    Major correction can be done through adding private sector to distribute electricity and investing in industry and firms to use this marginal electricity.

    which world do these guys live in? "government sends a signal" and the market responds" nad "the consumer is smart enough to make capital decisions".. where there is no credit or prohibitively expensive.. look at policy making in Indonesia, Malaysia, India even Bangladesh or China in the 1980's - in nearly ALL cases economic development was led by the Government..

    You are talking a lot of sense, but when there is a corruption and people have no trust in institutions then things are not at all good. We have put corrupt and inefficient people on all important positions. (Sada banda)

    Uzair if you are reading comments, how much solar system costs you after federal and state subsidies. Also what you do when the sun stops shining

    • @uyounus1988
      @uyounus1988 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Cost is about $15k all in after subsidies. Financed via credit union at 6%.
      And the $20 we pay to Pepco is our utility connection so at night we use utility for power. Goal is to install batteries once they get a bit cheaper.

      @@uyounus1988 cost is not bad but the 6% interest eats into the energy saving. I watch your pakistonomy podcast. If possible can you do a program on the reality of so called green energy myth. See if you can find persons like Michael shellenberger

    Stability and law & order are two very fundamental issues with the economy of Pakistan. Policies change on personal whim and on top of that there is an abysmal security situation due to which personal rights are not guaranteed. This makes it not worthwhile for a new investor be it local or foreign to enter the market.

    The very basic fault is not even mentioned.......with China's collaboration pak entered in to power producing pact at exorbitant rate......with warranty to consume more energy than required and govt guaranteed the payments!!!!!
    Joke is that Pak producing more electricity but people can't buy at that price....thus consumption is reduced and govt os paying for extra electricity which is not produced!!!! Thus making electricity more expensive!!!!
    Now renewable energy can not be encourage since consumption from power plants will further go done and govt will have to pay more for under utilization!!!!!!
    Most corrupt system in the world...
