Asset Management is my true passion, and the Financial Edge course will certainly fill the gap of a specific asset management course that didn’t exist at uni!
I’m currently interning for an Alternative Capital Markets Role for a big financial institution. But will like to pivot into an asset management role as an analyst, so I believe this course will be of great help for helping with my transition!!

Great video Afzal Hussein. Last November, I graduated from University of the West Indies, Mona Campus with BSc in Economics and Statistics. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to get internships because I had to travel to the US on the J1 program to put myself through school. Now I have an internship at one of the largest Investment company in Jamaica where I got some small exposure to asset management and ever since I’ve wanted to make the switch and focus on asset management. I know I’m young (23) and have time but I want to put myself in the best position possible to achieve this. This course will greatly assist me in breaking into the asset management and developing a career in the field.

No one trusts a new portfolio manager and in becoming one it takes many years. Instead focus on distributions of what products these AMC provide (mutual funds etc ) to different people and take commissions on that ( its usually .5 to 1% of the investment you bring to them ), because in the end banks and AMC have enough talent what they need is customers and when you have enough customers u can start your own AMC by hiring these professionals.

Do you need the CFA to work on asset management? Or is it possible to work in asset management without one

Hey Afsal, I've followed you for a long time now and I'm 22 doing my MBA, I've always wanted to do CFA and become a portfolio manager in either mutual or hedge funds but I've recently stumbled upon an even more lucrative career that is a "Quant trader or Quant researcher or Quant Developer". Apparently it pays handsomely . I wanna see your take on this my man

at some hedge funds quant traders are portfoio managers. Typically, PM will earn more than researchers and developers due to more risk taken and being a top of the hericacy (equally if you make a mistake as a PM you can fired quickly too). In hedge funds you will have the lead PM/Trader -> Researcher/Developer

    Dear Sir,
I liked your video and subscribed your channel and followed both. I am a Sophomore in a target grad school in India(target from Indian standard) and after Watching your video on asset management started to interest me as it would be the best job for me and my personality I would love building client relationships and I am not interested in sales and trading, IB sounds way to hard, I don't like researching the markets that much also been thing about pursuing the CFA in my last year and pay for the CFA by working part time. It would be the Perfect course for me to upskill myself. I would do anything coming from a lower middle class family and it would really help me in my career goals.
Thank you for time and consideration for reading my message.
