    Banished is a city-building strategy game focused on careful resource management and survival as an isolated and growing society
    The player guides citizens of a remote community of outcasts to grow and maintain a settlement through a command economy. The game focuses largely on the citizens of the player's town as individuals. As the designer states in a video, "the townspeople of Banished are your primary resource. They are born, grow older, work, have children of their own and eventually die. Keeping them healthy, happy and well-fed are essential to making your town grow as you have to deal with relentless weather conditions, fires, depression, starvation, an aging population and more.

    It was confirmed by the dev that the crop rotation didn't make it to final release, and that's complete bullshit.

    Nooo, I think it is not true about this low yield after some time, and removing tree plantation after one year when you need to wait a few years to gen any yield? I think that is important to build a field right away, because they sow seeds at spring.

    I have population surges and huge deaths. After year 7 to about year 70. After year 70, it reaches a plateau. Trust me. I had many citizens that had multiple children with multiple spouses. I also had citizens that had no children. You need to accept nomads. Doctors are really not necessary. A small church is better than a big church. The small church is better because people get tired of going to church. It is shown in the game, just watch the building if you don't believe me. Another thing I forgot to mention. You need to put the hunter at the center of the town. The hunter leaves the circle. No lie about the hunter. Also, try going vegan in your town. It is a health miracle! I hope I can give some of my insight into this wonderful game. The sentences above this one are of the heart. Hash tag, America the beautiful.

    Food production is not really complex. You don't need any resource inputs for the facilities. If the hunters and gatherers are too far from houses, then people won't get the food or spend a long time walking to the other barn. Herbalist needs only a small number of trees in its circle, and herb consumption is so low that she will be at the storage limit all the time. You can put it near your town with half of its range as forest. People also have to walk to the herbalist.
    Hunters and gatherers work the best early on. I don't think fishing is usually as good because there might not be a large body of water nearby. Farming requires too much labor. Orchard production really goes down after a few years. The trees get cancer and disappear, and don't yield any timber from their death.

  • @unadvoidable

    Could need a little more specific info on what the most efficient design is for the Hunting, Gatherer and Herbalist. Did you experiment with that? Can you put all 3 in a cluster and what is the most efficient design so you wont get a production penalty on it? Thanks for the Tut :)

    • @0623kaboom
      @0623kaboom 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      axctualy orchards get better over time so do pastures ... fields the rotation doesnt matter as of yet as it has not been implemented in the full release as the way they have it coded forces you to rotate every pasture and filed every 2 to 4 years ... which isnt true to life ... and those 7x7 farms everyone says are more efficient .. is BS ... that size feeds 4 people ONLY 4 people ... while a max 6 person farm feeds 50 ... early game make your farm as BIG as you can afford people and leave room to remove and expand it to max as you have people to work it ... population growth also goes better with an abundance of food and housing ... along with other resources ... so if you cant get over certain amount of food add more food production and get the reserve to stock pile so your people make more people for when they get old ... if you keep adding houses until you have one with only 1 person in it or empty then you are at a nice expansion for population ... once they fill up add 5 or 6 more and then wait a bit so the people can reshift where they live ... then add more housing until you have 2 empty .... otherwise you stagnate for a year or two and end up starting the death spiral of doom as you cant replace lost workers and expansion with new births ...

    I started playing banished very recently, thinking that it would be a very simplistic, yet fun game... I was wrong. How does the Gatherer's hut and Hunter's Cabin affect the Herbalist? why did you separate them?

    • @0623kaboom
      @0623kaboom 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      they dont they can be stacked together BUT each building takes up some resources of the others ... and the hunter loses animals due to gatherer's and herbalists ... if you can build them as separate as you can always .. same with the forester ... dont even put storage our housing in the forester's area ... make a place out of all the area's to house the people and store their products

    • @Petq011
      @Petq011 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not at all. It is better to have them next to each other with storage and homes as close as possible.
      Also, the visual deer you see are confirmed to be just that. They don't affect the yield.

    • @Aoderic
      @Aoderic 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      You should only build one fishing dock in the early game, it's usually enough anyway. If you build two make sure the yellow circles don't overlap, and make sure that you get as much water in the circle as possible, at least half a circle. If possible build barns as close to your docks as possible so the fishermen don't have too go to far to unload.
      The best way to feed your settlement in the first year, if you have a good stretch of forest, is to build a gatherer and a then hunter, they can be build next to each other, but should have as much flat and forested land within their circles as possible, building a forester next to them is a bonus, if you set him to plant trees only .
      Don't rely on pastures and orchards the first year as they take some time to fill up and mature respectively.
      I hope this will help you, and I wish you good luck : )

      a fishery with 4 people in it is good for about 20 people ... a 7x7 farm is good for 4 people .. but a max farm with 6 farmers is good for 50 people ... in farming small is NOT better ... a small pasture of 7x7 for chickens is good for about 6 people BUT it is also a great place to quickly max a pasture so you can seed another LARGER one with them that will actually feed your village ... use the small one as a seed for your livestock and a quick dump if you need that lil extra cash at the trader
      .
      for every 20 people in your town add a max farm and a max pasture minimum ... at the start the small 7x7 pasture is kept and the farm is made as large as you can afford people to place in it at the time ... but leave room around the farm so you can expand it later to max so you can feed more people easier ... and grain silos are friend ... they store the fields produce quickly and allow merchants and millers to gather what they need when they need it ... and it keeps your farmers tending he fields instead of carting their stuff off to storage barns that are the least full ... yes least full not the closest ... while silos are always filled first

    something you missed entirely ... and for the same reason as hunter's herbalists and gatherer's ... dont put storage and houses near your forester either as those buildings remove the ability to get resources from those spots ... keep all the storage and housing OUT of these places area of effect to maximize your output ... best is to make a small village with housing and storage for the people who are hunting cutting and gathering your food and resources then you have a centrally located residecec zone and maximized resource output
