The Beast Within isn't a mistake because you didn't know that Roil Elemental was coming, and Seedborn Muse is as much "kill on sight" as Roil Elemental.
Yeah I kinda agree. I might have held up the Beast Within to see what Gow might do and respond to that but yeah without knowing that a Roil Elemental was incoming, it's tough to say in the moment that taking the Seedborn Muse out was a bad call.
I'm a bit confused looking at "Gow" Decklist Adrix & Nev, the precon comes with fractal counter theme which are nice but contradicts the token theme on Adrix & Nev. His decklist is a mix of both but not synergistic at all imho. As an example that's why at 11:14 he only draws 1 card with Inspiring Call.
@@RandomCommenter955 Yes, since Adrix and Nev says "If one or more tokens would be created under your control, twice that many of those tokens are created instead." It doesn't say "If YOU create one or more tokens"; the Beast Within token would have been made under his control, so he should have gotten 2 of them.
I've been looking for Yarok edh gameplay. Finally came across this. I've been watching this channel for so long and just realized I'm not subscribed! Done. Excellent content man!
While killing the Muse tends to be the right call, you'd need to ask yourself what they could do with all that mana on other people's turns anyway. Without a mana sink or full grip of cards that can be played at instant speed, sometimes it's ok to let other people find a way to deal with the threat too.
I'm always so torn. There could be all kinds of information that I don't know about with the cards in his hand, and even some big draw spell at the end of someone else's turn could have been the gas he might need to take off. It was definitely a bit impulsive, but still not 100% sure one way or another if it was right or wrong.
Well this was a weird game. First of all did no one think to attack the planeswalker at all!? And why did the token deck not produce a single token and only two cards that could? Only one of the commanders in this game actually did anything at all for their player this game.
I was curious why Adrix and Nev didn't play a single token or copy spell. They did make one token, but that was because their Seedborne Muse was Beast Within'd, and even then they forgot to make 2 beast tokens instead of 1!
Adrix and Nev are so much more powerful that I first gave them credit for! The other day I had an opponent who made 88 saprolings thanks to them and doubling season 😆
Burgeoning does not trigger when someone fetches a land with a spell or fetchland. It is looking for opponents to take the Special Action "Play a Land." Putting a land onto the battlefield with another effect is not "Playing a Land."
I've been waiting for a good showcase of Tatyova (which you've spelled wrong in the title BTW), and this does the trick. ESPECIALLY after such a slow start.
The funny thing is that they didn't even need a board wipe: a single-target removal spell would've sufficed, as Roil Elemental's control ends once it leaves.
The classic reason I target landfall decks. Not the strongest, but one of the most unfun. Could have played a whole game in the time it takes them to search for lands
Nile really saw this landfall deck get out of control and knew it was stealing creatures every turn and decided "Yep, this is the time for scute swarm". Although at that point I'm pretty sure that was the only play he had available 🤷♂
Hey Andrew, I’m going to turn my Otrimi deck into 5c Ramos mutate like yours. Why d you run signets over lane ramp sorceries? I feel like they’re more removable and less reliable. And don’t put counters on ramos, right? You’ve got a bangin land base so I assume you can splurge for the good ramp spells?
Everytime you say sparky it reminds me of that ep of HIMYM where they go on a road trip and listen to Goodbye Sparky, you sound like the narrator voice
More like "Roil Elemental can't be allowed to live"... Niles had one in his Yarok deck as well, and it's twice as dangerous there, as we can see when Sparky stole Yarok.
@@1234573332 ah well. It wouldn't trigger because Burgeoning looks if a land is being played and not if a land enters. Yarok doubles every time a permanent entering the battlefield (no matter where) causes a permanent you control to trigger. So Suture Priest would trigger twice with Yarok and a creature entering under an opponents control. That's why I thought Burgeoning would also double.
Isn't Ramos 5 colors? Sparky wouldn't have been able to block Yarok with Ramos, since Yarok had protection from Black and Red. Not that it matters that much.
This is why I don't play roil elemental in my "Omnath locus of creation" deck. It's honestly no fun having your stuff stolen, but having it done so often with fetchlands/ crucible it feels like most plays are just a waste of time on the other end. All down to playgroup preference but it's something a bit overboard imo XD
Roil Elemental is balanced out by its frailty (3/2 body), lack of protection, color-intensive mana cost and the fact that you need to retain continuous control of it to keep the stolen creatures. Even a targeted bounce effect ends its shenanigans, even if temporarily.
given that this game has 3 etb value commanders in, i predict that none of them will be correctly threat assessed and it'll be a 3 player game between them while Ramos looks sheepish in the corner edit: looks like i'm right about this. I should really not bother watching videos with simic commanders they're so boring and predictable
I'd probably decide to never play against Niles' Yarok deck ever again. I hate that commander and I hate that turns play and the timing of it and ugh >:( Edit on t6: Gow is a real hero.
@@MTGMuddstah Agreed, I never saw this commander in action before, but when I see Golos, Tatyova or Aesi, I use all my resources to take that player down before moving to the next one.

Tapping creatures with vigilance to attack... the most classic MtG misplay ever. :P

Not that it mattered, but when you used Beast Within on the Seedborne Muse, Gow should have created two 3/3 Beasts since his commander was out.
even though his opponent was the one creating a token technically and not himself?

Tatyova is always ... disappointingly good
Lesson from this game is that PUT MORE REMOVAL AND BOARD WIPES IN YOUR DECK! Once Roil Elemental hits the table, the game was all but over.
Said this last time and I’ll say it again. I LOVE your Ramos deck🥳🤩
Definitely didn’t think the game would end the way it did
Thank you for not spoiling anything. You're top comment and top dude.

I had 526 Koma's coils with Second Harvest + Doubling Season + Primal Vigor + Adrix + Adrix again due to Sakashima. GROSS!!!
Whose voice do I read this in, Aleeeex or Maahhrtin?
Agreed. I made 32786 adrix and nev’s the other day. A&N is so much stronger than what this video showed.
*Spoiler alert*
I love how Sparky casted Sunder in the end just for the memes. And it was nice to see him recover from the 2 lands!
Ah yes. The dollar bill, the most powerful card in magic
Gow's nail polish game is on point! Looks fantastic!
i love you
Ngl this game was pretty boring.
What you get with everyone running Blue-Green.🤮
Gow honestly based as hell for protecting the entire table from Torment of Hailfire twice.
read adric and nev again, I believe GOW should have gotten two beast tokens from the beast within.
Was coming on here to say that exact same thing
He does.

Wouldnt the beast within create 2 tokens? He had his commander out. Doubles tokens that come into play under your control.
Missed a fathom mage trigger off the trigon predator.

Two Simic and a sultai commander at the exact same table is incredibly painful to watch.
Do people run Board Wipes anymore? People get huge too fast nowadays.
@@marcocapolli9482 A real shame, I feel Board Wipes have become even more important now, too many value engines.
Depends on deck, but I run about 4 boardwipes on my decks. On my shrines deck I have like 7-8. Animar, 0 since animar is the deck why you boardwipe.

They're all in Simic.
What kind of setup do you guys use? Like how do you keep cameras above your playmats?
