    Just got it in the same colour Sonic Blue...badass guitar...the pickups are awesome. This is a 100% honest review...it sounds like a 24 3/4 scale...bigger guitar.

    I love this Mustang. I have one in penny. My main guitar atm. Thanks for doing a video on it! I got into them because of Norah Jones! She has an incredible tone on her’s. I’m now lucky enough to also own a real 1964 Mustang, that one is easily the nicest guitar I’ve ever owned but obviously I’m afraid to just take it with me everytime to the studio. Mustangs are just as good as any Fender. Originally they actually cost more than Esquires did. Not as cheap as people often think. I once calculated that a Mustang back in 64 roughly cost 1500$ in today’s money. They’re also physically actually longer than strats if you place them side by side even though the scale is shorter. And if you’re a Gibson person the scale feels very similar

      I just bought one in Penny for myself in April. Very happy with it as well! An underrated Fender for sure.

      Got one about a year ago in Vintage White. Amazing. Had it set up to do 11's, and it's lock solid on tuning. The trem is solid, and has 2 upgrades that that keep it in tune nearly as well as the 2 point on a new American Strat. It really is quite a bit better than many think it is. I got this for a birthday gift, and I play it constantly. Have plenty of Fender axes, pics on FB.

      @@caiusmadison2996 what upgrades are this?

    • @caiusmadison2996

      @@Pyrianderthis model has refigured posts under the cigar that makes it much less prone to slipping plus it has the better 3 notch design under the plate allowing for the full range. Mexico version has 2 notches most often and that can be a bummer when ya go to set it up. There are also two stabilization discs that are attached just under the cigar to facilitate perfect even rocking, no mispulled bridges anymore! These two simple upgrades make this a far more functional Mustang than any other I've seen.

    The 24” scale is from nut to bridge.. A Gibson is 24.75 a Fender is usually 25.5 a Jaguar is 24” Jazzmaster is 25.5. Yes it will be slinky feeling, I would still rock 8’s or 9’s on it. Id prefer the dip switches over the toggle. Japan makes a great Mustang.
    As a big guy 6’ 2” 220lbs it does fit my like a ukulele 😅

    I find them fantastic for rhythm/chord parts, but horrible for lead stuff up the neck. Love the aesthetic though - real old school surf/rockabilly or dirty grunge/shoegazer vibes.

    Great guitar brilliant neck modded the hell out of my one. Seymour Duncan hotrail in the bridge, Staytrem bridge, hard tailed it, moved the pickup selector to control plate where the input jack is and installed a side input jack plate. Love it 😊

      @@MrDJDanny29hi I would still like to see the mods you made for your mustang if you still own it. I too am looking to move the switch and put a side jack but wanted to see an example.

    You forgot to mention the small metal rod which is supplied to lock/limit the tremolo's movement. See those holes in the tailpiece,that's where it goes.

    Hello! Is the scale lenght to small as compared to a gibson 24.7 ? do the frets feel crowded after the 10th fret ? thank you.

    • @lassesuurmunne8340
      @lassesuurmunne8340 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      True, I miss the switches but this is one of the best built Mustangs ever though. You can always mod it. I have this one and 6 other Stangs lol. So I’m ok with this one being a little different

    • @caiusmadison2996
      @caiusmadison2996 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Honestly, I don't miss mine. I had an original, and recently, I just don't really want anything that doesn't have streamlined controls, and the better bridge is just incredible for stability. Wish they would sell it individually. It works substantially better. Easier to setup, too.

    • @twenty3electronics
      @twenty3electronics 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      The slide switches only allow one extra sound: out of phase. But they are very inconvenient to use since you must change two settings just to go from the neck to the bridge. Much prefer the 3 way. Add push pots for out of phase and serial settings

      The pickups and tremelo are so good on this model....just put an out of phase on it yourself.

    You can shove a Tele bridge pickup in there and... it still won't sound like a Tele. Wrong scale length.

    How does this guy not know how to .pronounce Yosemite?? And he was wrong, they came out in the 60s not the 50s. Fact checking your videos isn't that difficult. Just Google these things. It undermines your credibility.

      Agreed ' you should go over there and tell him
      * Hey boy gimme that there guitar and then knock him off his stool and tell him to fetch you a beer and to go over there somewhere and sit in the corner and keep his mouth shut and take notes.
