  • Let’s head into the mountains and go to Quincy for lunch and a static check on Goldie, the 1966 Cessna 150!

Ahhh, the good ole Quincy airport, I've spent MANY hours there, unfortunately none of them flying anything, but that's a longer story! The airport sure looks beautiful this time of year and if I was a pilot, I'd definitely want to go there... still think you should get a One Wheel for your beer buying excursions. And you missed out not going to Morning Thunder, excellent breakfast spot! A Friendly Airport review of the Little River airport would be interesting! 😉

Maybe I’ll do a go fund me for a one wheel! Haha! Hmmmm yeah, I’ve been wanting to get back to Little River! I really want to take the Chief into the little private Fort Brag airport someday, but I suspect they are pretty selective on who they let in there. One of these days I’ll make the call tho.

Ahhh yes, the USS Georgetown! Haha. Perhaps we should an overnighter there once the weather warms up a bit more!

I second the interest in E36, my hometown airport. While you’re there, try to interview Scotty Herring, he has a few businesses there and a hangar full of beautiful airplanes.

Ahhhh, indeed. I have some ideas for a feature length Georgetown episode! And I will see if I can lookup the guy. I would like to incorporate some local interviews into my videos. 🤔

I took the 172 there once with my instructor to see about setting up my checkride, which never happened. I found it a little tricky to get out of that valley with two big guys in it. Fortunately the locals told us just what to do and it was slow but worked. There was just a very slight breeze and they had me take off with a tailwind, get a boost from the little hill at the east end of the runway, and zig zag up the mountain on the far side of the valley using the uplift. Might still be there circling if it wasn’t for that 😂

Yeah, It can get very tight if you’re not careful. Good to check with a local/your instructor if you haven’t flown out of there before. I always do at least a circle or two in the 150! 😂

I think I flew about five figure eights up the side of that mountain I was hyper aware because our gal wasn’t actually that high and didn’t go up as we climbed. The whole thing was a fascinating, if not unnerving, experience. @@trustyaeronaut
