  • Join me for a day in the life of a doctor. I'm a 3rd year internal medicine resident and currently I'm completing my obstetric medicine rotation. This is a relatively new field of medicine. We treat pregnant women with medical conditions that have gotten worse in pregnancy, or new medical conditions that occur during pregnancy.

@dumbo interneto I highly doubt that... lol honestly I think it is a combination of her personality and the fact that she is Canadian. I've found that most all of them that I've interacted with are just more cheerful and upbeat overall. A cultural thing perhaps? Which is funny since I live not far from the border but it's so much different on this side vs. that one.

I echo that! Many of us who are mental health care providers have moved to virtual platforms to support our clients, but it still isn't quite the same as being in a room face to face with someone. I'd love to hear how a medical professional working in a hospital during a pandemic mitigates risk/anxiety/internalization, etc. Love your channel!

This week I have worked across many specialities even being shipped to different hospitals to make up numbers there. Canada looks like it’s doing well in its handling of this pandemic. Huge respect for all the doctors, nurses, and health care providers dealing with this pandemic. As someone who works for a busy grocery store I've had roller coaster emotions about many things in relation to what's happening now. I think it would be great to have a doctor's emotional perspective on it. Plus I think you're right about it being good for you to explore them. Stay safe, and thank you for all that you do ✌️❤️.

Not just what you do now, thank you for what you do when there is't a pandemic. Thank you for working long hours to train so you can be even better doctor in the future. Thank you for every time you have been kind when you were tired, hungery or nervous. When you worked a long shift and nobody could have blamed you for losing patience if you did, but you were kind and understanfing and patient anyway. Thank you for doing good when it is easy and when i Is not.
I am medical student and if one day I become half as good doctor as you are I will consider it a success.

I think it would be good for both yourself and your viewers to hear how as a doctor you feel about the possibility of infection " how you deal with the worry and stress of the unknown " the pandemic planning in the case of one of you becoming ill" but no pressure only if you feel you want to share " you are doing a great job thank you so much for your efforts " and your content am in New Zealand and it is great to see other nations pulling together keep it up

Honestly I’ve been working in the medical field for over 13 years and this is the first time I’ve actually been scared that I might die of something at work. I’m an immunocompromised nurse due to both autoimmune diseases and the medications used to treat them. I work in outpt dialysis. Recently the first nurse in the US died of Covid-19 right here in Michigan. It’s hitting really close to home.
