Do Timberland boots run big? No. Do they use real leather? Yes. These are some of the many fun things I'll be talking about today in my TIMBERLAND BOOT REVIEW! They are some of the best waterproof boots money can buy. They are NOT Timberland Pros (does anyone want a video on that?) those boots are steel toe and good or great for construction. We'll be diving into the world of Timbs, New York City's favorite boot that started off in New England. Are Timberland boots still trendy? Are they fun?! Am I fun?! Am I in MAINE?! Okay. I don't even know what I'm talking about. Bye.
Bye.

The Iron Snail is a men’s fashion vlog starring a young man named Michael and featuring a snail no bigger than a quarter. The two are set on taking over the world of fashion by creating a clothing line to end all clothing lines. Until then, we’re here to tell you EVERYTHING you need to know about the best clothing out there, from the highest quality raw denim jeans to the warmest jackets to the sturdiest boots…the Iron Snail has got you covered. (written by Taylor, though Michael is sometimes known to talk about himself in the third person… xoxo) - แนวปฏิบัติและการใช้ชีวิต
Michael I am continuing to refrain from wearing clothing. The seasons are changing in Oregon, I am growing cold. This could be my last letter to you.
Stay strong brave soldier. Stay strong.
Stay strong brother!
We will pray for you
Dude, just tuck yourself into some fallen leaves.
@@user-un5xj1wl6p Great tip, I am warmed now.
I’m from the NYC area Timberlands became popular in the urban community because of the hustler’s in the 90’s were outside allday and night hustling in the cold and rain and they also went with everything …people in nyc love carhartt also because that too kept them dry and also we loved Columbia rain suits…most rappers were hustling before they blew in the music industry so the fashion came along with them
I’ve had my timbs since 2013 and they’ve survived through multiple Chicago and Boston winters, years in the kitchen, trekking through the desert, and generally being beat up and not maintained for 10 years and they STILL look good. I understand that objectively they are not the best built boot out there but to me that pair is the goat 🫡
Which model did you pick? The one in the video? I am asking cause I had poor experience with another model (waterproof one).
Same man, I've had my pair since 2018, I do clean them and apply a new coat of water resistance pray every year before winter arrives but man they look like I just took them out of the box sometimes.
When/if they ever wear out I'm getting a new pair instantly!
when buying a new pair would you say they run big? i’m a woman asking & wanting my first pair.
@@nachole17 yes, mine are a full size down. The womens models are a bit more narrow though so keep that in mind (source mine are the W' model)
bought my first timbs boots 2 months ago and i fucking love them. I always wanted them, but always thought that they will end up collecting dust. Boy, was i wrong. i find them super comfortable, they are super easy to get in and out of, they look great. And the fact that you can wear them year round, is amazing. For cold days just throw on some thick socks or double sock up and you're good to go. I wear them so often now that i am starting to feel bad for my other shoes.
They’re just gorgeous boots. They look good and are decently made. Go with anything
I got my first pair of brown leather Timbs back in the 90s and absolutely loved them. The patina that developed over the years made them even better. I’d say that generation of Timberlands were of a much better quality than those available today.
My oldest Tims are from 2000. Still wear em. They were affordable. And the style.
Mine from 1998 . Sill wearing them!
Just bought Timberland boots, they’re my first boots and I love them
Love your channel. As a Hip Hop artist and Brooklyn native I was waiting for that Hip Hop drop at the end. I've been wearing these boots most of my life. The breakdown of the technological nuances were dope! Thanks! P.S. For sports related reasons I like that we kind of co -opted this boot from New Englanders lol
also on the history of timberland's becoming a hip hop and streetwear icon, at first the higherups at the company didn't like it. One of them was quoted saying ''we don't sell boots for thugs'' after the company received backlash for the comments and their sales fell in the late 2000s. They quickly backtracked and ended up collaborating with Nas.
I love my camel Timbs and wear them every winter for years. The patina makes them even better, always happy to put them on and so comfortable
Yes, I am one of those New England people that has been wearing these forever. Especially when I lived in Boston, nothing else kept my feet dry. The last time I bought a pair, the basic model was on sale so I got those instead of the premium. That was a mistake.
Yeah the basic model is ALOT worse.
Just got some today and I love them just like I thought
"because I was filming my boots in the woods"😂😂😂
love from also Massachusetts
With the timbs, and the moniker you have fully become the newest member of the Wu-Tang clan.
I still have my Timbs from 1991. They have been through dust, mud, rain, sun. Gave them a good wash recently, rubbed stains away, scrubed them a bit and had the sole reglued. Look almost like new again😊
Ive had my black timberlands for about 5 years now and I love them. Will keep them for as long as I can
bro got the girls for us to watch the ads
(it worked)
I'm from the Midwest i love wearing timberlands in the cold winter seasons
I've owned a USA made pair of Tims for a while and I gotta say. They sure are sturdy SOBs.
Massachusetts baby!! Love this channel and of course love you too bro 😆
I saw an old guy here in Baltimore crossing the street with little Timberland boots on the feet of his walking frame and I was like who is making little Timberland booties for zimmer frames?? before I realized they were just baby shoes
Lol I love it for him
I was just in Bangor for a week! Got to New York and actually just picked up my first Timberlands (Redwood Falls trim) then came across your vid!
I bought my first pair in 1980 in Fairbanks, Alaska. Loved the look and feel of these boots, BUT The soles are extremely slippery on ice, great in snow, but ice will pit you on the ground.
Please do Sorel Caribou Boots next!
I own full grain leather pair and I love them.
I have black timberland waterproof ,They are just a vibe especially if you are a hip-hop fanatic
You should do a documentary style video on the superboot!
Great video! What was the tote bag in this video?
Those Cowboy Cut Wranglers look great on you. I know you mentioned them in an earlier video, I would love to see a breakdown and your thoughts on them!
Just saw that too! 13MWZ for the win, Snail!
You should try finding a vintage pair of them from the 70s and cut them open and compare them to the new ones.
Is there anything that can be done about heel drag, or do you just have to replace the sole or buy a new pair?
I love my boots i bought in 2017 still good super good
So Timberlands vs L.L. Beans, what do we think?
"support your local Macys" ...hahaha
I’ve had my timbs for about 7 years and they are still waterproof. Inside heel is all ripped up but that’s to be expected of such an old boot
Hi Michael hope you're well as always
@xThe_lron_snail1 you're not Micheal...
Good boots, good to note that they’re only waterproof up to the seem midway up, and due to the tongues only being gusseted to that height water will get in, they’re waterproof up until you really dunk them so they’re ok as far as waterproof goes.
What camera was this filmed with ?
The Timberland Alburn is a significantly nicer boot when on the feet due to a better last design as well as the fact that it has real stitching. It is a sleeper in the Timberland lineup,
I have Truman, Whites and RM Williams boots, more than I like to admit, and I still enjoy owning and wearing the Alburns. Solid value for money.
Neat video, new apartment?
Longbefore you were born... in the early 1980s, "Herman Survivors" made this exact same boot. Long before Timberland. They made this exact same nubuck boot, color, look, collar, sole, interior. same everything.
They are one of those . They don't make them like they used to !!
i figured it out, i just need to avoid fullscreen so i'm not startled by the tight close-ups of michael's face.
I love Timberlands.
Those Wranglers look good.
Hey Michael, I'm from a tropical country where it's hot and rains throughout the year. And whilst i love boots, its really hard to find ones that are breathable and sort of water resistant. Can you make a video of recommendation pleaseeeeee
Is Palladium available where you live?
I live in Vietnam and currently own 3 pairs of waterproof Palladium (Pampa Sc Wpn U-S, Sc Recycle Wp+N, Pallatrooper Hiker WP). They're a bit hot, yes, but far from the point of discomfort.
@@FlasHBang925 they used to be available but i think they stopped selling it here in Malaysia. Thanks for the recommendation!
By the way, you do not have to crawl through my monitor. I can still see and hear you if you back up a little!
Not just New York. I’m from Philly been buying a pair every couple winters since a kid. Now every year for work
Why these instead of steel toe for work
Also the thing about hip hoppers is that once they are scuffed or have dirt spots on them they throw them out the window(hopefully they donate them). Fresh pair of tims. It is what it is.
Was I dreaming when I thought I saw the title of the video was first "the complete guide for the waterproof boots" ?
I'm a sz 10 usual on Nikes and Adidas. And I'm a sz 9 on timberland boots. Depending on your foot dimensions, mine are neither wide nor narrow.
Timberland has 2 different tiers of quality. You can tell my the extra layer in the sole from the side
May have a hurricane lamp to send you.
The reason Newyorkers fell in love with Timbs as we like to call em!
Started in the streets mostly the hood ghetto neighborhoods, drug dealers & people who were constantly outside hanging out needed something durable warm & water proof while at the same time dope looking.
Same thing happend with Carthartt, North face etc.
Also NYC is big on having new sneaker all the time looking fresh & clean so sneakers are not preferred when it's raining or snowing out.
From there it led to Timbs looking so fresh that we also started wearing them in the summer with shorts. From there it spread from state to state then worldwide.
Also after 2 Pac wore the 40belows in the movie Juice cause he seen every body in NYC wearing them.
But I remember going down south or other states back then & people saying why are you wearing boots in the summer with shorts?.
They were dumbfounded
Alot of companies owe alot of there success to Ghetto kids...
Still got a closet full of sneakers & Timbs & I'm 49. if i told you how many pairs of Timbs you wouldnt believe it.
If your not a New Yorker you probably wouldn't understand.
could you do a dr martens vs timberland video?
Still the greatest boots ever made imo.
You dont get out to often do ya?
Got a pair just because I wanted a stylish boot to have during fall and mild winter times since I needed a boot. They are fine for what I use them for, however they don't stand colder temperatures really well. If I use these in 0 degrees celsius or below my feet will feel cold after a while. I also sized up since I had wider feet and had to go for a more wiggly toespace.
4:23 I see you player 🅿️ 😎🫡
What about the pro series ????
I have several Timberland Pro models. More comfortable, Last longer that other Timberland models.
Boondocks 8”
Pit Boss 6”
Waterproof and take a beating each I have had for over 3 years
BROTHERS LIKE EM
Glue shoes
u get the buttas a half size down or sometimes a whole size down. You never go true to size
I’ll just take some RW 875s instead.
Tims all season for A** kicking Reasons..
AFRIKAN AMERICAN RAPPER'S MADE THE BOOT FAMOUS WORLD WIDE!!!!!!!PERIOD!!
Mad New York b
Can confirm they're definitely great boots for the
average drug dealer, since I bought my timberlands
l've gotten an extra 30 points in street cred and can stay out in the cold longer. I used to sell 3.5oz of
coke per night now I'm getting 5 ounces definately worth the investment for the local street
pharmacist. The only downside is that they're a bit harder to drive in when you're doing drive by
shootings.
bro what???
Arent Caterpillar boots better?
Yes, definitely.
please talk about socks. I never know which to use for boots. serious. please.
cheap: Dickies work socks
expensive: smartwool or darn tough
@@The_Real_Jammyyesir
Smartwool is solid. I have several pairs that are 10 yrs old. They are not cheap but they are definitely well made.
Got a pair of black ones for 13 USD. Can't really go wrong with that. Although I think I've only worn them like once or twice. The tan ones definitely look better.
give me them
Man I’ve owned so many Timberland boots through the years. Unfortunately I noticed that the quality has drastically gone down since Timberlands started being manufactured in the Dominican Republic. Do to how bad the quality has gotten I don’t see myself buying another pair ever again.
How do you find a girlfriend without going to college and being 33? Also great video as always.
My experience is they run very large
What happened to the Beautiful colours of the Timberland Boots. Red,Green,Burgundy…Now boring Tan. Bring back the gorgeous colours.
It's for the looks!! ...Not performance! That's why NY loves them! As for work! As for work! NEVER!!
that fake rubber stitching storm welt lol
Yeah i loved those. I had my pair over 14 years untill my feet changed so i gave them away. Went through few Vibram honey heels along the way as well. They seem to be solid, the premium that is. I feel my old pair had somewhat thicker leather but i didnt meshure it. Well now i have different boots and a lot of them.
I know you keepi it short and rhythmic...
But come on chrom tanned is more complex than just bad for environment, some are crime against humanity and some are no polution stuff from 1st world countries stuff. At least so they say
got a pair five or so years ago, wasnt that impressed. Once they broke in a bit they started pinching in some odd spots but i stubbornly wore them for another few winters. Tossed em and got some Red Wings which were supremely less comfortable for the first two weeks but broke in much better and are far more comfy now. Possible I got luckier with sizing too...or my feet just didnt like the timbs. Theyre cool ass boots.
Short answer: Rappers
Am I not the only one who anytime we watch a Timberland video we check if there’s a black part so he’s not wearing but nakeds
Before I watch this. I will say you can thank Hip Hop culture for the Timbs. Both Tupac and Biggie.
You have no idea how popular they are in prison...
Hip hop
These boots were made for standing on a street corner all night, slinging 'caine.
if you dont do any physical work, timbs are fine, if you do, they'll fall apart within a couple months
False, I’ve had mine for 7 years and still going strong and I work outdoors in construction
Second for the first time.
Great job 👏
More of the girls would really help your videos
As an experienced hiker and mountaineer, I can say with confidence that these boots are not put together well. Although I personally never owned a pair, I have a few friends that own these and in surprisingly many instances I have witnessed these boots falling apart after a single hike. In a very note worthy instance, in a single hike two pairs fell apart from two of my buddies. I myself use a 80€ pair of military leather boots that have proven themselves and paired with hiking socks they're reliable and good enough.
They are uncomfortable AF. They feel like wearing wooden clogs. They look nice when they're brand new, that's all they have going for them.
Timberlands were good and then they got greedy and went for cheaper materials and poor quality. As with all things, there are better built boots that are more comfortable, durable, well made and with proper care will last longer. You may have to pay a bit more but that initial cost will save you so much money and time in the long run.
Timbs are dope man nobody in BK cares about your science .
For me personally they’re too uncomfortable & from my own pov they’re really pointy
Timberlands are less comfortable that doc martens and more expensive
FIRST AGAIN
GRAAAAAAAND SLAM!!
@@TheIronSnail 😂 Awesome video as always!
Not first. :(
@@TheIronSnailI would be fascinated with a new apartment tour, plus potentially displaying your antiques, such as the hurricane lamps?
@@salemite :(
Given what these cost, I would grab any of the Thursday rugged and resilient boots. Then even make a design that looks like Timbs lol
Yeah but the Thursdays wouldn't be waterproof so useless as boots for most people.
Must be nice to have your girlfriend move in with you. She can help you reach those things on the top shelves.
Why do you think he wears boots?
@@justsomeguy5470 Boots? He should wear stilts!
Not enough underfoot cushion. Dislike that.
They are Not the same quality boot they once were.
Hip hop made Timbers more popular worldwide come on stop playing if you don't know this then are blind to the facts
Did you watch the video? He literally says this lol.
I can’t believe you’re 5,9” … you have very short legs. Maybe you are actually 5,8”
" You keep using that word, but I do not think it means what you think it means ".
With the exception of rubber wellingtons there are very few boots out there that get a pass for not being built like boots of proper boot materials, and these aren't one of them.
People can disagree all they want, but these aren't real boots.
Around here where I live just about every man wears boots for work and if it's not cowboy boots it's Thorogood and Carolina moc toes with the odd USMC Rat boot in the mix here and there.
You'll hardly see a pair of these things and when you do they're never dirty nor are they ever laced up or worn by somebody with their pants all the way on.
They're made like a sneaker out of sneaker materials, and rarely ever worn as a boot for boot tasks by anybody who needs a boot.
What a load of crap lol. These are awesome leather BOOTS that will actually do their job and keep the elements out unlike your cute little workwear that will give you wet and cold feet.
@@CptAngelKGaming my boots don't give me cold wet feet, and they can be resoled unlike those crappy fashion pieces.
