I been thinking about putting in a max10 in a 1/7 scale truck and making it light as possible (1/10 spec)to run on one 3s but for a manufacturer to put a max10 in a truck this big is strange. That thing flys in the air though definitely has potential with how the weight distribution is set up out 😎👍

I recommend using lipo batteries. It looks like it is supposed to use lipo batteries in the factory configuration. You should get more power and more charge out of them.

- great handling off road
- tires wear great for me
- fast enough to run tracks with UDRs and SBRs
- it likes a two 2s battery setup
-Redcat has been great with help
- body is super tough
Dislikes
- would be way better with 5 lbs shaved off somehow
- needs stiffer chassis, tweeked mine a couple times. Redcat did send me a new one free
- needs stronger/faster servo but all RTRs do
- you will eventually want more 6s and or hight tooth pinion due to its weight
- needs a more size-forgiving battery strap system, not long enough for 4s packs

Mods Ive done is just shock fluid is now Valvoline 70-120, locktight on driveshaft grug screws, removed most of ttoe-in both front and back.
If for some reason you get a sticky steering linkage, check the chassis for tweeks. Had two back wrecks and after each steering was almost locked. Double thick popcan shim between front bulkhead and chassis fixed it fine. That odd eclosed steering linkage it unforgiving to tweekage.
You did put motoroil in your shocks?

I like it ..some people see just what it is...others see what it could be. Seems pretty decent stock...I would have set the esc up before running it though...that esc should push that much harder than it does. Good video though
The reason i ran is just straight up out of the box is more for content so in the future i can show what it can become. Also what do you mean by setting up the esc? this was a max10 G1 not a lot of cool options to setup from what i saw in the manual except for the punch/ start mode.
My buddy has one but the shocks are junk they don't hold up to the weight of the truggy even change the shock oil and springs
Yup i think that's because they don't have the rubber cap at the end meaning there is always air inside. What i did is i put in the thickest flued i could find and adjusted the springs to be the hardest but haven't driven it yet but on the ground it already sits higher now.
4s is week for a 6 scale basher.
This vid feels mjch better than last 3, first of car's got good handlig, at least i think so, like car doesnt flip while driving, manuvering and such... lastly, local event it is so cool
yeah bigger car is easier to film, drive and much more fun i'm also getting more comfortable to film outside. I always had that weird feeling of people are looking at me funny XD but now i just do my thing and get my content

Ive been wanting a real rc car for awhile now. This looks about 400 Canadian from redcat. Is there anywhere cheaper or should i go straight to them?.

Straight from them. But wait for the blackfriday sale. i heard they usually go for a bit cheaper then. I haven't seen websites sell these cheaper. 300usd already feels like a steal 😂
Probably the best Machete video out there. Covers it, has bashing. Looks like a fun ripper. I like the stance & overall look of it. Sounds like it's worth spending just a 100 more to get the 6s version with the better ESC & motor. Let us know if it handles those larger, wider tires okay. They look cool but that'll also be more stress in the drivetrain.... Just as a heads up for anybody not in the know, apparently if you ever switch motors (or not one of Redcat's motors), you'll be hard pressed to find a motor that has a 25mm long motor shaft. I guess standard is 20 and with 20 with the motor plate so thick, the pinion doesn't really fit on. Another guy made a video about the motor mount in how he wishes it wasn't so thick. But if you don't plan on switching motors, then it's kinda a moot point.
Thanks i saw the same video. Right now i'm waiting on a 1.3mm hex to remove the driveshafts so i measure how much room i need or if i can somehow mod the motor mount.
You also get the 7075 chassis with the 6s version so for that $100 it's even more value. I grabbed the 4s version when it was on sale for $299. Couldn't pass that up and had a spare 6s brushless combo ready to drop in it. Plus got the stock 120a max10 to upgrade a 1/10th scale in the collection

Lots of delay on the servo
Yeah i saw that when editing but while driving there was no delay at all it was very smooth it's just a slow and weak servo.

Big crossout/rc fan here, two questions. You mentioned being from a third world country, what country do you live in? Secondly have you ever been into rc crawler rigs? Heavy reccomendations for the axial SCX-10. Best of luck with all your channels JB
Thanks man. I live in a super small country called Suriname. Right now i have a small collection of RC's 1 small heli and boat and a tank but no crawlers yet. I honestly wasn't sure which one to get. I don't want something super small but also not too expensive :) I'll check out the SCX-10 any specific version i should get?
Why go for the 4s? The 6s is worth the extra cost
I'm gonna be honest it took me 2 months to fully pay for this RC. I'm not rich, and it was the only large RC i could afford to make some content on. Before this, i got some filming equipment and the volcano and mjx and parts for the earthquake 8e so moneywise i was tight.
I've been running my 4s since the 299 sale. It's pretty darn good. Seems best with two 2s batteries vs two 4s. Noticeable quicker. I do plan on going 6s though and use the 4s system in a ARRMA BigRock
@sidewalkhillbilly6636 Eventually, i want to upgrade both motor and esc, but first, i wanan try 6 is with this high kv motor. It should be able to handle it.

I grabbed this when they had it on sale for $299. I couldn't pass that deal up! Haven't run it yet as im swapping the motor and esc. You should grab one of the max8 quick runs for this. They are a great value/esc for the money. I grabbed a max8 G2 as it would arrive faster. You got me motivated to do the swap and test er out! Great job going over everything 👏🏻 👍🏻
Before you start working on it order yourself a high quality 1.3mm hex for the driveshafts. Cuz i can't work on the car since for some silly reason they used a 1.3mm over there and no shop in my country has that small XD. I already swapped out the servo and esc just can't remove the center diff yet.

There’s no break in procedure for brushless motors. Only brushed motors and engines have break in procedures

add grease to fiffs they are never full on it .i use bearing grease moly or red n tacky lucas and thin it with top self motor oil if needed

Yeah it's an old hero 3 that i bought like 10yrs ago XD still works better than a new chinesium 4k knock off go pro that i got.

There were 2 shops and 2 tracks years ago, and a random boba shop that sells random rc stuff. The 2 shops that i knew of dont really function anymore they dont have anything new or useful. I just order every thing.the The tracks no longer exist. There are no rc, skate, or bmx tracks, just dirtbike tracks and a drag strip. Some people might have private tracks, but they never shared that location when i asked. I drive at random spots that i find.

Why don't you like Lipo's? I was Scared of them too but i got myself an ammo box to store them so i can sleep easy at night lol. i believe you could run NIHM Batteries but you will have limited performance and options

Yeah the Bigrock is badass. I think that this car is just too heavy for the electronics i have or the pinion is just too small. Won't be slow for too long though :)
You can use ic5 and ec5 on xt90
Aaah okay i just put xt90 on all the batteries. If i do use ic5 and ec5 on the xt90 does if have issues coming lose?
