Your explanation of "Red Support" was spot on. Great mechanic.

Rules are updated to 2.0, I think its cleaned up and more understandable

I know this was a few years ago, but this is a great primer for me - appreciate it WAR.

Very nice video indeed. Having gone through the same process as you, I realized a couple of things. Note that in this particular game the USA & Italian AV units cannot enter Support mode (BbF 1.6). and also that there is a game specific rule that forbids taking objective hexes without placing an OBJ marker first. Also, I think that the Infantry at Poste Lessouda should have gone under Isolation effects due that it was out of command radius (the Reim HQ was placed in a very forward hex).

Wonderful video, thank you! I just picked this game up in a purchase along with several others and it is shrink wrapped... I am not sure this is my cup of tea as yet....it may be a bit too "rule heavy" for my taste. It would be good to know before I open the box if I am going to sell it off or not. Thanks again for the videos!

Chewie, I have a question. On the first combat of the Tigers clearing the path on the road, should an OBJ marker been placed there? I remember a rule that stated attacks can only be made within 2 hexes of an OBJ marker.

It's a while ago now, and my memory is hazy, but I think I messed up something early on - forgetting the Obj marker, or accidentally placing it too far away. I'm sure I rectified the mistake, but don't rely on this vid for authoritative rules guidance :)

@@chewiematt9727 Apparently, an engagement does not require an OBJ (7.1)

I don't see where the Germans get a game specific +1 on SNAFU

I'm looking forward to getting this but it hasn't hit the UK yet.

Some copies have! I think Second Chance Games on the Wirral have it. I don't know which other outlets are planning to stock it.

second chance games are good but always a bit pricey. I'll wait a few weeks and if no one else stocks it I'll probably pick it up from then anyway.

I bought Baptism by Fire with shipping to the UK for £63.80 from NWS Wargaming Store (yhst-12000246778232.stores.yahoo.net/). This is £22.15 cheaper (or a 25% saving), once the £10 postage fee from Second Chance games is added.

don't the get caught with VAT and an admin fee hen it gets to the UK. that's what stopped me ordering p500 games until the euro vat paid option started.

I've not had a parcel stopped for a couple of years and in that time maybe had a dozen games delivered, even if one was stopped now I would still be way ahead. And unless you're regularly getting games stopped by Customs then I wouldn't use the GMT euro VAT paid service, it works out a lot more expensive if you're picking up a few games from over there.

It's unfortunate how the rules came out since the system is brilliant for this series.

MMP has poor rules examples (or none) in their rule books, making the game much more difficult to figure out.

Rules difficulty are the most inaccurate sign of bad game
