Can we all just talk about how amazing Billie Piper is as an actress, it’s impossible to not cry whilst watching Rose break down and struggle to get her words out

She really impressed me this episode and some of the later performances she gave

Interesting thing to note, Rose and the Doctor being trapped on opposite sides of a wall was foreshadowed back in Tooth and Claw. When the protagonists are trapped in the library, the Doctor and the werewolf both listen on opposite sides of the wall, in pretty much the same pose as in this episode. Rose is the "Bad Wolf."

I wouldn't say that's foreshadowing as it doesn't have any contextual link or hint towards the Doctor and Rose being separated. It's just the same shot. Foreshadowing is an indication or warning to a future event but the camera positioning in tooth and claw is simply to show how close the Doctor was to the werewolf and how a mere door was separating them as opposed to hinting at the fate of Rose in Doomsday. Maybe it was a planned out idea by the directors and RTD but it's too subtle and detached from the actual thing it would be supposed to be foreshadowing for it to be considered an effective usage of it. If in tooth and claw we had Rose and the Doctor separated in that same position then I would say it's clear foreshadowing but the fact it's with the werewolf makes it feel more like a coincidence in direction and cinematography than an attempt at foreshadowing. Still a cool spot though, I never noticed the similarity either xD

The episode that made me cry the most of Rings of Akhaten. That speech gets me every time I hear it, especially the music. Out of the 100s of times I've seen it I cry every time

They got the cybermen to work with them because cybermen needs humans to upgrade but the daleks are killing them so the cybermen has no humans to convert. That’s why they were working together against the daleks

I think it also adds to the emotion that billie and david became really good friends and were super sad to part ways, the behind the scenes stuff is so emotional with them

Rose will always be my favorite
Rose was the best of the NuWho companions, put it that way if you want. (Though having grown up with Tom Baker and onwards, I still put her in first place). Close behind in numbers two and three are Donna and Wilfrid. And I think Donna may only be ahead due to sheer amount of screentime compared to Wilf.
Sarah Jane is the only companion who Old Who fans and Nu Who fans grew up with because of the Sarah Jane Adventures

@@Lasherluke ~ Donna would have done the exact same thing, given the near-impossible choice. She had already resolved to spend the rest of her life in the TARDIS with the Doctor, already effectively leaving HER family behind forever. And Wilfrid would have given her the push to do so.

There are a whole generation of British people now in their mid 20s for whom getting fucked up by Doomsday was a childhood rite of passage. It pretty much wrecked everybody when it came out!

With the presence of the Daleks, the Cybermen formed a temporary alliance with the humans but that does not stop the Cybermen from converting humans into Cybermen.
Daleks far surpass the cyberman dude. You should know this by now. They were at war the the freaking TIMELORDS
Yeah but he didn’t see cybermen at war with time lords because it never happened. Cybermen haven’t met timelords after all the daleks did destroy galifrey ;) . So he didn’t know if the cybermen could destroy time lords because we never had a galifrey vs cybermen battle. Also failwhale doesn’t know how strong timelords can get because he doesn’t know most of their technology.
