In my humble opinion, I believe this to be the ultimate mono-hull. Laundry & dishwasher in a centralized area similar to Oyster. The hardtop cockpit area is rather unique in terms of the wheel placement, making it certainly superior to the close behind Oyster for passage safety. 😊
We are big fans of Amel, hopefully, we will be looking at an Oyster in depth over Christmas so it will be good to make a comparison. Thank you for watching;)
im a Hallberg rassy lover but i must say this AMEL 60 Takes the cake in Spades. Its just a stunning yacht. Also i think what makes its interior stand out is the lighter wood so much brighter which in the past on the Amel has been darker which i was not a big fan. Great video and would love to see a test sail on this yacht. cheers all the best and happy New year from the Brit in California.
There will be a test sail of the 50 coming up in the spring, and hopefully, if we can sweet talk them into it, a test sail on the 60 in September at the Cannes boat show. Thank you for watching;)
I dunno, it's very awesome.....In my Opinion though your Video of the Garcia 60 EXPLORATION, seems to be the Very Best Vessel I've ever seen...... awesome Channel ❤
Rough night, eh? That "wind instrument" was the autopilot. Don't worry, we've all been there. ;) Loving all the storage options on this boat - pantry space for days!
It was I had to stop for 20 mins and then restart. there were many parties at Cannes and I forgot I was not 21 anymore. One of the great things we love about Amel is the amount of storage and an amazing sailboat throughout. thanks for taking the time to watch and comment, more coming from Amel in the future;)
What a fantastic video, it was really nice to see the boat we will be getting next year, the only changes we made to our boat were primarily based on energy management we went for the solar panels on the cockpit roof, and the davits, a Watt & Sea pod 600 for hydrogenation, and a Sea AI formally known as Oscar for better visibility when you're passage making at night. You can see the difference of an extra ten feet between the fifty, and the sixty great video can't wait to see your next video.
@@miketybring4700 Unfortunately no, my wife and I plan to operate it, and we have adult children so when they are on the boat we will put them to work.
What a great opportunity for you to be able to review such a lovely sailboat, I know you guys are sailing in the Greek islands at the moment so have fun;)
The 50 is a more manageable size and yes given a choice we would also take the Amel 50 purely because I think it would be easier for us to handle. I love the HR 50 as well and will admit to being a big Oaster fan, we have not yet had a chance to see a Kraken in the flesh so I would not like to give an opinion but on paper, it comes across as a very capable blue water sailboat. Thank you for watching;)
2:30 how do you come to the conclusion, the „traveler only“ system gives you „a lot more control, a lot more power“? I‘d say it is just the opposite. The German ms system doubles your power over the boom and, that was the idea in first place, ensures a steady tension whilst tacking. Maybe you saw some pseudo German ms systems (they are quite frequent)
Si estamos a bordo de un súper velero, para que nos muestra el interior con tanto detalle!. Hay que verlo navegando en ceñidas, traveses y popas, con todas las velas. You understand?
Ah the Amel Oyster debate it would be lovely to have a choice but we hope this September we will be able to do a direct comparison at the Canes boat show. Thank you for watching
19:37 "The joinery is absolutely solid".......... about this time steam is emitting from my ears as I experience sub -psychotic rage as every single shot of a drawer is end-on and fails to actually show the joinery.... Nice video otherwise, and lovely yacht! 🙃 Sorry to rip on ya for a little detail but I had to rage. Cheers. (don't stop).

@@SVTONICBoatWives I’ll be there! Sirius has a really nice video done in their factory where they talk a lot about the woodwork. It really scratches that itch LOL.
Wonder how long the air conditioning system can run on just the batteries. One popular brand touts it can run its AC for 10 hours on the batteries . That would be a great night sleep while on the hook in the Caribbean or Bahamas.
The absolutte most desirable sailing monohul. Amel's problem I however, that their boats are even more expensive than some same length catamarans, which of course then offer much more space.
You may think that I am a bit of a joker. But when I considering spending some of my gold treasure (booty) I may let my sarcasm flow. I’m thinking $2 million or thereabouts. Go ahead and PM me.
Must admit I really can't getbon with the corkscrew motion effect I've had on Catamarans, tbh, may be a result of the short vertical faced waves so common in Irish Sea off the West Coast of Wales. Never made me seasick (I dose with half a Stugeron before going aboard anyway, had 3 days of severe sickness in a bad storm, and never want that again), but for me that motion is really off-putting and disorienting enough to rule out Catamarans. But oddly, not had that -yet- with a Trimaran, which can be that nice, I almost bought one years ago. I'll be sticking with a nice production Monohull thanks, much lower running costs, Marina Costs, etc, plus I like the motion of monohull Sailboats when underway, and less chance if being chu ked around like a large ball-bearing inside a Pinball Machine. Best Wishes and Far Winds. Bob. PS. Amel, Hallberg-Rassey and such not really my cup of tea, and way outside my budget tbh. Doubt I'd buy one though, even if inside my Budget, If loaded with a huge Piggy Bank, , I think I'd go for a Sirius 40 DS Twin Keel. Construction slots are already being filled for 2026 though, few remaining for 2025 and a slim chance for 2024 apparently Nice Boats. 🤔
Too ugly with this hardtop. If a yacht is not beautiful I don't buy. Don't care about advantages or disadvantages on a hardtop or anything else that makes a yacht look like a truck

Without question - One of the finest of bluewater sailboats
Love the Amel 60 and good review, well done!

Do love the placement of the wheel. Tucked inside the bimini away from the weather. It's a cruising craft, not pretending to be a racer.

Some very clever design touches and very stylish, but simply not as practical and well laid out as an Oyster 595.
