I had a 750 Kat in the UK.....I had a few mods done to it, nothing crazy....Dyno,d at 90 bhp at the rear tyre.....but it felt way more and would play with most sports bikes with out issues. The brakes,simple but affective.....handled lovely on sports rubber.......comfy too.......I'd have another any day
yea ive got mine stripped down no plastics running a straight pipe sh sounds bad as fuck lol. Getting ready to take her across country on Route 66 for my vlog and film a documentary next week pretty stoked!
I would agree with gl 1100 on swapping the engine, but to answer your question: - Bandit 1200 header - 5* ignition advance - Camshafts from a 1988 GSXR 750 (there’s a certain year that’s best, I can’t remember which) - Barnett clutch - Rejet the carbs - Keep the stock airbox - Change the sprockets (down 1 tooth on front and up 2 teeth on rear is popular) - Lower the suspension to make it a harder to wheelie so you can launch harder Katriders is a good forum for info Was running 12.60’s stock and after I did the above mentioned to my 600 i ran a best of 11.89 in the quarter. Ive always had love for the Katana they aren't the best looking of bikes but they are Hella comfortable

What mods did you have on it? I got one as a first bike last April I want to upgrade but I’m attached to it now I want to make it faster if possible
I would go for a 750 or even swap a bandit 1200 engine before modding for power.

I’m not sure what would be involved in a bandit 1200 swap. You can try the katriders dotcom website. Lots of good info there
@@Jimmy-mt6ze very very simple (for someone comfortable with larger jobs) as is the previous gen gsxr 750 which was still air cooled.
