Dewayne clearly has been able to allocate a lot of time and a tremendous amount of money to this, but his outlook still seems to be the same as so many of us. It’s about experiences, sharing the whiskey with friends, and bringing more people into this together. Seems like a super cool guy. Loved the episode Jason!
Quite possibly my favorite video ever. When he said, "I've made more friends over whiskey and cigars..." that told me all I needed to know. Cheers to you and cheers to Dewayne.
I for one have randomly tried Dewayne’s private Springbank 25 bottling. How? He donated a bottle to someone else and left it on the shelf for them and their friends. Was that bottle for total whiskey nerds? No. Was it for folks who’d appreciate him and what he does, yes. Dewayne is everything that you’d hope for in a whiskey benefactor - I’ll never be on his level, but everything he does is what I’d hope he would. This is amazing content and the “off sheet” reference confirms every single word he said. 🎉
Jason C from the Mash and Drum. Thank you so much for this video. Been waiting on it since you teased it on the Bourbon Hunters Podcast, and holy shit, it did not disappoint. I sipped on Barrell Seagrass and 1792 Full Proof while watching, and this video gave such an effect of whiskey appreciation, these two bottles tasted better than ever before. Don’t know how you two did it, but this video is almost mystical. So thank you again, and thank you to Mister Poor for opening his collection to you and the rest of us!!
I've been tasting whisky for 25 years & believe me some that were really rare too & I have to say I'm impressed by this guy's collection I never heard of. Lucky Jason, lol...Also the fact that 99 % of them (ok first examplary of each) are opened would really please to a legend like Freddie Johnson (who I'm sure he knows personally), opened & shared, fantastic ! And thanks for sharing this "living museum collection" visit with us, Jason...🙏👏👏👏
How can anyone not love Dewayne? Does an incredibly important job, loves whisky and loves opening it, guy is the sort of person you hope collects whisky. Class stuff.
Hands down the best episode ever on whiskey I have seen to date by you or any of your contemporaries. Next level. Can't wait for the next one. I actually paused and poured a Highland Park cask strength mid video ( the best in my tiny collection ) to feel worthy to watch.
Thanks Jason!! Wow what a collection. Even better what a cool cat. He seemed very down to earth even with that collection he just seemed like a regular going just enjoying some whiskey and wanting others to enjoy. Very cool
Howdy Jason N Dwayne! Great share! Like others I have seen Dwayne before and the history side of his collection is fascinating! And Jason…you impressed me with your scotch knowledge and love! Great show folks! 🤠🇺🇸🇨🇱🥃
Awsome content! Thanks to Dewayne for sharing! Its great he opens his bottles, but why insure open bottles? I thought the value was zero of a open bottle. Maybe im misunderstanding something.
Great video and educational discussion. I love the sharing of whiskey, stories and information -- whiskey is definitely better when sharing with family and friends, and making new friends. My brothers and I are heading to Scotland in June for 10x days with 2x days on Islay. What distilleries are must visits? I plan on Bruichladdich, Lagavulin, Ardbeg and Laphroaig on Islay, plus we're going by my brother's favorite - Aberfeldy. What other's do we have to see, if possible? Thanks!
While you didn't ask the question, I think what you should have asked is, what do you see happen with this collection once you're gone? How do you expect this collection to be curated?
Parents owned a liquor store in the late '70s through the '90s I have been collecting since 1991 never opened a bottle they do a nice job these days but the OFCs from the '80s and '90s were some tasty juice some of my favorite specially the old pappy's I'm not very found of the new Bourbon hype because everything is out of control now you can't drink some bourbons you may want to drink . All because of one honey barrel from Buffalo Trace😢 this guy makes me jealous😂
I know where that's at in South Oklahoma City. Only because I was an Oklahoma City Firefighter (Retired now) assigned to the Fire Station near his Bunker.
I’m 32 and recently diagnosed with what Dwayne has; Ménière’s disease. In 1997 he would’ve been around the same age as me. Inner ear disorders are absolutely horrible and there’s no cure for Ménière’s disease.
Move over, Jason. I want to be friends w Dewayne now. Are you reading this, buddy? I have a whiskey club in NY and we'd be happy to come down and stay with you a few days (or longer if you prefer). It must be daunting looking at all those old bottles you'll never be able to finish. We can help. What do you think? No pressure. 😁
Now this guy is a collector. Just a massive amount of old dusty bottles and seriously rare spirits. Not like these guys that have 300 bottles of allocated and shelfers that they all bought in the last 10 years.
His goal isnt to flip bottles. Some people collect cars, coins, guns w/e; this guy collects whiskey, its a hobby for him. Also, everything Ive heard about this guy from people who know him say hes incredibly generous. Im drooling over those high aged Macallans & Balvenies but Im not jealous or mad. Why are you?

Dwayne should have his own podcast !!!The Daily Poor

What an amazing conversation, I could have sat and listen to Dewayne for hours, that had to be an amazing experience. Thanks for sharing this video.
Dewayne is awesome. This is the 3rd time I've seen him, frankly he needs to be in more content. Really enjoyed this, thanks Jason & Dewayne 🙌👊🥃
How can anyone not love Dewayne? Does an incredibly important job, loves whisky and loves opening it, guy is the sort of person you hope collects whisky. Class stuff.
Always seems like a very humble Easy to get along with down-to-earth guy That is willing to share whiskey with anyone Over a good story
I’ve seen a few videos with Dewayne and his collection but this is by far my favorite. Great job with the interviewing and conversation.
Hands down the best episode ever on whiskey I have seen to date by you or any of your contemporaries. Next level. Can't wait for the next one. I actually paused and poured a Highland Park cask strength mid video ( the best in my tiny collection ) to feel worthy to watch.
Excellent collection, great collector… Fantastic video. Thanks for sharing.
This guy embodies everything that is right with whiskey. Love seeing videos of Dwayne Poor
In a couple FB groups with Dewayne. Superb guy!
I’m a Perfusionist in La Crosse, Wisconsin. Congratulations on that collection. Perfusionists in Oklahoma are obviously paid better than in WI.
You're a profusionist. Dwayne hires profusionists at his multiple companies. 😂
Thanks Jason!! Wow what a collection. Even better what a cool cat. He seemed very down to earth even with that collection he just seemed like a regular going just enjoying some whiskey and wanting others to enjoy. Very cool

Love to hear that you're a Bunnahabhain fan! That is my jam! The 18 is my all time favorite.
The 25 year Springbank private cask was a mic drop moment
What an awesome experience! I couldn't imagine seeing all of that in person.
Incredible video Jason!! I have to say this is probably the best!! Love it! Keep up the great content!!
Looking forward to part 2
Same
Wow! What an experience! Thanks for sharing, Jason!
This is such a cool video! Thanks for bringing this to us.
Thoroughly enjoyed this episode Jason, can`t wait for part 2 & all on top of the terrific interview with Ian Stirsman, well done mate!
Wow, what an incredible collection. Loved the video, thanks Jason for sharing that. Looking forward to part 2!
Was part 2 within another video?
Great video. This is what this is all about, in my opinion.
I’ve seen that collection in other vids. Very cool.
Amazing! Whiskeytube at its BEST! Can’t wait for the next paRT. 🥃👍🏼
Is there a next part?
This was such a good episode. Thanks for making this!
Great video ! Thanks for posting. I will look forward to Part 2....Slainte!
Any update on part 2?
Great video 👍 My favorite was that Old Weller Antique Original 107 Brand bottle, just beautiful
Awsome content! Thanks to Dewayne for sharing! Its great he opens his bottles, but why insure open bottles? I thought the value was zero of a open bottle. Maybe im misunderstanding something.
Well he is constantly adding and replacing so its just revolving cost.
Excellent interview! Very interesting. This gentleman was ahead of his time whiskey collecting wise. Around the states anyway. Good job!
This was a great video. Just awesome. Love it! Thank you
Great video ! One of my favorites.
Great conversations, what a collection!
What a great experience!!
This is such great content Jason.
Do more of these videos bro! Excellent video
Excellent opportunity and video my friend.
Wow that was insane what work and money has been put into this amazing collection.

Awesome thanks for sharing.
Awesome video and documentation of this collection
Remarkable. Sharing is caring, a good philosophy.
Awesome! 🥃
I wish i lived next door to this gentleman.
Great video, awesome collection
Wow what an amazing video Jason! 🥃🤘🏼
The Palo Cortado is already on shelves. I’ve seen it at multiple stores.
How in the world does he keep all those corks wet? I have trouble with the sub 100 I have. I assume humidity control but still.
“Dewayne Poor” lmao 🤣
Fantastic video! I really enjoyed it!
Just Wow!!!!
Great great video!
Awesome!
While you didn't ask the question, I think what you should have asked is, what do you see happen with this collection once you're gone? How do you expect this collection to be curated?
I did get into it a bit with him. He really didnt know yet so I didnt include it.

Very interesting video...thanks...!!

Before he said I’m opening a rosebank, I was thinking I hope he’s opening a rosebank for you.
So freaking jealous good way, amazing whiskey, great video!Cheers Gentleman!
Wow. Rosebank
Can you ask him how I can avoid becoming him. 🤣🤣🤣
😂
Instant best friend.
Inspirational
What a great video. Been looking a bourbon head for a little bit now. Still on the fence.
stay tuned for part 2!
Seriously. Wow.
Lost prophet is soooo good
This guy knows his shit!
Great way to raise money
Someone has a drinking problem. Bunnahabhain is my favorite Scotch Distillery
Amazing Jason Wowwww! 🥃🤘🏼Introduce! 😂
Good stuff Jason, & I'm bowled over by the breadth off his collection. So I guess they sold you on the NFT risk.
Nope. More about that in part 2
He bought his own cask 😂😂😂 wowww
*drooling
Any word on part 2?
Does he have a Highland Park 50yr?
Yep
@@TheMashandDrum or maybe I should have asked how many of them, I have a friend that has one unopened
@@joegarcia1960 as far as I know one. But who knows.

I can help also, if needed. I always available! 🤭🤭🤔😉
I'm sorry that he had to stop drinking red wine. I love whiskey.. but I LOVE wine
🙌🏻🙌🏻😁

Can someone explain to me why this guy gets a pass on being the king of secondary?

Good lord. This is the kind of guy I like. Spend your money on cool bottles. Don’t collect 40 bottles of Buffalo Trace .
Any Irish Whiskey in his collection?
Not that I saw in that room
@@TheMashandDrum Too bad 😞 Love your channel and especially these episodes! Cheers! 🥃
😊💖🐶🐶🥃
Must be hard getting a collection like that together as a multi-millionaire.
Collecting bottles is not Interesting. Open them and drink them, don’t look at them
😵💫😵💫🥃🥃
He is clearly not poor.
I hope earthquakes don't visit Oklahoma.
