  • Today's episode from Hunder, Ladakh, is truly special, as it recounts our privilege of meeting two remarkable individuals making significant contributions to Ladakh's culinary scene: monk turned chef, Jigmet and hospitality entrepreneur, Stanzin. Their insights provided us with a deeper understanding of Ladakhi cuisine and culture.
Our day began with a visit to Diskit Monastery, the largest and oldest in the Nubra Valley. It offers a breathtaking views of the Shyok Valley. After offering prayers, we connected with Monk Stanzin Dechan, who shared anecdotes about monastery life.
Then, we visited Heritage Kitchen By Ladakhi Chef at Nubra Organic Retreat. After the warm reception we went to the kitchen to witness making of shap shap, a Ladakhi flatbread slightly thicker and coarser than its North Indian counterparts. Rest of the of the food being ready, we sat down at the table near the thap for the meal.
The spread featured two breads-shap shap and khambir, a porridge called marzan porridge, stew called shae spak, congee like dish called dasthuk and a sweet dish, phemar. And of course, no meal was complete without the comforting salted butter tea, cha khante.
Jigmet and Stanzin's super affable nature and profound knowledge of Ladakhi culinary traditions made us feel like old friends. Jigmet's inspiring journey from monk to chef, driven by his passion for serving humanity through food, left a lasting impression. Meanwhile, Stanzin's pioneering efforts to promote Ladakhi hospitality and life experiences too is commendable.
The soulful dishes led to engaging conversations, enriching our understanding of the region's culture and heritage. We are immensely grateful for the warmth, hospitality, and culinary treasures shared by Jigmet and Stanzin.

Anubhab ji main pata nahi aalag se kya likhu? I am speechless or wordless to express my views on your videos. and they are all outstanding, unique and every details and information is mind blowing. but today i wanna appreciate how you protest against wearing wrong type of clothes in religious places or clothing such a way which could insult the culture and worship places.

Very nutritious food was served. The owner shared his experience how he lived in Delhi, when he was studying. Yes, I agree with you he looks like Randhir kapoor. Voice and mannerisms are also similar. Lama turned chef is very humble and he looks like Tiger Shroff. Braid like fried namkeen is somewhat same like Murukku coil like chakli.
    Keep exploring Anubhav ji.

This is why Asia is just so great, look at it all amazing and that’s before you get drawn in by the amazing food.
I wish Nepali restaurants in the UK were not geared towards what we know and had more home style foods. And also there should be more Tibetan and Sherpa foods as it’s all so amazing.
I try and make local places happy by telling them Asian food makes white lives better 😂👍🥰🇳🇵🇬🇧🇮🇳😋😋

Anubhav ji, very nice video, as always!
I have one suggestion regarding the comment about dressing in religious places. I disagree with the comment that you made and find it uncalled for. I have the following reasons to say so,
    1. It is none of your business. Also, did you seek the permission of the woman filmed to demonstrate the context?
    2. If you shall go into the Buddha's philosophy (not Buddhism), clothing is an irrelevant thing in this world. What and how does one wear something does not matter. That is why Buddha got rid of his royal clothing and just adopted something that he found himself comfortable in. It is not about simplicity, it is just about focusing on what matters. FYI, some of Buddha's prominent statues around the wolrd are nude.
So, a more important thing than clothing, in at least a place where Buddha is the focal point, should be about who Buddha was, what made him, and his philosophy. His statues have no value if one doesn't spend time understanding him.

    Fake Mr delhi food walks-
Respected sir your videos are good no doubt. But as a human you are fake sorry to say.
Had asked you few times back good eatries in delhi when you were not so popular.
Your reply was please ask somone else as if you were indirectly asking money.
    Shame on you.
Hope you learn that helping people always has not to be monetary gains attached to it.
God bless you with good thoughts and actions.
Sorry if it hurt just had to tell.

@@nerchung With due respect its not about wish or choice its courtesy.
When you preach to be humble and kind on shows you should practice that too.
But in this media industry these people are only kind and humble till the camera is on.
I have nothing against this or any, I feel these small semi popular celebrities should learn from SHAH RUKH KHAN how to be humble as when I met he makes extra effort to make guests comfortable.
And such people should be exposed. Will release a video of all those slowly but surely.
