“Daddy Issues” is an understatement. This stand-up/confessional solo show, explores a young woman fearful of becoming everything she had once knew from her white-trash, animalistic family back home. Vincent sifts through each memory and trait in attempt to reject her “monkey-like” qualities, but learns the inevitable.
“Birds, for me, are mediators between heaven and earth. Once upon a time, when women were birds, there was the simple understanding that to sing at dawn and to sing at dusk was to heal the world through joy. The birds still remember what we have forgotten: that the world is meant to be celebrated.” - Terry Tempest Williams
*Trigger Warning: This content talks about SA & Childhood Abuse
Dedicated to all the SA Survivors: released during April Sexual Assault Awareness Month 2024.
Kylie Vincent is a stand-up and solo artist that tours all around the world with her five star rated shows, with reviewers calling her work, "Dark, edgy, and hilarious." Kylie's highly anticipated breakthrough set on Comedy Central has been viewed over 90k times and has opened on the road for Chris Gethard and Hannah Berner. "Kylie Vincent is someone to watch and the world will be hearing more from her in years to come." Kylie tours with her disabled dog and wants you to know that she was already broken when she got her.

THANK YOU’S-
I built out my SUV and travelled the country, performing Bird in over 10 different cities. I couldn’t have done without the help of everyone in my life and the people I met along the way. To everyone’s shower, bed, kitchen, and couch I used - one day when I’m filthy rich I will buy you something of value, like a chicken (because they make eggs, it’s very plentiful).
Thank you to Will Foskey, Tamar Rubin, Orion Levine, Kylie Kelleher, Eric Osovsky, Ali Waller, Andrea Allen, Tasja Drahveen, Savannah Mcmenemy, Emir O’hara, Jamie Wolf, Brooke Finegold, Lucas Zelnick, Miranda Meadows, JP Puthenveetil, and Skye Horgan. You’ve all had significant impacts on my journey, I love you guys.
To Barbara Pitts McAdams for having big dreams for this show and supporting me.
Thank you to The Cultch for having me and empowering femme artists. Bird is also available to stream on The Cultch Replay, along with other great artists’ shows. I felt so grateful to do my show in Canada (who is famously known for having nice people).
Thank you to all of Bird’s audience member’s and all the survivor’s that have resonated with this show.
Last, but certainly not least, thank you so much to Mollie Berg. Not only is she the best person in the world, but the best at her job. Thank you for believing me, uplifting me, and doing everything you do, I am the luckiest to have you!

A double treat for my Monday, first WHGS and then Bird - Thank You!!
Thank YOU❤️
"Maybe I am a trainwreck, but trainwrecks don't just happen,". Thank you so much for sharing your story ❤❤
Thank you for watching and resonating❤️
Here from WHGS as well! I'm a survivor too and I've been having a hard time lately. This is so funny, so empowering, and I'm infinitely grateful for your art. Whether it's dark like the jokes on WHGS or optimistic like this, you always make me feel seen. Maybe I'll be okay after all. :) That was really good.
😭 crying in the club you will be okay we got this bb thanks for watching !!!!!
So glad this was mentioned on WHGS!
You are so very talented & thank you for this. Wonderful piece of art here. 🖤
Thank YOU❤️❤️❤️
i feel so much less alone. thank you so much for sharing this beautiful thing
I feel less alone because of you too, thank you for watching❤️
As a survivor I resonate so deeply with this. This was an amazing show, thank you.
Thank you for healing here !!❤️
this is the perfect blend of funny and inspiring and hopeful my god 10/10. the black and white parts sounded SO much like the reeling that goes on in my head when i try talking with my bestfriend about my dad and the childhood SA. Thank you for making this
You’re amazing thank you for being here ❤️
This was absolutely beautiful ART. I'm in awe of you Kylie, congratulations! You managed to balance laughter and sadness in such a masterful way
Thank you so much❤️
Always loved watching you on WHGS and came straight here from the last episode :)
Sending all of my love to you, you bloody wonderful human!! >:0
I cannot express how much I appreciate your art, this will always have a special place in my heart my guy.
I hope you look after yourself and continue doing what brings you peace and happiness! Love from a younger queer sister 🇦🇺 xx
edit: I'm rewatching this and holy shit the black and white parts are hitting me so hard. It sounds like how my brain sounds at peak anxiety- like encapsulating almost _exactly_ how I feel when I get that deep seated dread of "shit I'm talking too much but when I stop speaking no one else says anything and the silence is deafening but I hate the sound of my own voice someone make me stop" because I have so many thoughts racing through my head I'm trying to organise them to make them more palatable for other people. I'm not sure if that was an intentional effect (I know it probably was mainly to seperate the main metaphor from the tying lines of narration) but either way, brilliant artistic choice holy fuck
EXACTLY thank you so much for getting it and watching ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Kylie, you might not get the recognition this deserves right now, but I want you to know that it's extremely important that this exists. It's beautiful and it's powerful. Keep doing what you're doing. It's finding the right people.
Woo! Thank u ❤️
Heck yeah Kylie, you knocked it out of the park. I was introduced to your art through WHGS and you have completely changed my mind about how this topic can be spoken about through comedy, because of the way that you do it. Lay those traintracks where you wanna go. The gorilla can choke on your banana peel. 💚💚💚
HAJA thank you for being here ❤️

I only realised after the video was already over that the birds chirping hopefully in the background towards the end were indeed real. They're still chirping. Apparently this is the point where I cry.
Thank you for being here ❤️
I’ve just now gotten around to watching this but it was absolutely beautiful, thank you for making this and making me feel less alone.

this was a great special, I really loved the shift from color to b&w when you would get more serious. you are very strong. My sister and I met you yesterday after Ashley Gavin's show in New York. My sister showed me your insta bio and I saw you had a special called bird. I love birds, and I really like how you mentioned the woodcock, their dance is so funny.

"There was this danger in my most comfortable places of everyday life..." Wow. Just hits so hard. Thank you so much for sharing all of this. This was inspiring, relatable, comforting, and well-written/spoken. Theres so many similarities between our experiences, and I'm sadly realizing that isnt rare. I just really loved this. Keep creating, I hope to see more from you. ❤
Edit: like really, I'm still watching and it's just incredible how you describe childhood trauma and how it affects a person growing up and even years into adulthood. Ive never felt so seen or understood. ❤️🩹
@@chloerene7858 this is exactly why I put bird out here. There’s not enough content for us, yet there are so many of us that unfortunately experience this thank you for watching and I am so glad it meant something to you ❤️
This was done so beautifully!!! It felt like my really funny friend was giving me hug and telling me that I'm not alone.

🎉🎉🎉 What a beautiful, emotional roller coaster. Hilarious, sad, and everything in between. DONE SO WELL! Plus I love a good metaphor😊

I had watched this before it was on TH-cam and didn't again because I thought I couldn't rewatch it and it turns out I could. It is still brilliant and unique and vulnerable and challenging and also somehow easy.

Here from WHGS, commenting for algorithm. I can’t relate to your story, and this might be random but the way you speak and perform reminds me of how good it felt to monologue in drama class. I hope it feels that good for you to make this beautiful piece of art!
Thank you so much!❤️
this is such a great performance, truly 🫶🏼
Thank you for watching 🥹❤️
