My respect and admiration goes to the Old House team because they support children in their carpentry projects, qualities that are lost in today's world. Programs like these are the ones that make your soul happy, thank you.
She made a really nice cutting board, proud of her. Thanks Tom for highlighting this young girl, and her passion for woodworking. This young girl makes me proud of the younger generation.
I am the oldest of 7 grandchildren, all girls. Tommy reminds me of my grandfather. He was always willing to show how to use all his tools as well as letting us use them on projects. In fact, I'm told that he had me using a band saw when I was a toddler. Because of Grampy, I've been able to do small home repair projects.
What amazing youngsters! Beautiful speech and language development combined with advanced social skills. Their parents must be so proud of them. Kudos to their parents for raising such impressive young people.🙂
even simple stuff like the "imaginary line" on the driver and the screw...seems simple but at her age I would've stripping the head of every fastener lol. Tom would be the best teacher for this stuff, but I forget that at his age he's probably trained more people (apprentices or otherwise) than I've met.
Very cool. The patience, attention to detail and just slowing down to do the job right the first time are skills that will take her a long way down the road.
This was fun to watch. Having a good work bench is so essential to making your ideas come to life! Camilla did a great job on this one. Learning basic construction and ending up with the most useful tool in her shop...the bench! Nice work, Camilla! Now be careful of the dreaded clutter that sneaks onto the bench when you're not looking 😅...utilize your tool wall! Can't wait to see what you build next!
Camilla is loving my dream! Doing a project with Tommy. She will be spoiled using Festools. I had the chance to use them on a cabinet project and I still dream about the experience and the tracksaw! I hope this experience and the new work table further inspires creativity and passion of woodworking and construction for this amazing young lady. Wonderful skills to have. So cool.

@Navy1977 it appears that way but it was a cut scene, i doubt if she did, but if so that would be awesome. Wish she had her own tube channel so we could all send her some love, likes, n support 😀
This video feels a little exploitative. I'm the father of 2 daughters and I'm a little confused here. Is this Camilla's workshop or Camilla's and her brother's? It seems like all the work on the birdhouse is being done by her brother. Is this because she's a girl or is there another reason? It seems a little like you're using this young lady for views. I like TOH but this is taking things a little too far. For what it's worth, you would have been better off showcasing only Camilla. She clearly enjoys doing projects.
Exploitive? Tommy taught Camilla how to make a workbench, and then she got to teach her brother how to make a birdhouse. Completely heartwarming episode.
Got me wiping tears from my eyes, over here 🥹 Camilla is one determined young person and little brother Jasper is just as eager to pitch in. What made this so special was Tommy showing so much patience and more of his grandad side showing. What a really cool episode!
Camilla is so inspiring...what a great kid! My 8 year old daughter loves her.
Excellent teaching, need to do more of these. Kids are great. She proves a disability is not a disability, it just means doing things differently.
Thanks for inviting us into your shop Camilla. You're awesome 🤟
By far, the best episode of this Old House.

These kids are polite and well spoken.
Good for you Tommy, to help that child. She looks like she really loves working with wood.
No better teacher than Tommy. Great job Camilla and Jasper!
Camellia, your an inspiration to young adults. Keep learning!
Teamwork! Great job Camilla and Tommy!
Thank you Tommy for helping our future generation. She will go far in the future.
Nice to see another budding woodworker, and learning from a master!
My son and I watched this episode from start to finish.
Too cute. Hope she is on this old House in a few years.
Thanks Camellia and Tom really enjoyed it ❤

I love that he doesn't talk down to them like their just dumb kids. He explains and helps when needed

it's not a board , its a boaaadd 😄
How does Camilla have 20 seasons already??
does she have her own youtube channel?
a Japanese pull saw would make hand sawing much easier, you can see the struggle with a push saw.

“Let me give you a hand.” -Tommy 😂
🥰🪚🪛🔨🏠
Nice to see skills passed down to the youngest generation.
You need a workbench to build a workbench! Where did the first workbench even come from? 🤔
i doubt if he made her carry that downstairs.
@Navy1977 yes it was, tommy said lets get this down the stairs and into the truck, then said grab that side, and she did.
@Navy1977 it appears that way but it was a cut scene, i doubt if she did, but if so that would be awesome. Wish she had her own tube channel so we could all send her some love, likes, n support 😀

15:44 I would have died if the brother came in and was also missing his arm
@Navy1977 She's a tough cookie, she can take it.
@Navy1977 Just to clarify, I would have died inside, NOT died of laughter
Missed opportunity to start the video with her using a table saw with a fake hand and staging an accident lol
@Navy1977 Yes, if you don't, you're too much of a snowflake to be on the internet. Go back to playing Bingo
@poptya You are a sick minded freak!!!
That birdhouse looks kinda crappy

How did she loose part of her arm?
@user-tn2os8ts7h Hey troll, that’s irrelevant and none of your business. Goof.
