a storybook of dream towns! I love the entire town. It's so pretty and spotless. Their products are home staples - no fly-by-nights that are here today and gone tomorrow! The home is another duplex, $244,000. Joe, your meal looked scrumptious!!! Thanks.
Nice town The Packers have the most titles in NFL history, but they’re also older than everyone else with the exception of the Bears. I was in Wisconsin a couple years ago, but further south. I did some hiking on the Ice Age Trail and went to Devil’s Lake and Wisconsin Dells. Yet another pretty state
Devils Lake is awesome isn't it, those hikes are something else around the lake. Looking over the cliffs. It is really authentic nature here. Untouched.
I really enjoyed this video ! A lovely city, with a very interesting history ! I love the old theatre, and the church is beautiful ! Thank you so much, Joe and Nic.😊💖
Wow that was fun! Thanx u guys! What an awesome town. Nicole I loved ur choice 4 dinner and my husband, well he would of ordered what Joe had 4 sure! All that grub and a low tab! Thanx again. B safe.
If you would've stopped on Smith and Irwin and ,honked the horn I would of come out with a couple beers, sir. If you ever get this way again, stop at Krolls east. Try a butter burger or a perch plate. They don't disappoint. Damn, now I'm gonna have to go tomorrow.
My mom moved from Madison to Green Bay and lived there for two years until she passed away. I got to spend a lot of time in Green Bay and I fell in love with the city. It's extremely easy to get around the city and it's just a pleasant place to be.
You should have gone downriver about 30 miles to Appleton. Smaller city but nicer and more vibrant. There is nice college campus right next to downtown. While the city is very nice the best thing is the people and I’m not from there.
I prefer the Appleton area, southwest of Green Bay about 30 miles. This entire part of Wisconsin is a good place to live. Been here 30 years (half my life).
The range lights also have a second function. When you draw a line from the taller light right through the shorter light from a side view, the line will run down to one spot on the water. So if you are on a boat at night and approaching these lights and they appear to be one atop the other, stay on that course and continue to approach and the two lights will converge into one light. One light directly behind the other. You are on that spot on the water and that is where you should make a turn to a new heading marked by a different light. You are at a certain range (distance) from the lights.

Enjoy talk to my wife all the time and let her know about what a great job you do go pack go🏈
Love the Channel my wife and I are regular viewers . We want to fly to US from NZ hire a car and explore a city . Green Bay has just made its way on to the short list thanks to your excellent vid.
Thanks guys for the ride along. I have to be honest probly not my favorite parts of the country as I’m definitely an old southwest boy. That being said I truly enjoyed this video more than I expected. Thanks for taking me somewhere I most likely wouldn’t have taken myself. And don’t get me wrong there’s absolutely nothing wrong with the place at all. Actually quite beautiful. A I’m sure even much more out in the country side and farm country. Really clean looking city and great looking neighborhoods. And also have to admit I really love everything it’s famous for even though I’m not much of a ball fan I can appreciate anyone who is. But yep cheese, beer toilet paper most definitely tops my list too. LoL love the play on words with the smell our dairy air. LoL never heard that one really liked it. LoL 😂. And the food it’s hard to go wrong with a brat and good mustard and a beer. LoL thanks for the ride along appreciate it. Safe travels my friend, keep filming and I’ll keep watching.
Hi Joe Thanks for this nice video. You selected a good time to travel in this belt. Most of these states must be frozen in winter. I read somewhere that there are more cows in WI than human population, no doubt cheese is in abundance. Best luck for travel ahead!
Green Bay was number 1 because it is relatively cheap but quickly become less and less affordable, like most places. Those neighborhoods near the down town area are also becoming less and less safe. It's weather is great for about 4 or 5 months and then gets very cold and gray. Long winters if you're not into outdoor winter things. That being said, the surrounding communities of Depere, Allouez, Howard, etc are very nice and safe. Nobody is moving to GB proper unless you're escaping Milwaukee or Chicago
Green Bay is one of those places that I've always wanted to visit for some reason, now I don't want to go there in the dead of winter, that'll be a mistake but yeah, the very small town aspect even though they have a NFL team just gets me a bit fascinated. Hopefully I'll make that trip one day.
Its a beautiful city i need to visit someday (I do spend more than a little time in Kenosha Wisconsin kind of the second home for my musical endeavors outside of Chicago). Green Bay looks amazing, I probably wanted to order the food right between the two of you they like cheese curds I like the french fries I love salmon and salads, you two do a great job here
I live in Wisconsin, born and raised. I've been all over this country, north to south, east to west, I still prefer Wisconsin, despite the winter. We drink too much but we love each other. 🙂
Smell our derrière/dairy air also works on a 3rd level considering it's the French derivied term and the town was originally a French settlement they called "bay of stinky waters" like you mentioned. Its the perfect triple meaning play on words
I live in Green Bay, a bit sad you didn't go to bay beach. Its the cheapest amusement park in the US but defiantly not the worst ^^ its actually really awesome for families.
I went up there in the 70s to visy my mother and stepdad and got a job working in the canneries for the fall.👍it's change .a lot cleaner and rebuild a beautiful city.a lot to offer.greenbay is great 👍.
Very nice video on Green Bay. I learned a lot of interesting facts I didn’t know. I’ve lived in WI for 17 years. From Illinois originally. I’m glad you enjoyed the cheese curds. They are delicious. Great to see the architecture, homes and learn about the packers. Look forward to Iowa!
Awesome video, thanks for sharing! I don't think you mentioned median home prices, but the one you looked at is for sale for $245K with 5bedrooms and 2bathrooms. I'll have to watch again with my husband who grew up in Green Bay. Maybe you passed by his house. (?) I had a good laugh at the Dairy Air comment, asked him if "Cheese curds" were a thing (he said yes).
Adding to say the hubs and I watched it together. He muttered several times, most of which was in agreement. He did point out to me that the sidewalks have a huge verge between them and the street in the neighborhoods. Apparently, this was where all the snow plows piled up the snow - above 6' tall by January!
Fantastic video as someone from Wisconsin. Although I hate to expose our beautiful and safe state anymore, what can you do when they are already found out.
We do love our cheese! I know you like your smoked meats and "Ron's Cheese" in Luxemburg, WI has a smoked string cheese I'm betting you would love! You can order online as well.
$61 at the stadium. you very likely can have a very similar meal for 2, 5 miles away for $40. Personally if you stay away from milwaukee and madison you will probably like any place in WI.
I've been all over and Madison is wonderful. Milwaukee downtown is fine. If you know which parts to stay out of you will be fine. It's a great downtown. The crime is isolated in several bad areas that no sane person would go
The Green Bay Packers are the only football team in America that is our real hometown team because the citizens of Green Bay purchased stock in the team when it was formed. All other teams can leave tomorrow to go to another city but the shareholders won't let the Green Bay Packers go anywhere. The NFL created a rule prohibiting that to happen ever again with other cities and teams.
Thanks Joe & Nic for your amazing road trips and showing us the lesser known, but interesting parts of America. You should be funded by the American Tourist Board (if there is one) as I'm sure you've helped to improve both domestic and international tourism in the United States. Keep those videos coming and please continue to visit obscure towns/villages in every state. 🤗
We moved away from WI about 5yrs ago. Turns out...in general, WI has some of the better food/grocery stores in the country. We miss it terribly.
Come back home!!! ❤
That’s how I feel about leaving Ohio. It’s not so shitty anymore when you compare it to most places down south.
Come home, it's not worth whatever you left for. We gotta stick together.

There are a lot of nice cities not this boring icebox.
@chicagomike We found our Bears fan! Yeah, Green Bay is sooo much colder than Chicago. Give it a rest.
Green Bay has always had a seedier underside (but what city doesn’t?) - and police corruption and city politics rivaled New Orleans 30 years ago.

I love that Lambeau field stadium 🏟 is right in the middle of a residential neighborhood like a high-school stadium.
it was a high school stadium, in the 1960's open end zones still ! etc.
Much like British football( soccer) stadiums from when they started in thr late 19th Century. Houses literally built right up to the gates
@@pstan5899 It's really cool !
@@stewartcarroll304 I love in FA Cup Qualifying when EPL teams draw lower level teams away & you see houses in the background !
It used to look like a high school stadium. What we see now is the result of extensive renovations.
Go Pack Go. My first Packer game I saw at Lambeau was in 1965 against the Bears.
Hey you guys finally made it back to Wisconsin! Welcome! OH and don't forget we're also known for Kringle, Brats and Sausages!

Green Bay looks amazing, I probably wanted to order the food right between the two of you they like cheese curds I like the french fries I love salmon and salads, you two do a great job here
Thank you!
I live in Wisconsin, born and raised. I've been all over this country, north to south, east to west, I still prefer Wisconsin, despite the winter. We drink too much but we love each other. 🙂
Love that Joe is a traveler and not a tourist and eats what the locals eat. 😊 thanks for the fantastic content.
I am a regular watcher..your presentations have grown to become excellent! Keep up your great work. Keep safe in your travels!😮
Thank you!!
Smell our derrière/dairy air also works on a 3rd level considering it's the French derivied term and the town was originally a French settlement they called "bay of stinky waters" like you mentioned. Its the perfect triple meaning play on words
Please let me know if you are in Green Bay and would like a private tour of the Grassy Island Range Lights . I am an official lighthouse Keeper.
Wow, I'll remember that next time I'm there. I would like to get a closer look at them!
You went to Wisconsin and didn't have a spotted cow beer!??!
What a perfect little town, would love to go to a Packers game at Lambeau Feld!
thx, nice job, i live in bay View south of downtown Milwaukee, been all over the state
Very nice video on Green Bay. I learned a lot of interesting facts I didn’t know. I’ve lived in WI for 17 years. From Illinois originally. I’m glad you enjoyed the cheese curds. They are delicious. Great to see the architecture, homes and learn about the packers. Look forward to Iowa!
Thank you for the great comment as usual,, Alexandra!
Awesome! :)
Welcome to our state!
❤❤😂😂😂always delighted to watch the videos..we get to tour america though we might never come there ..we are grateful🎉🎉🎉❤❤joe and nic..keep up
We will! :)
Fantastic video as someone from Wisconsin. Although I hate to expose our beautiful and safe state anymore, what can you do when they are already found out.
Great...I finally got to visit Green Bay :)
Ya coulda went to Krolls across the street from Lambeau and had a butter burger
I never miss a stop (or 3) at krolls when I visit.
👍Sidewalks so clean you could eat your dinner off of them. Something you wouldn't want to be doing in Portsmouth, England, btw👍
We do love our cheese! I know you like your smoked meats and "Ron's Cheese" in Luxemburg, WI has a smoked string cheese I'm betting you would love! You can order online as well.
Nasty Winter Climate!
I lived on the lakeshore about 45 minutes from there and we lasted a few years and moved back down south. It was rough.
Let's not mention that!
It ain't that bad..
@@dawntatu3446 Please tell your residents that they need NOT come to AZ every winter.
@@SmittyAZ lol! Sorry. We can't control our older population, they wander freely.
Green Bay has to be the most all American town there is.
Pretty close. :)
Haven’t been to Wisconsin in a while, must put this on my list. Dang my list is getting big lol. Green Bay looks like a nice city.
Thank you very much💯
$61 at the stadium. you very likely can have a very similar meal for 2, 5 miles away for $40. Personally if you stay away from milwaukee and madison you will probably like any place in WI.
I've been all over and Madison is wonderful. Milwaukee downtown is fine. If you know which parts to stay out of you will be fine. It's a great downtown. The crime is isolated in several bad areas that no sane person would go
Ice Cream during the summer months and almost as intoxicating too 🎂🍒❤️
The Green Bay Packers are the only football team in America that is our real hometown team because the citizens of Green Bay purchased stock in the team when it was formed. All other teams can leave tomorrow to go to another city but the shareholders won't let the Green Bay Packers go anywhere. The NFL created a rule prohibiting that to happen ever again with other cities and teams.
We also haven't fixed our roads since 1919, but other than that it's pretty nice here.
The “smell our dairy air” slogan also has a third meaning when you consider the name the French initially gave the city as well
Green Bay is certainly different than its neighbor to the south Chicago , Happy Trails !
After driving around and investigating some really nice cities, I wonder if there’s anywhere you’d like to relocate to
