Why can’t Japan do the same tho? Most countries in Asia like Saudi Arabia and Malaysia don’t allow same-sex marriage because of religion restrictions while Japan that has one of the highest number of atheist still can’t legalize gay marriage. It’s not like the religion is holding it back in Japan.

@@zakwanarif you are right. Japan doesn't really have religious people but there is very unique and strongly rooted tendency in Japanese society, which is peer pressure and conservativeness. If you see the former chairperson of Tokyo olympic committee, mentioning gender stereotype, this shows how much Japan is still underdeveloped in terms of adopting new and flexible perspective.

I am not a member of LGBT community, but as a human being, I am fully in favor of other human beings being able to freely seek happiness as long as it doesn't harm others. Taiwan can be proud to be the first to achieve that in Asia! Next step is abolishing death penalty?

      Shounen ai is just disgusting
Its an insult to alot of straight men
Not only that this will threaten the
      The future of human population
A few years from now it is estimated that 95% or more will be more accepting with the lgbt community
Thus giving more interest to the next gen to go homosexual and you know what will happend if theres more gay in the world? Less birth
      Less baby declined population
      Weakening the country
Until the world will be full of lgbt couple and left with less straight people to repopulate the world
And Im sure you would rather the world to end struck by a meteor
Another virus or a nuclear war than

No, accepting lgbt will not turn someone straight into gay. Sexuality is something we got born with, not something we can catch in the wild like pokemons. Where did you pull this logic from? Your ass? And 'lgbt' stands for 'lesbian, gay, *bisexual* , trans' and for your info bisexual is someone that likes both genders so I don't see the world getting low on child birth.

    [13] ו "No asesinarás.
    [14] ז "No cometerás adulterio.
    [15] ח "No robarás.
[16] ט "No darás falso testimonio contra tu prójimo.

Yes, Taiwan is the first Asian country legalizing same sex marriage. HOWEVER, we have not achieved marriage equality for ironically, Taiwan is also the only country with very limited transnational marriage when it comes to 2 men or 2 women. Currently it is Taiwanese + Taiwanese or Taiwanese + foreigners whose native country has same sex marriage. It has to be marriage, civil union does not work. So, you have to be from one of the 29 countries! If you are from other Asian countries and regions like Japan, Korea, Vietnam, Thailand, Hong Kong, or from countries that are obviously impossible to pass marriage equality laws like Russia, China and Muslim countries, you are blocked and your Taiwanese lover's right of marriage is diminished, chopped.
However, back when Cambodia forbidden her people from getting married with Taiwanese, the government made swift changes in administration to override and enabled the Taiwanese to marry their heterosexual lovers in Taiwan! So, why can't the government do the same for transnational LGBT couples? It's been 800+ days since the same sex marriage legalized partially and the courts ruled the government losing twice already, yet it still has not complete the full same sex marriage through amending the laws or updating administrative procedures!
No discount on marriage equality! An incomplete same sex marriage isn't something to be celebrated. I look forward for the day when the missing piece for the transnational LGBT couples holding their head up high to walk down the aisle in Taiwan!

    • @rogerup
      @rogerup 3 ปีที่แล้ว

Taiwan’s same-sex marriage law has been passed through legislation, and the previous constitution has also been revised. What you said may not be updated yet, only marriages with foreigners are still being coordinated,There may be many political factors. Taiwan’s international diplomacy is inherently difficult and often encounters many obstacles, but I think this issue will be resolved in the future. 🏳️‍🌈❤️
