It doesn't look like anyone has uploaded a non-extended version of most of the first Dai Gyakuten Saiban soundtrack, so I'll be uploading the entire thing. I hope this doesn't increases the chances of my channel getting taken down, but we'll see.

I had a massive panic attack when I realised how tragic this was. Naruhodo and I were thinking the same thing.
istg it'll just be a regular case in the life of ryunosuke naruhodo, but then the guy makes a hopeful little mental query about whether or not kazuma would be proud of him, or even simply places his hand on the hilt of karuma with a smug grin aND I JUST BREAK DOWN INTO TEARS 😭 bro I knew that mf for one case, ONE FREAKING CASE but god I mourn for him like i'd known him the whole game
I'm glad I'm not the only one lol like I wasn't expecting him to grow on me as much as he did the first 2 cases
I'll always associate this track to Auchi committing hair seppuku and everybody reacting like they've witnessed an unspeakable tragedy.

I love that scene so much!! XD plus I laughed too, but incidentally halfway through that case there was a piece of dialogue that prompted me to go googling, and I ended up learning about the disbandment of the samurai class after the end of the sakoku period and the modernisation of japan. The samurai as a class were extremely corrupt and exploitative, but it cannot be denied that they defined an era. One of those pieces of modernisation employed against the samurai was an edict passed in 1871 which forced samurai to cut their hair short, thus effectively banning the traditional style of the chonmage (the style that Auchi wears), not to mention that the cutting of long hair is often associated historically with banishment, and more modernly with rebirth, in Japan.
So him cutting the hair was in some ways symbolic of him finally accepting that Japan was changing as a nation, and that he must accept that change as well - a running theme of the game is modernisation and the prices we pay for it - and the rest of the courtroom recognises this, and pauses to honor the change with him.

Part of Kazuma Asogi was dead, at least in Ryunosuke's mind. That isn't idea law student he looks up in the first game, that is just another person tried to find the truth about his father and revenge his father death. But there is still hope, a hope about finding the truth, and truth will guide them do the right thing.
this whole case was like 17 consecutive punches to the emotional gut. doesn't feel brilliant

Kazuma is a hero...
He never truly died. He lives on within his best friend Ryuunosuke. The accident might be extremely unfortunate, but it is also extremely fortunate that Kazuma has a best friend like Ryuunosuke.

Au where instead of implying that he’s going to tell the captain, Kazuma says “Don’t worry I’m going to tell you my secret, that way you can have absolute trust in me” and Pavloa dosn’t frecking push him.
That might not be a good idea since his secret is considerably worse. It's like telling someone you murdered everyone in your family in exchange for keeping someone accidentally jizzing their pants a secret

By the way “I’m harboring a stowaway” and “I’m trying to escape to another country” are secrets I feel like are on the same level as secrets that could ruin your life if anyone ever found out.

If Asogi really died on that ship, that would be the most tragic thing, the last thing he saw before being pushed was his best friend, accept he is not really seeing him, bc Naruhodou was hidden from sight in the closet. It's a sad irony that Asogi cannot see the man whose name means "I see"
Also poor Ryuu must be feeling very traumatized by the event, cause like it or not, he was indirectly responsible for his friend's "death"
Listening to this song makes me want to believe in myself a little bit more.

So I actually played DGS2 first (for reasons), so I knew all the plot twists unfortunately when playing DGS.
Having said so, I still noticed interesting things. For example, after Vortex agreed to allow Naruhoudou take over Kazuma as the exchange student, he asked Naruhoudou what he meant by 'taking on Asougi's mission' and asked him to answer precisely. WOOOO boiiii knowing what I know I knew that he's asking whether Naruhoudou was aware of, and ready to take on the exchange killing program to kill Gregson. It hyped me up so much when seeing that!

Undoubtedly, that is what Stronghart was asking about. But even before you learn about the assassin exchange, it also sounds like Stronghart is asking Ryunosuke if he knows about Kazuma and his desire to avenge the death of his father. Like, "did you know why he was so desperate to reach London, anyway? To discover the truth behind his murderer father - the Professor."
