    The course I recommend in this video is actually no longer for sale! Which is sad because it was a great resource. But, I have an alternative! This is another affiliate marketing course I took that I love, which you can check out here- Making Sense of Affiliate Marketing: www.sarahmarie.blog/makingsense

    • @SarahMarieBlog
      @SarahMarieBlog  22 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      You don't need to pay for plugins, unless you mean you're not paying for your site as a whole and therefore can't get plugins.
      Your only option would be to write it out every time. Unless you have self-hosted WordPress, then I do have another work-around! Let me know and I'll explain :)

    • @SarahMarieBlog
      @SarahMarieBlog  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      There could be a ton wrong so it's hard to say. Just because someone clicks or views, doesn't mean they'll buy. So there is likely a disconnect somewhere between the product and your audience.
      Is the price too high, is it not something they actually want? Are the reviews bad? Maybe the link is broken. But it could be any number of things.
      I get a lot of clicks. Not all of them convert to a sale. Sometimes, that's just the way it is!

    I barely started my TH-cam channel. It's about amazon finds that actually works and that I actually kept. I barely rolled in amazon affiliate I'm still not sure if im getting approved. So do I still need to do the disclaimer? If yes what should be disclaimer say?

    • @SarahMarieBlog
      @SarahMarieBlog  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It wouldn't hurt to put if you are planning on continuing to apply, even on the off chance that you get declined this time. That way you wouldn't have to go back and add it later!
      You can check out my description for inspo because each one has it but it could say something like this:
      DISCLAIMER: Links included in the description might be affiliate links, which means I may receive a small commission (at no additional cost to you!) for purchases made through these links. Thank you for supporting my channel so I can continue creating free content each week! (Learn more: www.sarahmarie.blog/disclaimer/)

    • @MichaelxKimmy414

      Thank you so much
      And last question. And for the disclaimer has to be in every video or can I just have it on my profile(youtube) about me:

    • @SarahMarieBlog
      @SarahMarieBlog  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @MichaelxKimmy414 I would say no, it needs to be in every video description where affiliate links are
      In blog posts it needs to be in every post, above the affiliate links, and as close to them as possible (I have a short one at the beginning of every single post)
      So the same should be followed with TH-cam. Although on my description, the disclaimer is more near the bottom of the description.

    Good evening, Sarah, I enjoyed watching your video, it's exciting and informative from what I've seen but as it's in English. My English isn't top-notch, I've activated the French subtitles but sometimes that doesn't allow me to understand correctly. So I've got some questions: Should the privacy policy and terms and conditions (to comply with Amazon's instructions) be no-followed or followed? And the links. Thanks for your help!

    • @SarahMarieBlog
      @SarahMarieBlog  ปีที่แล้ว

      Don't worry, I can explain! So the private policy and terms and conditions are legal pages you need on your site. You need them more for protecting your site and following the law than you do for affiliate marketing, but they're still important to have.
      For the no-follow and do-follow, that relates to your affiliate links. All affiliate links need to be marked as "No-follow". All this means is Google won't "follow through" and check out the link because you could get money from promoting it.
      So affiliate links should be "no follow" and all other links (that you won't make money from) like linking to another webpage or resource, can be "do follow". hope that makes sense!

    • @SarahMarieBlog
      @SarahMarieBlog  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Text links preform best for me, but you can do both and test! Have an affiliate link as a call to action (Ex: Click here to check out the product) and you also could have a photo of the product below that if you wanted and have the image link to the affiliate product as well.
      I do this on occasion if there is a photo I can use, otherwise I just use text links and they preform the best for me. If the picture looks like an ad, people may skip past it!

      @@Digitalcataloghub There isn't a "benefit" to marking them as no follow exactly, it's just what you have to do. If you are getting paid, or potentially getting paid, for a link being posted on your blog you need to let Google know about it!
      The benefit for having the link would be getting paid for it, but Google needs to know when it is a paid link or when it is organic (Meaning I'm linking to another blog to give readers more information for example)
      and as far as I know, a sponsored link is used when you have gotten paid by a brand to put it there and money is already exchanged, as opposed to a no follow affiliate link where a commission is possible after a purchase. That's my understanding at least!

      @Lotuskitty27 sure! So if you're using WordPress and Gutenburg, you can set up a reusable block with the text you want, and then name it "affiliate disclaimer" or something so all you'd need to do it type /affiliate and it would pop up. Okay so here's what you gotta do broken down real simple. Write out whatever you want your disclosure to say. Mine says "This post contains affiliate links. This means I will make a commission at no extra cost to you should you click through and make a purchase. Read the full disclosure here."
      Feel free to use that exact wording in yours! Make sure you add your disclosure link where it says "Read the full disclosure here."
      On the side, you should see the option to change the text size. You don't have to, but I brought mine down to 12 so its readable but not noticeable and people don't read it as if it's the beginning of the blog post.
      Then click on the 3 dots "Option" button while you're clicked on the block (Near where you can Bold, Italics and all that)
      There's an option to "Create as reusable block" Name it something you can remember like "Affiliate disclosure" and save it.
      Now, when you go to add it at the top of your blog posts type /affiliate disclosure and it will come up! Make sure you add that for every blog post with affiliate links and you're good to go!
      Set it up once and reuse it over and over again! Hope that helped, and if not, I might make a video on this topic anyway to show others!

    Hi, So I’m just starting out and trying to figure all the rules out. Your video is confusing. First you show the italicized disclaimer as the first paragraph in the blog article, then later you say that it shouldn’t be there due to Google results then you show a shot of the blog without the disclaimer. I looked at it 3 times. It appears to be the same article. Can you clarify this? Maybe I’m missing something.

    • @SarahMarieBlog
      @SarahMarieBlog  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I can explain! So back when I did this video, I used a plugin that would automatically add the affiliate disclaimer to each blog post. I wouldn't type it out manually each time because if you didn't change the meta description (Which is what Google uses to describe your blog post in search) then the first thing you typed (The affiliate disclaimer) would show up in Google.
      But I do it differently now because I realized the plugin was slowing down my site. Now, I created a "pattern block" to manually add in my affiliate disclaimer. It can be hard to explain though.
      If you want, shoot me an email. I can take screenshots and show you what I did :) sarah@sarahmarie.blog. otherwise, try to look up how to do a pattern or reusable block in WordPress (They changed the name of it) and check out one of my blog posts to see what mine looks like now!
