Real good job you did minimal money spent to have a good trailer. Ive checked out the value for new $1,200, due to inflation everything has gotten outrageous. Keep up the good work. 👍🏼👍🏼
Great job! We think a lot because when I redid my trailer I replaced all the wood painted the frame the same blue as your fenders and my fenders are black and white wheels.
I would add some tie down points in the floor for future use and a tool box on the tong ,you could add some angle or strapping to the tong and lay the spare flat on it and bolt it
There is a funny thing about Tyre Sizes; They are measured in millimetres, inches and a ratio. 205(mm)/75(%)R15 have a smaller diameter (689mm/27.13") than 235/75R15 tyres (734mm/28.94"). This will give you (about) one extra inch of ride height and give you (about) one less inch of clearance to the fender/mudguard). It will (obviously) also affect the width of the wheel in the guard, but also the unsprung weight.
Coming late to the discussion, but by now you have some practical experience with the trailer, ride, and wheel clearance. You do have options. I noticed that your axle has spring seats both above and below the axle tube (usually in one spot or the other). Right now, you are running under slung, I.e. springs are below the axle. You could easily change this to run over slung, with the springs on top of the axle. You would gain about 5 inches in ride height (deck would be higher off the ground) but you would gain clearance above the wheel and around the fender. It would just cost you some new U bolts (NEVER reuse U bolts!). Just undo the U bolts, move the axle underneath the leaf springs with the bolt on the bottom of the springs going into the top spring seat instead of the bottom one, put new U bolts on with the tie plate on top now, and away you go. Worth the experiment if clearance is still an issue. I enjoyed the video. To be honest, I would have kept the gate and the axle and springs, and rebuilt the rest of the frame from fresh steel. But you did well. Congrats!
I like the build. My only suggestion would be to treat the wood to preserve it. I use a 50/50 mix of diesel and used motor oil in a cheap garden sprayer to coat all sides including the bottom.
i wouldve painted the wood floor and sides black as well plus it would last longer or use old engine oil mix a little diesel stain it thats nearly free
Trailer came out great! Great job! 👍🏻
I'd mount the spare on the outside of the box from where it is now. Every time you go to haul a full load, it'll be in the way.
That’s what I’m planning on doing. Always in the way but when you need it
AWESOME JOB!!!
Thank you! Cheers!

Tie downs are a must. Been putting spare in tow vehicle
Nice work so far…I would have painted the whole trailer black as it’s the cheapest spray paint currently.
Thanks. Guy definitely over budget on the paint. Lol. Just fill it with mulch and it did good.

I'm glad you enjoyed the build. Thanks so much for the motor oil tip. Guys always got plenty of used oil around.
If ya load it and the tires rub, move it to spring over. Seeing as it has perches on both sides, it was probably lowered at some point.
Thanks. Been hauling top soil 1/2 yrd at a time no problem.
I always wondered why trailers were always black. What if you had one that matched the color of your vehicle? I think that would look pretty cool.
Now that would be sharp.
How much do you have invested in it including purchase price?
Still under $400 not including the hours of labor I have into it. Thx for Watching

I’ve never tried the engine oil before. Might do that in the future. Free is good. Thx
Great project but I don't understand why cutting corners on paint job after all the effort you put on?
Yeah paint’s expensive and I’m definitely not a painter. Probably my least favorite thing to do. Thanks for watching
Haul the spare in the tow vehicle
Thanks so much for watching!
Paint the hub blue
