    9:22 REALLY loved your comment about being unable to stand trite advice/comments, etc. I’m very sensitive to toxic positivity. Get outta here with your Good Vibes Only. 😂 Currently such an unhealthy 1w9 sx/sp that I mistyped as a 4. Finally figured it out but was looking for more explanation how the lines in health work between them because I was in my early 40s before I had any clue I’m creative. That’s also when I started melting down and gave up a lot of my usual “standards”. Coincidence? I think not.

    I think the hardest part of my relationships with 1s as a 4 is that I don’t feel like they actually ever understand me but instead assume or judge too quickly that I am “insert whatever scary not safe ideology they disagree with”. So then I feel unsafe because they obviously are seeing me as an object that can be judged and not as a human that deserves grace over time as I consider and change my views based on people’s arguments and persuasions or am allowed to not change based on my own self identifications and loves that make me, me.

    • @drewnewkirk
      @drewnewkirk  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Totally understand that. But, that me frame this differently for a second. Imagine a bit healthier 1, yes a tad judgmental at times but just generally not overly interested in the uniqueness of you. This 1 can provide us a great positive constraint as we find security in who we are regardless of what others think. Ultimately you’ll have to feel safe enough with people because you believe in yourself and a 1 can be good at not indulging our emotions and need to be seen - thus allowing us to rely on our own security and strength of self. Anyway, long is the journey to health and security. I’m on the path with you

    Hey Drew! You said exactly where in at in my journey. I seem to be in a constant battle of logical thinking and spiritual feeling of how to achieve my goals, and its left me in a "paralyzing point", but I'm continuing to watch your videos on 4s and continuing to learn more!

      Keep grinding Chris. This video was great to do as that ability to blend these two numbers is crucial for both types. Glad you got something out of it 🙌🏼

    The best talk ever on the Inner Critic. My friends are always telling me to “get out of my head” and my husband was always telling me “Don’t make room in your head for that (negative) stuff and don’t take things personally. I also find it hard to relax. Learning to “let go” is difficult but your talks integrating the enneagram with your wisdom have lifted my spirits. Having hit a Plateau of sorts, I especially appreciate the advice to integrate a bit of 7. As Nina Gordon says in Tonight and the Rest of My Life, “heavy wings can’t fly.” You hit everything spot on and some words, like grandiose really hit home; definitely to be mindful when it arises. Lastly, thanks for sharing Switzerland with us. Absolutely stunning. Enjoy!

    Really enjoying your videos! I’ve usually typed as a 4w5 but at times I wonder if I’m a 1 who has never accepted it and is really just a “wanna-be 4”. I’ve known a lot of 1s personally that I enjoy being around. However, with that said, I have at times had occasional frustrations with certain 1 qualities and I’m not sure if I am in denial of those qualities in myself or if I really am a 4 and feeling the frustration because of the natural differences between these two types that must be bridged. I’d love to hear your thoughts on this!

    Why are 1s considered more in harmony when they lean into their 1s but less healthy when they lean into their 4s and why are 4s considered more healthy as they lean into 1s and less healthy when they lean into 4. Are we attributing certain numbered personality types to be inherently less healthy?

    Drew what is sx instinct for you have been i think i never met or felt i met any 4s in my life , like what is the vibe , im a self persevere 4

    • @drewnewkirk
      @drewnewkirk  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’d watch the video I did on the sexual 4’s and the video I just put out on the 8’s and 4’s comparisons, I try to come from the SX perspective on that video as well. Also, it’s good to watch those videos so you can integrate the SX part in to your system. We should always be investigating all 3 subtypes to be balanced
