Which audio did you think had the best quality? For those who are curious, here's what I used:
False Hype/White Boy Smooth - Blue Snowball (reverb and ambience effects on)
Jig 2/Troop Marches/Warm Ups - Blue Snowball (no effects. Slightly different mic placement in the room for each of these)
69er - Rhodes VidMic Pro (no effects)
EMCproductions the reverb but no ambience
I think the 69er had the best audio
I think you're expecting this answer, but different ones could apply to different situations.
Best overall (also for tenors/snares)= Troop March C, if you could find a way to make the bass come through more (troop march B seemed to pick base up a little more)
False hype/white boy smooth has a sweet spock and cymbal sound, though the tenors way overpower everything else (snare also, but less so)
69'er had a great bass balance and makes tenors/snare sound distant. Not my favorite though
Jig 2 sounded very thin, but the bass drum clicks came through fantastically, and the bass notes were not so overpowered
I did not like the warmups sound because it was so punchy. If the attack could be reduced, it would be great to practice to without blowing speakers.
I liked Jig 2. And if you're gonna do effects, maybe make em more subtle
more reverb and ambience with troop march c

The part where you played 8-8-16 a few more times so the basses could get in their 3s and 4s really brought me back to the good ole days when I played bass

Eric, I'd like to see a time lapse video of how you do the set up and filming of each part you play when you are every player! What part you play first, what you are listening to for each part to know where you are, etc. That would be insane to see! INCREDIBLE! Missed the single hand 6/8 triplets on Jig 2...and once again "I appreciate your service"!

We begged our band director all season to let us play jig 2 and when he finally let us play it the tenors messed up the solo.
you just made me realize my two favorite highschool cadences were watered down versions of troop march b and
not only do they sound great... but he did them all himself, and went through the pain of editing all of them. and you only saw him... everywhere... he is everywhere...

listened to this on a huge old school stereo system and 69 had the crispy snare sound that the others lacked. sounded most like being in the room

Bass drums came through best during White Boy Smooth. Tenor and snare came through best on 69er. Warms up sounded really good, too.

The audio setting for false hype reminds me of when my drumline was practicing in an empty arena for a basketball halftime show
@EMCproductions after close observation of each Cadence's audio quality, I have declared it impossible to deem one as the best. The reason for this is because everything you play is quality
I love how first bass is constantly shaking the camera.
I cant tell you how many drumline battles ive won with Jig 2 playing tenor back in highschool, where they try it and mess up, or they nail it as well so we speed it up even more, lol.

Love your videos - funny and informative! I just watched the BTS of this and had presumed the click/metronome was in your headset. But in some, you have no headphones. And of course, the BTS shows the obnoxious click. :) How do you remove the click audio from your recordings?
Some of these I prerecorded the audio separately. I always use headphones with a click for the audio recordings. It's not possible to edit it out.

lol same but i already play snare, i can do it traditionally with the wrong hand, just my luck
honestly, I learned by watching lots of headcams and in the lot videos, plus practicing in front of a mirro with 8’s and triplet diddle

EMC have you ever tried composing a cadence for a show style drumline? If you ever decide to do it I’m very interested in seeing what you come up with.
Hey emc, just letting you know your videos aren’t showing up in my sub box until a day later. Thought I’d give you a heads up because maybe other people have this problem.
EMC, you should do a video trying to do things on the quads that HBCU (show) bands do. And I don't mean that in between of NCAT or Norfolk. I mean Grambling, Jackson State, or Prairie View.
Modern snare tuning really makes it sound like your just playing a block of wood.
My favorite audio quality was the Rhodes VidMic Pro!
