    Here is how I did my own post bacc to apply to medical school as a nontraditional business undergraduate. While I was doing the pre med classes, I was also working full-time and finishing up my MBA
    Fall 2021:
    Bio 1 (I took a placement test to skip the intro class required for bio1)
    Chem 2 (I took Chem 1, 5 years ago prior to 2021)
    Phy 2 (I had AP credit for Phys 1)
    Started studying for MCAT (Winter break, MCAT in April)
    Winter:
    Bio 2
    Chem 3
    Ochem 1
    Spring:
    Ochem 2
    Phys 3
    APPLY TO MED SCHOOL!
    Summer
    Bio 3
    Fall 2022
    Biochem (Optional: only took it because my school needed it)
    Ochem 3
    FIRST ACCEPTANCE!
    Winter
    Anatomy and physiology (Optional: only took it because my school needed it)
    Started MEDICAL SCHOOL 2023

    Very impressive. Just wondering if you had patient-care experience, extracurricular activities, or doctor shadowing experience prior to applying.

      I did! I actually had these experiences never intending to go to medical school. It was just I loved volunteering at the hospitals and working with patients. Prior to my MBA, I worked full-time as a Patient Oncology Coordinator and a year volunteering at a Children's Hospital. I also had other experiences from working as a physical therapy intern and volunteering with the Vasculitis Foundation. In terms of doctor shadowing hours, I didn't have many hours as a traditional applicant (ie. less than 40 hours?) I don't remember specifics.

      Thanks very much. I am currently a Medical Lab Technologist and looking for patient care roles.

    Hi Jessica. Thankyou so much for making this video. As a non traditional pre med student myself planning to do a diy post bac, every information is super helpful. Will it be possible to meet with you one on one like on a zoom or teams meeting ? I have so many questions and I am feeling a bit lost.

    This is awesome, was your post-bacc online?

    • @jessicakent308
      @jessicakent308  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No it was hybrid! Most lectures were online while labs were inperson due to covid

    I see that you took your mcat in April, were you able to get your results before submitting the primary applications? I also do plan on taking it this April, is it a good idea?

    • @jessicakent308
      @jessicakent308  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes! My results came in the same day I was able to submit my primary application. I took my MCAT at the end of April

      The mcat score release date just happened to be the same day amcas allowed us to submit the primary application. The aamc will tell you what day mcat scores will be released based on your test date

    Hi, did you do your DIY through a community college or a state uni? Thanks! 😊

    • @jessicakent308
      @jessicakent308  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I did some at a community college and most at a very small state college (it was not a university by any means or highly ranked college).

    Hi! I am a nontraditional student studying mcat right now and struggling so much! Could you share the 300 pg psych/soc file you were talking about and any word of advice for the mcat? Like for those who have super low scores.

    • @jessicakent308
      @jessicakent308  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      www.mcatbros.com/mcat-studying-resources (just scroll down and you can download a digital version of the 300pg document).
      My advice is to just be patient with yourself. If you have been studying for a very long time for the MCAT ie. 4 months without much score improvement, reflect if it is truly the content knowledge you are lacking or the way you are approaching/understanding the question. Good luck!!

    Can you apply without finishing all your prereqs..?

    • @jessicakent308
      @jessicakent308  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes you can apply without finishing all the pre reqs! You can also apply without your MCAT too but some schools may hold your application until they recieve your score. Personally I'd recommend applying with a score so you make a more informed decision of what schools to apply to
