How to Boot in Verbose Mode in macOS Catalina

  • Want to boot your Mac in verbose mode? Here's how to enable and disable verbose mode.
    Command to enable verbose mode:
    sudo nvram boot-args="-v"
    Command to disable verbose mode:
    sudo nvram boot-args=""
    Please Note: The computer in this video is running macOS 10.15 Catalina. This video may or may not apply to future versions of this operating system.

      Then just try to boot up the machine, but before the Apple logo appears, press and hold: Command-V. If this doesn't works, it means that, either you've pressed it wrong and the Mac didn't recognize it, or you are using a firmware password. Also, don't press those keys immediately after you pressed the power button; wait a second or two and then press 'em. Doing so will result on the Mac don't registering it and booting into macOS like it normally does.
