    This is good basic info. We got on a few big legitimate playlists and it skyrocketed our Spotify numbers compared to any other thing we did for PR or marketing. Playlisting and running ads has been the only thing that moves the needle. But they’re right, it needs to be a QUALITY track. Even then, it’s still an uphill battle. The secret is really getting a good spot on big, legitimate playlists. Contacting playlisters on your own unsolicited really doesn’t work, and that’s what sucks. The big legit playlists have rapport with these services and only then will they give the track the time of day when they flex that connection.

      How did you get on those big playlists

    I see some artists that get 25,000 or more plays on their youtube videos with zero comments or 10,000 or more Spotify streams yet have little to zero social media presence or online fans and I just can't understand how they get those numbers. I have the opposite, I have tons of support and my social media is buzzing like never before, it takes a lot of my time just to navigate it everyday but I'm lucky to get 1,000 youtube plays on a video or a few hundred plays on Spotify. I don't understand how that works.

      they pay for streams, the numbers look bigger so people naturally get more drawn to it (a herd effect kinda), you're doing better than they are though.

      For youtube a lot of people do youtube ads, views but almost no engagement.

    Hey Maddy
    Just to let you know we still keep in tune with your updates, keep up the good work!
    Funnily enough we 100% fall into the bracket of one of those artists that couldn't maintain a solid Monthly number after a editorial (New Music Friday)

    Just a quick question, starting out as an artist, and having a plan to release a track so often, how often should I be releasing a track & how long should I be promoting it for, I was thinking like, every 3 to 4 months, not really sure

    • @Burstimo
      @Burstimo  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Depends on how much you can make. Preferably every few months as then you can promote each release effectively but still keep giving new material to your fans

    It helps a lot also if u are a hot chick and already known. Even garbage tracks of yours will end up high in spotify editorial playlists. Currently, the garbage track Ayana from pretty pink is at the top of the electronic rising playlist. Seriously?

    Saves and engagment are incredibly low on playlists. Not only that, the streams are counter productive becuass the engagmsnt is so low that it gives bad info to spotify. Streams are playlist streams, not people who want to stream your song, and its NOT because of your song quality.
    B Sides and Demos can blow up. Make the best music possible and dont let numbers influence how you perceive your music. A true artist makes music for himself🤍
