As a Hungarian, I confess the term 'horsebow' is annoying. But then, some people call certain soldiers 'horse cavalry'. Huh? That's what 'cavalry' means, 'horsemen'. So, what is a horsebow? It is a bow used by a horse!!! :)
This is a very non-controversial topic. Anyone thinking about "Horse bows" Will instantly recognize them. In example, I wouldn't mistake an asymetric japanese bow with a "true" horsebow despite the one used in kyudo was a viable weapon at horse.
Hi, I have read that some people prefer the term "reflex bows", when they were talking about those kind of bows in general. What do you think about using this term?
late to the video, I know, but are there any manufacturers that make an affordable horse bow in the US? I've seen entry level horse bows in some of your's and other's videos but never found a US distributor for them. in fact I havent been able to find any quality horsebows outside of customs based here.
When I was in Taiwan, they called these bows traditional bows. As for traditional bows in the West, they were called “hunting bows” or “American hunting bows” in Taiwan. Then recurve bows mean only Olympic style, then etc.
People who used these probably called them "bows"
my favorite joke is, " no horses where injured in the making of this bow".

Stop killing horses to make horse bows
So is a compound bow made of compound? Are crossbows made of crosses?

Fibreglass itself is a composite material, fibreglass bows are composite.

I thought the correct term changed based on the style which are typically named by the cultures that developed them
