*I caught this guy on my 3rd cast. Paired with these 4" trailers. **enjoyable.fishing** recommend slightly modified, I think i trimmed about 3/4 of an inch off of it. Its deadly!*
It's a Van Staal VS200 taped to a 10' 1-3oz, moderate action rod. Great setup for throwing lighter lures and beach fishing, but doesn't have a ton of stopping power to steer fish away from rocks.
Hey Robert, I read in one of Frank Daignault's old surf fishing books that it's best to leave enough length between the teaser and the plug for a good-size striper to fit, so I've always tried to go by that. My usual leader is 40 to 48 inches, and the teaser dropper is 6 to 8 inches.

Hey John - this is what I've been using this season: www.amazon.com/Andover-Coflex-Self-Adherent-Elastic/dp/B01D8X98O4 It's very flexible and comfortable, and pretty durable.
Good idea w the clip on the swivel… I like it… quick and easy on and off… thanks
This is an awesome tactic for the teaser. Thanks for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed Curtis!
Great technique/video. What kind of rod is that ?
Great video …what size and type of hook do you recommend for the teaser?

Curious about your tackle bag @ 5:15?
That's a Flatlander Surfcasting 4-Tube Bag, but I replaced the circular tubes with rectangular downspouts.
Thank for the info, what rod and reel setup are you using there?

Great tip. How far from the plug is the teaser?
Usually we fish a leader about 3-4 feet in length, so the teaser rides about at least 30" in front of the plug.
On The Water Media lo
