I’ve been lurking on labyrinth videos awhile now, but this is the first one I’ve watched where I actually feel like understand how the heck it works. Excellent work as always my friend!
Awesome rundown! I’ve been waiting for your video since some of the others started coming out recently. Really stoked to see how this integrates with the DFAM/M32/SubH!
Awesome stuff as usual. Congrats on the new acquisition. Looks like a very interesting addition to play with. Will start planning for a second stack :)
Mine came today I don't have a clue how I but I created an amazing Patch. Unfortunately I was not set up to record it. I will never get it back. This may be my favourite Moog.
Thank you for the exploration! I think this synth deserves more love, cannot get all the hate it gets. It is of course sad the price is that high, but to be fair this is an interesting and quite different machine than what we usually see with the current synth releases.
Agreed to the comment about it being a bit more interesting and cooler than alot of synths . As far as price, I know what you mean but : 1- typical moog price &........... 2- give behringher time, they will clone it in no time for hundreds less. 😉
Really great demo, thanks. How does buffer save and recall work when you’ve got the corrupt knob raised? Does it just save the current fleeting sequence at that moment, and then recall it as saved before instantaneously changing again?
I’m on the fence about this one. I really like everything here EXCEPT that you can only store a single sequence. I think I would get frustrated by that really quickly. If they would let you store a few more - 8 would be nice - I would have probably ordered it by now.
One could argue that all of these instruments are expensive bleep machines! :) it's a random source generator with some additional functionality. I still haven't had a chance to fully dig in yet. I suspect it's better paired with other Synths.
One thing I didn't know was that the output is mono? Maybe that's my lack of knowledge of this genre of synth? The manual says to hook up an instrument/guitar TS cable, and that using a TRS cable will create a low output signal. If you plug in headphones it basically duplicates the mono signal into both ears. I'm thinking you could take a mono splitter and use that to send the mono signal to LR inputs of some pedals/effects such as the Microcosm or Meraki stereo delay to create a stereo separation after the effects? I'm going to try it this weekend and see if it works.
@@aeropilot4419 the mono splitter didn’t work. Turns out the 3 pedals I have will take a mono input just fine and output stereo. I’m using the Erica Synths Matrix Mixer, so I can go into any of them first, and it will come out stereo if that pedal into any other pedal or out stereo to the interface. I was overcomplicating it in my head.
Cool stuff! I've been looking forward to this release. This release seems like it was kept about the same as the early leaked notes and from Moogfest. I know it's early, but does this fit well with the Sound Studio trio? Also, I know they are totally different, but do you have a preference between the Spectravox and the Labyrinth yet? Thanks for the video and demos!
Labyrinth and Spectravox are just two totally different animals. Hard to compare them. For me personally, I think I like the Labyrinth better. If I had to choose one - that would be the one.
@@braintree56 excellent! Thanks, man! Is that your plan? Are you keeping both the Spectravox and Labyrinth? The changes on the Spectravox from the original I saw threw me off. However, I will say that it seems to play nicely with the DFAM. Yet, if I was choosing one I thought the Labyrinth would be the better choice to pair with the Mother-32, DFAM, and Subharmonicon. I'm sure it's not necessary, but it seems to open it up more. Especially with my utilities eurorack case. I thought the idea of the variable state filter was a nice change from the amazing Moog ladder filter. However, I'm not sure how much I liked it when listening to your demo. It's not as "perfect" sounding. I noticed the resonance was strange too. I do like the variation though.

Yeah, he’s made it sound like a broken out of control Casio.
Thanks! Really appreciate the compliment.
I was just about to leave the same comment. You really made it more understandable…

Thanks. I'll definitely have to put out a few videos.

Sounds really interesting and mine arrives today. Can't wait to have a go thank you for the demo/overview.
Listening to your album “Dark” right now. Just came here to say so. That is all. Carry on.
Awesome! I really appreciate the support! Did you like the album?
@@braintree56 oh I sure did! It was a re- listen actually. It’s found a home in my permanent Apple Music collection

It's pretty fun!
Very nice demo👍
Thank you 👍
Thanks for the video. Can‘t wait to see hmmmm hear how patch it with the other boxes of the eco system
Yeah, I'm going to have to do some reconfiguring in my case. :)

#2. Nooooooooooo !😢
Sounds great, but I feel I can easily get the same sounds w my dfams and a few extra modules.
A Series like the other 3 Dfam / Morher / Subh. Please❤
Pretty cool jam around 18:18

I believe that's what happens... Or at least it seems that way.

Love this Moog. Great video BTW. I wonder if swing can be applied.
Thanks. It doesn't appear that you can apply swing unless having it controlled externally...
Those Moog patches really didn’t t sell the module.
Spot on there. Very meh.
So it's really just an expensive beep machine? Is that all it does?

@@braintree56 strangely it fascinates me - helped by your video but I think I'm unlikely to ever buy one.

Sending through a Mimeophon would work too !👍🏼👏🏼

Is the sequencer independent ?
If so Could probably mix this cv
with vc mix on mother and morph between mother sequence and labyrinth

Yes it would fit nicely within the Sound Studio Eco system. Having a nice evolving randomized sequencer is pretty cool!

Yep!
Thanks for explaining this, very useful! The only con is that you play the same shitty sequence over and over hahaha no offense thought 😂😂😂
